A.K. Evans is a contemporary romance author of over twenty published novels. While she enjoys writing a good romantic suspense novel, Andrea’s favorite books to write have been her extreme sports romances. That might have something to do with the fact that she, along with her husband and two sons, can’t get enough of extreme sports.
Before becoming a writer, Andrea did a brief stint in the insurance and financial services industry and managed her husband’s performance automotive business. That love of extreme sports? She used to drive race cars!
When Andrea isn’t writing, she can be found homeschooling her two sons, doing yoga, snowboarding, reading, or traveling with her family. She and her husband are currently taking road trips throughout the country to visit all 50 states with their boys.
OH MY HELL! I LOVE me some Cunningham Security series by the brilliant A.K. Evans. Man, I hurt for Quinn when the perfect marriage she though she had, went up into flames when her husband betrayed her with her best friend. Double douchebags for real. Now, she's left with major trust issues to boot, and I couldn't blame her one bit. I felt for her so much when she had to pick herself up to move along, and I found myself wanting to seriously hurt those two people who hurt her so badly. Tyson Reed has a loud & noisy family, and great friends, so he truly believes he has the perfect life. Quinn feels like she's never getting into another relationship, and definitely not one anytime soon, until Tyson shows up to install her new security system, and her life is actually looking up, though she feels like she shouldn't even attempt anything this soon. However, with the sparks these two have flying, it was only a matter of time to be honest, as those sparks wouldn't be denied, and fate is involved as well. It took them on a journey that was super fun to witness, though I was still filled with hurt for Quinn. Listen to me talk about Quinn like she was my bestie in real life, but that's the beauty of the brilliant A.K. Evans, she transports us fully into her world, and I'm tired of not being able to stay there full time honestly. So how does Betrayed pan out?! You'll have to hit that one click button to find out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO ALL!
It took me 2 days to finish this one. For some reason I couldn’t connect with the story or characters. There was a couple of things that irritated me.
1. His family and her sister. Goodness his sisters and sisters in-law were the most annoying and meddling women there was. Her sister had diarrhea of the mouth. She blurted out all the heroine’s life story the second they met his sisters.
2. The lack of professionalism these men had. The cop and his boss talking between them about the heroine’s satin nighties. It was creepy. His boss passing her info to him because he wanted hero to end up with her. He said something around the lines if it wasn’t the hero it would’ve been the other single man in his company. Instead of security company’s name it should have been “Cunningham matchmaking.”
3. Heroine fainting in front of his parents when she first met them. 🤦🏻♀️
This is one of my all-time favorite series. Quinn made me sympathize with her feelings betrayed by her husband and trust issues. She’s not sure if she ever wants to open herself up enough to have another relationship again. Enter Tyson Reed. When he met Quinn, he knew he wanted her. He was patient yet persistent with her feelings surpassed her fears. There was also suspense and drama which added another layer to the story. I adored Tyson’s family as well as being able to catch up with past couples. It felt like coming home. This series is definitely re-read worthy, especially this latest addition. I would recommend Betrayed to fellow readers in a hot minute. Always look forward to this authors books.
Quinn thought she was living the perfect life only to find out it was nothing but a lie perpetrated by those that she thought she could trust which only makes the hurt that much more intense. In her head she knows the last thing she needs is to get involved with Tyson, but her heart doesn’t seem to agree.
Tyson works for Cunningham Security and what was supposed to be a simple assignment has become complicated. He is drawn to Quinn in a way he has never felt before but is she willing to open her heart and her life to love once again?
It was great to watch the relationship between Quinn and Tyson unfold and to catch up with all the characters we know and love.
I didn't think I could love this series more than I already did but I was soooo wrong. Betrayed is exactly what we have come to love about the Cunninghan Security series and even more. Want a swoony man who know exactly how to take care of a woman? Want a woman who is strong, caring and little quirky? Want some drama and suspense? Betrayed does it all!
I loved Tyson and Quinn and can't wait for you to get your hands on them.
This is the 8th novel in this amazing series and hats off to this author as each story just seems to get better and better. Quinn is newly divorced and the last thing she wants in another relationship, that is until Tyson arrives to install her security system. This is a beautifully written tale which is filled with betrayal, heartbreak, suspense, drama and love which all had me intrigued and hooked throughout this addictive page turner. I highly recommend this gifted authors’ work for all.
This is a beautiful book about finding out how to live and love again after tragedy. I loved that our heroine had enough confidence in herself to try again, and that our hero was really a wonderful and tender man.
was asked to read an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review 📚
This book was not only the first book I read in this series but also the first book I have ever read by this author. This one is number 8 in a series and can completely be read as a stand alone book, though of course I now want to go back and read the first 7.
One of the reasons this book really resonated with me is that it was so similar to my life on so many reasons.
1. The cheating husband
2. Living away from home (I live in NZ my family in the UK)
3. Hot as guy came to help her out (first time I met my 2nd husband he came to fix my oven)
4. Family orientated (my husband comes from a family where family means everything, they are all loyal and not one of them would have it in them to step out of their relationship)
Lots more but those were the 4 that really stuck out for me.
This book was so well written and flowed exceptionally well from one part of the story until the next.
What Quinn went through at the start of the book has to be every women's nightmare. Well done her on dealing with it the way that she did and for coming out of the whole situation on top. She was a very strong woman and while she had some insecurities they did not determine who she is as a person.
Tyson, what an absolute gentleman, his whole personality was just beautiful. Yes he is single, but he is happy being that way and doing what he loves in life. He is not going to just settle for someone for the sake of it. Nope he will get involved with the right woman.
I loved the dynamic between Quinn and Tyson, you could just see this pair got on so well, and really enjoyed each others company.
They both come from amazing families, full of love and support. One of my favourite scenes from the book humor wise had to be with Quinn's parents, seriously I re-read that scene a few times just laughing to myself.
The twist in this book was totally unexpected and so well played. Great addition to this storyline.
Will quinn conquer her fears of the past, will Tyson be patient enough? I guess you need to read this book and see 📚
This was my first book by this author and I know after reading this it will not be my last. Quinn thought she had a good, happy married life, BUT that was definitely not the case. Ultimately betrayed by her best friend and her husband, she moves on and has a new outlook on life. Take care of herself and her future. She has a self made business and is doing pretty well on her own. Then she meets Tyson Reed. Tyson is making her feel things, want things, and Tyson for sure knows, he's found his one. Not sure if she wants to put her heart on the line so quickly but there is something about this guy thats just crawling into her heart and not wanting him to leave. These two were quite adorable with each other. I really enjoyed meeting the cast of characters which are in other books in the series, I may have to catch up reading those. There is a touch of suspense, although, I was hoping for more suspense but this was good. I enjoyed it.
This series is a must read!!! I love being able to follow all of the guys and their love stories!!! I love Tyson and his patience with Quinn, and Quinn for opening her heart again to love! Great book! Must read!
I really liked this one. This was recommended in a reading group and I'm so glad I read it. Tyson meets Quinn at her lowest point and knew that she was the one. But he knew he had to bide his time with her because she wasn't ready. And when she was it was hot between these two!! Liked Cassies side story and the twist at the end
Quinn experienced the worst kind of betrayal possible but she moved on. On her first night in her new house bought with her money alone she’s woken up from a deep sleep to the house alarm going off. What she didn’t expect was to meet Tyson thanks to those alarms. He makes her feel for the first time since she walked away from her marriage. Is she ready to move on and be in a serious relationship? Or will those old hurts stand in her way from getting a HEA with Tyson? Tyson has no problem admitting settling down sounds nice but you have to find a woman to do that with and he hasn’t found her yet. When his boss sends him on a job, he never expected to want the client. But here he is wanting her. Tyson’s a patient man so he’s willing to wait, but will his patience run out before Quinn is ready? I loved the dynamic between Quinn and Tyson. Both came from extremely warm families who just wanted the best for their loved one and accepted who they chose. Evan’s wrote a great story that had me hooked and I couldn’t wait to find out what happened in the end. If you take a chance on Betrayed I think you will highly enjoy it. Plot-5/5 Characters-5/5 Heat-5/5 Writing style-5/5 Overall-5/5
What do you do when all the people you believed loved you betray you? You pick up the pieces and try to move on with your life. You move on and guard your heart with everything you have.
Quinn is recently divorced and starting to pick up the pieces after she was deceived by the people closest to her. Quinn doesn't think she is ready for a new relationship as she is still mending her heart. That is until she meet Tyson.
Tyson was given the job to install a new security system at Quinn's new home. He comes from a large with with sisters that like to get involved in his love life. Tyson isn't exactly looking for love but he is also not hiding from it. When he meets Quinn all that goes out the window. He knows he has to have her.
A.K.Evans has hit another home run in this series. She writes about real issues and how men should be treating women.
This author continues to prove that she’s got too many ideas in her head to get stale, and Tyson and Quinn’s story may be among the best so far! Quinn is putting herself back together and learning to live her new life as a single woman, but then she meets Tyson. And she’s not sure that she wants to be single anymore. As for Tyson, he knows from the first second that he could easily fall in love with Quinn, and he’d be happy to prove it...if he ever gets a chance to even kiss her!
I adored Quinn, Tyson, and their families. They all stuck together when the times were funny, sad, scary, or rough, and not one person was willing to let another down. In a way, Quinn got the best of two families: Tyson’s actual family and his work family. Because we all know that the men of Cunningham Security stick together and have each other’s backs, ALWAYS. And that bonus epilogue? Pure gold. I can’t wait to revisit this group of friends-turned-family in Gunner’s book.
Oh wow I love this series. With each book you think they can’t get any better but each one brings something different. I love seeing all the other characters and knowing that they’re all happy and still together. This book was Tyson and Quinn’s story. It was a real journey to see Quinn going from heartache to joy. Along the way we got to meet the Reed family with their significant others. As always there’s drama and intrigue mixed in there too. What stood out tho for me was the pure love this family created. The bond and commitment they had for each other was truly amazing. Even tho I was sad to get to the end I left the book feeling happy and contented knowing that all was well in their lives. Now I can’t wait for Gunner’s story. Lovely book.
This series is a must read!!! I love being able to follow all of the guys and their love stories!!! I love Tyson and his patience with Quinn, and Quinn for opening her heart again to love! Great book! Must read!
Awesome!! I loved Quinn and Tyson’s story! The best part was about 3/4 of the way in when things really start to get interesting. This story was very well written, and captivates your heart. Tyson’s family is a riot! I loved the added characters. They just made the story even better than it already was!
So I started this book at 2am bc I couldn't sleep. I then proceeded to binge 75% of it and finished the rest later that day! It only took me so long to get back to it because of silly work 😜. Totally binge worthy with flowing story and likable characters!!
Quinn Jacobs is shocked when she is betrayed by her husband and best friend but now she is ready for a fresh start at her new place. Yet when her alarm goes off in the middle of the night she knows she has to get it updated quick before she has many more sleepless nights.
Tyson Reed works for Cunningham Security and is sent to update Quinn’s security system. He knows he needs to make her feel safe as soon as possible as he has sisters and knows what he needs to do.
Will Tyson be able to get Quinn to learn to trust him or does her lack of trust destroy everything?
This book was better than the last one but Tyson’s family can be a little much as was Quinn’s sister. That being said I did like this one better.
Quinn deserves everything after her world is shattered by those she trusted and I love that she has her own goals that she wants to obtain and reach. She is going to have her own business and do what she loves.
Tyson comes from a huge family of meddling siblings and sometimes they were a bit much but meant well. Quinn of course isn’t used to it at all but is embraced by them and realizes they truly love Tyson and want to see him happy.
Quinn and Tyson are a little slower coming together which was great to see as it felt more natural and I was happy for a getting to know you period. Of course stuff heated up which is the case in these books but it was better.
There was a little more mystery in this book which was nice and the villain in this book was a little bit surprising as I felt like it showed Quinn in somewhat of a negative light as it portrayed as her too trusting and with everything that happened in her marriage I was surprised that she didn’t change certain things.
The end was good and looking forward to what’s next. 4 Stars- Rebecca
I love the second chance Quinn got and that she found a man who was willing to be patient while she healed over her husband and best friend's deceit...I really like that part. But in full honesty, the "girl drama" turned me off a little. And perhaps Kit Swann did a little to good of a job at whiney voices...insert my laughter here. I do not say any of this to be mean. I love variety in characters in a series and that every one even though different gets their perfect HEA. I'm just explaining why personally for me, I rated it what I did. I've always had a difficult time being around "normal" women as I didn't get those typical traits and had a hard time blending with them...hence why I work in a 99% guy industry. And every woman with a prominent role in this book seemed to have those traits I personally cringe at...again I'm laughing as I write this but it's the truth...guess that's why Tyson was used to it as his sisters were dramatic in their own right? I did love though how even in the book some of these traits were referred to as "crazy" multiple times. Maybe melodramatic is a good word? I also cringed at how they ended up in each other's vincity... I do not want to say anything on spoilers but I think saying a little too staged and pushed may give enough of a hint... something just bugged me and kept bugging me on that... But they fell in love and got a HEA so kudos there. And we get a brief time of danger and suspense that actually came with a surprise as to the guilty party to round out the story. Definitely interested to see how the last man's HEA will come about.
FTC DISCLAIMER: I RECEIVED AN E-ARC FROM THE PUBLISHER THROUGH ONE OF A VARIETY OF SOURCES. I VOLUNTARILY OFFER MY HONEST REVIEW OF THE BOOK, THOUGH IT IS NOT EXPECTED OF ME! RECEIPT OF THIS BOOK IN THIS MANNER DOES NOT AFFECT MY OPINION OF THE BOOK OR THE CONTENT OF MY REVIEW!
I've read every book by this author to date, and I have to say that I count her among my top ten favorites, but this installment of the series kinda missed the mark for me. That's not to say that it wasn't a great read, because it absolutely was, but I had some issues with it.
My biggest problem was that it seemed like everything was handled "off page" and the readers are just told about it later. It made the book feel a little rushed, and wasn't as satisfying to read. I also didn't like the events that happened toward the end of the book, because they felt tacked on, as if the author needed a suspense aspect to her plot. The book didn't need it, in my opinion!
I loved how Tyson helped Quinn restore her faith in relationships! She had picked herself up and moved on, but Tyson really reinforced that "glue job" for her. I also loved how strong, independent and brave Quinn was! She's a great example of thriving after divorce!
All things considered, I'm eager to see where the final book of the series takes us!
A.K. Evans brings readers Tyson and Quinn’s story in Betrayed.
Betrayed and deceived by her cheating husband of seven years and her best friend, Quinn’s divorce is final and she’s ready to start moving on with her life, even if it means starting over. When the security system in her new house needs an upgrade, she meets Tyson. And, while she isn’t ready for a relationship, she also can’t let him walk away when the job is finished.
Tyson is happy being single for the most part, but from the minute he sets eyes on Quinn, he is a goner. He knows she’s been hurt and needs to learn to trust again, and he’s totally okay at going her pace. He’s kind and patient, living and loyal, and shows Quinn how she should have been treated by the man in her life all along.
This is definitely a slow burn of a romance, which was all kinds of yummy sweetness! On a super cute side story, Cassie (Quinn’s sister) and Kyle (Tyson’s brother) also form a romance which adds to all the feels that this book has going on.
Betrayed is truly about learning to love and trust again. It’s full of love and laughter, family and friends and just enough drama and a crazy twist to throw a bit of the unexpected in for readers. 4 stars

This is the first book I've read by this author. I really like second chance romances, but I was disappointed with this one, it felt clunky and oversimplified, and explained itself too much. Example: "It had been the longest week ever. And I knew that made no literal sense given the fact that unless daylight savings was beginning, every week had the same amount of time as the one before. But it felt like it had been longer than usual." We understand, it's called hyperbole, and if you feel the need to explain it to us, you've wasted our time as well as yours. And if one character "dipped their chin" once, they all did it, sometimes on every other page. When the break-in happens and they ask her if she has anything anyone would want to steal, she and everyone around her draws a blank, even though she's a jewelry maker and has precious metals and stones in her workspace. Then final straw was as when the heroine, along with a group of other women, are confronted by her crazy ex friend with a gun, first she cones in with no mask, then they smart off to her like they think they can snark or shame her into leaving. Not a keeper.
We are back with the hunky guys of Cunningham Security in this latest addition to the series. A story that is “softer” than the previous ones , but just as good. During Quinn Jacobs’s seven year marriage she was sure she had it all. A loving husband , money and friends. That all came tumbling down when her best friend and her husband betrayed her. Now divorced, she is determined to leave everything behind. Moving to a new home, she feels a need of an updated security system and contacts Cunningham Security. When Tyson Reed is sent over, neither expected the attraction. But Quinn has been hurt before . Knowing her past, Tyson is determined to be patient and show her that second chances in love and life do exist. Tyson was the perfect person to show her what her future could be. This was another engaging and entertaining audiobook in this much loved series. One of my favorite things in the story was catching up with the characters from previous books. Looking forward to the next one in the series. The narrations of CJ Mission and Kit Swann bring the story to life. I was entrusted a copy of this audiobook. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Lonely, betrayed and heartbroken described Quinn Jacobs after she found her best friend who was to be her partner in a new jewelry business in bed with Quinn’s husband of seven years! Still vulnerable but moving on with a rapidly growing business, Quinn moves into her new house. Her alarm goes off in the wee hours for no reason, come morning she calls Cunningham Security, they send Tyson Reed to review and update her system.
Tyson’s over his family hinting how he needs a lady-friend and his boss makes sure to tell him Quinn’s sing. At first glance, Tyson’s interested and out-of-practice Quinn is panting but has no clue what she should do but Tyson’s patient. Things are smooth until a burglary at Quinn’s make the police and the boys at Cunningham concerned for her safety when apparently nothing’s missing.
While this outing is an overall fun read and the boys get to strut their stuff, it feels quite rushed during the last quarter plus it felt more of a CR than RS read. (And the knocking was…) Rating: 3.75stars
Title: Betrayed Author: A. K. Evans Format: ebook Genre: Romantic Suspense Standalone: yes Part of a Series: Book 8 of Cunningham Security POV: Brynn, Tyson Steam Level: Slow burn to steamy 5/5
Betrayed is book 8 of Cunningham Security. Brynn and Tyson meet after Quinn’s divorce is finalized and she moved into her new home where her security alarm malfunctions the first night. I enjoyed some of the sublet callbacks to earlier books and brief mention of a movie star who is a character in another series at a later time. At this point I’ve read most of bither series so enjoyed the y. It’s always fun when authors do that and a wink and a nod to their fans.
Anyway I enjoyed Brynn and Tyson’s story. The side characters were a riot. I also liked that I was only half right on my guess for the mystery. I also loved how it was resolved. It made me giggle a bit. A lot of this story made me smile. And also the closure that was give.
