Enjoyable storyline. I wanted to shake Wes quite a few times throughout the book. Cassidy’s decision not to sell her property certainly sets off an unforeseen series of events. The interaction between Cassidy and the two boys is humorous at times. I enjoyed the final confrontation with Proctor, the fight scene was well written. I enjoyed the book.
Cassidy is veterinarian running wolf rescue on her ranch in New Mexico. She rescues a badly injured wolf and locks him in the barn overnight after treating him. In the morning she finds a man instead of a wolf. She had no idea shifters existed! Wes spends 6 weeks on the ranch recovering and making love to Cassidy. One morning she wakes up and he is gone. She is doubly furious when she finds out she is pregnant. She has a beautiful son she names Davie and she is happy raising him on the ranch. She doesn’t need any other man in her life. Davie is a shifter and started shifting early so she keeps him in his room for the 3 or 4 days he is in wolf form.
2 years later a land developer tries to buy her land. When she refuses, they kidnap Davie. They will return him once she signs over her ranch. She can’t call the police because it is getting close to the full moon and if Davie shifts and the police see him, she is afraid they will take him away. She doesn’t know what to do, but starts researching werewolf’s on the internet. She comes across the Paranormal True Mate Dating Agency. She figures a werewolf would make a good bodyguard and will help her get Davie back. She fills out the forms and tells them she needs a mate ASAP.
In the mean time Wes’s behavior has degraded to the point that his pack has officially kicked him out. Wes is taken aback and realizes this means he is fair game for the Super Natural Hunters. He is scared, for once, and thinks that if he finds a mate with another shifter, the other pack will protect him. He signs up on the Paranormal True Mate Dating Agency. He lies about his answers, just answering what he thinks a woman would want to hear. He is surprised when he very quickly gets a response and is told to report immediately to their offices. When he shows up there is another wolf shifter that is in the office with him. Cassidy has been matched with both of them and she gets to try them both out and pick the one she wants. Danver and Wes head for Cassidy’s ranch. Wes hasn’t even bothered to look at the information he was given about the woman he was matched with. So he is totally surprised when he gets there and sees her. She is furious and locks him out of the house and breaks down crying. Danver is confused, but fortunately his level head calms her down so she will let them in the house. Eventually they figure out what why she is crying. They agree to help her and come up with a plan. The first part of the plan goes smoothly and Wes follows them to where they are holding Davie. As soon as he smells the baby, he knows it is his son. He goes back to the ranch and he and Danvers steel Davie back. Cassidy is elated, but she knows the land developer will come after her. So the three of them wait and with the help of silver bullets, they kill them so that Cassiday and Davie won’t have to worry about him tracking them down and killing them. Wes decides to stick around and marry Cassidy and help raise Davie.
This is a great book. You start out hating Wes because he is such a jerk and absolutely worthless, but by the end you are rooting for him to step up to the plate for Cassidy and Davie, which he does!
This is a fast paced, short book. I can't report on the editing, as I opted for the audio on this one. I can say the narrator was decent enough. He was no Teddy Hamilton, but he got the job done in a satisfactory manner.
This should have been a 3.5 or 4 star listen but there were problems. I'll get to those problems later, but first I want to share what I liked.
What worked for me:
1. Cassidy (fmc) was likeable enough and relatable. 2. Wes (mmc 1) was not a man I would choose for a multitude of reasons. I didn't find him all that brave or heroic. He sort of fell into everything, rather than working for anything but he was the "easy going/humor of the story - so whatever. I didn't hate him. 3. Danver was definitely a beta male, which is fine. He was the serious but soft to the half assed dominance of Wes.
What didn't work for me:
The blurb tells us that Cassidy wants them both and I was all about that. Why choose, right? But all is not as advertised. We are teased with one scene, setting us up to believe we are getting what we bought. We are teased even further (spoilers below) but it went nowhere fast. Sadly, I fell for the tease in that one scene and quickly bought the second book in the series.
There are unanswered questions about the big bad....like - why and how. There was a lot of potential there but like the romance, it fell flat in an instant.
There is no way to say what I didn't like without spoilers so here is your warning. Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler Spoiler
1. The whole "she wants them both" wasn't a lie. She had them both and she didn't choose - but one of them didn't want to be part of a throuple and he walked away rather than share. In that sense, I felt shorted. I enjoy a good mfm romance. Every now and then,I even enjoy a very well written mmf romance.
2. A finger in the butt doesn't mean one is gay or bi - but there were some hints that one or both of the men could be or are bisexual. It felt a lot like the whole Destiel tease throughout Supernatural. Maybe the author wanted to take this all the way but lacked the courage. Maybe the author thought the tease was better than exploring the full on bisexual throuple story. Maybe the author wanted to show readers that a finger in the butt can be one's kink and it doesn't make a guy gay or bisexual. And she wouldn't be wrong - but that wasn't explored either and again...she left enough clues to leave readers thinking it was more than a straight man's kink. Either way, it left me wanting her to make up her mind and be honest about what she is selling.
Since I had read Book 5 of this series, I felt obligated to read this series from the very beginning.
Plot line: Could had been worse. Typical super-villain werewolf scenario but slightly different as because there are two werewolves in competition with the human female for mateship. Interesting... even with a possible twang of what the author suggested could be bi, but just because a guy finds a finger up his virginal ass pleasurable doesn't mean he's bi. He's just a sexual individual, considering all the pleasure nerves in the rectal area, including the prostate. (No, the wolf-wooers in question is NOT bi!) But little wolf boy hybrid is kidnapped by a really big bad wolf, and he must be stopped!
Editing: Problematic. Needed an editor to catch all the continuity problems, grammar errors, punctuation mistakes, and misspellings. Shame, shame, shame. I also don't like mixing different styles in storytelling. I'm a reality kind of girl, not a bard retelling a legend where one can bounce ahead into the future and not depend on quotations for story propulsion.
Characters: Interesting, but these three needed more space to stretch their legs, so to speak. This is where the templated plot lines blossom before crashing and burning. I needed some originality here, folks.
It's a novella I'm reading for free through KU. Fine. I can live with that. I wish there could had been more pages (and maybe even better enrichment for better storylines) in length. Again, my feelings that you have to work very, very hard to write a decent story that survives well in 125 pages. Better to spend extra time to write a few more pages to keep the story from sounding like you're rushing it at the beginning as well as the end!
I thoroughly enjoyed this latest book from Amelia her books always are a lot of fun and this one is no exception Though I have to tell you at times I absolutely hated Wes. He had a lot of growing up to do
Cassidy works as a vet but her passion is rehabilitating wolves but imagine her surprise when the latest wolf she is treating manages to turn in to a man over night Wes is a wolf shifter and it take him quite a few weeks to heal and he and Cassidy give in to their attraction to one another during that time. Then one morning she wakes up and he is gone not even a letter saying goodbye and even worse she soon finds out she is pregnant. Soon she is raising her wolf pup Davie by herself and locking him in his room when he is due to change but someone wants her property and they kidnap Davie to try to foprce her unable to go to the police incase Davie changes and they take him away she goes to the Paranormal True Mate Dating hoping a mate would help her. Meanwhile Wes has gone totally off the rails and has been thrown out of his opack and he is hoping that a mate will settle him down When he and another wolf shifter have both been selected for Cassidy though he doesn't realise she is the mate and they both go to meet her so she can select She isn't happy and won't even let Wes into her home but Danver talks her down and she explains what is going on Wes and Danver set of to rescue Davie and all it takes is one sniff for Wes to realise that he is his son With him rescued it is time to make sure that Cassidy is never troubled again. Has Wes finally found a reason to be a better man will he have a future with his family You will have to read to see
Okay, here's a short synopsis, so, Cassidy has a ranch in New Mexico and she rescues wounded wolves. One night she rescues a wolf and puts it in her barn. The next morning instead of a wolf, she got a very handsome naked man. Talk about convenient, it's like having groceries delivered to your house. Okay, little side humor. Back to the book. So she and Wes hit it off and he stays with her. She really likes him. And then...he's gone. But he left a little part of himself behind. A couple years later some men want to buy her farm. Cassidy is not interested. So, they figure if they snag her little boy she'll change her tune. But Cassidy heads to the Shifter dating agency and fills out the paperwork, telling them she needs a mate right away. They find two matches, one is Danver and the other is a huge, oh hell no, Wes. At first she refuses to let them in. But then she's relented and opened the door. She explains her devastation at what has happened to her son and they both agree to help her. Now that would suck if that was the end of the book. But there's a lot more action, angst, confusion and hot and steamy. Mr recommendation is, read this book by Amelia Wilson. I've read a ton of her books and I've yet to be disappointed.
Borrowed From KINDLE UNLIMITED Title: Bodyguard Wolf's Baby Series: Paranormal True Mate Dating Agency #1 Release Date: #AlreadyReleased Author: Amelia Wilson Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Serial: Standalone, No Cliffhanger Genre: #PRN #WolfShifter #Cub ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ •••••••••••••• 💢 Everything you can think of is in it Adventure, Survival, Fear, Jealousy, Betrayal, Suspense, Action Packed, Loyalty, Hate, Lust, Love, Wickedly Scenes, Hero's and Strong Heroine's, 🔹️Cassidy Danworth was a human to be basically a Stepford Wife but that wasn’t Cassidy. She knew what she wanted to be and she went after it making sure that her dreams came true. Then a wolf came who would have died without her veterinarian skills this Wolf was more than she could even imagine. For one whole month it was heavenly bliss, then he left without a word! 🔹️Wes was a Charmer, Smooth Talker, Alcoholic, Poker Playing Womanizer and a WolfShifter. Yep he knew he was a Looser too. He needed a pac he needed a Mate so he applied and found out there would be him and Danver could he share… Oh yeah!!! ☄️ This review is my own opinion, this author is one that I love to read her books.

Wes was almost killed after a fight in his pack left him running for his life. Cassidy has a ranch and works with wolf conservationists protecting injured and abandoned wolves. She patched up Wes and after a month of healing he up and left her. Now Cassidy has a child that's been kidnapped and needs help getting him back. That's how the True Mate Dating Agency gets involved. They send 2 potential mates her way to choose from. Danvers is everything Wes is not. Sweet, honorable, thoughtful and responsible. Can they work together to save the baby and keep the mom? It's gonna take everything in Wes' power to change his ways. Really good book I had a hard time putting it down. Now I'm looking forward to Danvers' story. If you like shifters and second chances, I think you would like this book if you can get past Wes' idiotic ways.
Fun read, but I think the 'L' word is a little strong in this story..
In all honesty, I hated Wes from the get-go. I did not like a single thing about the guy. I was annoyed that he ended up back at Cassidy's place. Eventually, I softened up towards him but I was not cheering for him and Cassidy to get together. Danver was a much better option, in my opinion. So the ending was not my favorite. And the use of the 'L' word was not fitting in their relationship.
The story could have been better...like a little more than better. But I did enjoy this. The second book was the one that caught my attention. I was planning to read it first, but read this one instead. Now I sort of wished I had just read the other one first. I didn't feel that connection between Wes and Cass, but there was something between Cass and Danver. I might reconsider reading the next one, in the future. But we shall see, I guess...maybe once I forget about this one.
Cassidy is a single mother of a two-year-old boy. The father is Wes, a wolf shifter who was looked after by Cassidy when he was injured and dying. Things got hot and heavy, Wes left, and Cassidy was left with a wolf shifter baby. One day she is approached by three men who come onto her property. One of them, Paul Procter, says that they are going to basically take her land whether she wants to sell or not. She gets rid of them, but they take action and steal her little boy. She is desperate and goes to the Paranormal True Mate Dating Agency to find a wolf or two to help her. Wes has also gone there to find a woman to have a baby with but lied on his profile. Making himself out to be so much better than he really is. Turns out that gorgeous Danver and Wes are both selected as being perfect for Cassidy. What will happen now? Really enjoyed this one.
Cassidy is a vet. When she spots a wounded wolf outside, she moves him into her barn and calls the local protection agency. When she wakes up, she's surprised to find no wolf, but Wes, a naked man and that's not the last surprise he leaves her with. Two years later, she's having trouble with people wanting to buy her land and they kidnap her son. There's only one course of action, she'll need a shifter or two to help her recover her half shifter son. And who does she get -- same guy--he's back--will he stay or will the other bodyguard be the one to save her son? Fast, quick story, lots of action and sizzle.
Cassidy had no idea that werewolves were real till she rescued one that she found who was hurt. Wes left his old pack and then decided that he needed a mate and baby so that he could have a pack of his own. Neither knew that when they tried the True Love dating site that it would mean that they would come together again or that he would be rescuing the son of the woman he met, loved and left. I would highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy great romantic stories filled with twists and turns.
I hated he guy who knocked up the MC. He treated her like crap. Left. Talked about her to other people like crap. And talked in front of her like crap. He admits to constant blackout drinking and prostitutes. He didn’t even remember the farmhouse in which he spent a month and a half.
What about this would make a good father? What about this sounds like a love match? Mates are chosen in this book not pre-existing.
Not someone I would choose to be an example for my son. One star for the other guy.
Interesting storyline through the story on Wed and Cassidy. Cassidy found and took care of Wes, but Wes left her behind with a gift. Unfortunately, people who will hurt others for profit or what they want get together involved. Cassie tries to get help to save her son. This is how Cassidy fights back with Wes and Danvers help to save Davie. Recommended for mature audiences
He's a right bounder but he steps up when she needs him the most. Cassidy didn't expect the agency to send her former lover Wes to her doorstep. But he and blond hotness Danver ride into town to claim her heart, not knowing she's got bigger issues. A kidnapper from Wes's past rears his ugly head and threatens everything Cassidy holds dear. Her knight in shining fur is just what she needs.
First, Amelia Wilson is one of my favorite authors. Second, as usual, she has crafted a story that's full of interesting main characters. They are all very different but the same in their feelings about family. Third, the storyline is full of suspense and action including sexy action too. This book is a fairly fast read and a nice set-up for book 2. I encourage everyone to try this series and enjoy!
Bodyguard Wolf's Baby is book one in the Paranormal True Mate Dating Agency series. It was a quick read and it did not take a lot of forethought, or retention of material.
This is about a woman that fell for a werewolf, he runs off and she's pregnant. Then someone wants to steal her land and takes her baby as collateral.
She reaches out to the True Mate Dating Agency for help.
This was a slow build and Wes is annoying but it was fun.
Cassidy moves far away from her relentless family. She wants her own life so she buys a large farm and sets up as a rescue for wolves and is able to use her veterinarian skills. She is in her haven. Wes appears on her property wounded and near dead. This is a heartbreaking story about love, loss, fear, misunderstanding and despairingly deep pain. The twists and turns keeps your heart rate up!
This story had so much potential and it was a good read. I just felt as though so much effort had gone into the characters, the set up but then it stopped when it could have gone deeper and answered more questions. It just lacked the depth to answer questions that the story had created.
Yes I enjoyed how Casidy and Wes were able to work things out and stay together. And I really hope that Danver finds out if Melanie is his new mate. Even with Clyde coming, the father of her first child. Plus I hope when Wes and more goto to rescue Penelope. Then Wes will have a family club of his own.
Bodyguard Wolf's Baby is book one in the series Paranormal True Mate Dating Agency by author Amelia Wilson. Intriguing storyline that will have you shaking your head- some action- both kinds of if you get the hint. Definitely some humor. All in all a great start to a series. Enjoy!!
This was a different shifter tale. The male character was an immature and selfish piece of work. She needed help immediately to save her son and tried a dating agency. Resulting in meeting her baby daddy as a candidate. He rescues his son and matures as they get their HEA.
Cassidy and Wes story has lots of twist and turns, but they keep your attention and make you wonder if davie is okay and if they'll get him back? You've to keep reading to find out. Enjoy!
Wes left Cassidy after she took care of him and nursed him back to health. Then left without a second look back. Now after years of raising their son, Wes is back again. IIs this time where he changes and stays? Sit back relax and enjoy.
A great storyline, a lot of twists and turns, interesting characters, Victoria dramatic, lots of hot sizzling chemistry, and very entertaining. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and gave my honest opinion.
I am a bit on the fence with this one. It had some different scenarios with some intrigue and danger. It isn't a bad story, just something in the involvement between the characters didn't work for me, but not enough to quit reading it.
Dating Service for Shifters and Humans? What the heck!
Cassidy and Wes have a shared past. In search of a mate of their own, Wes and Danver show up to woo Cassidy. Intrigue along with good old heat builds HEA with more to come.
