Easy to read cozy mystery stories set around Kay, a widow who has let some rooms in her house to a Judge and his children, the Judge is going through a divorce.
By day, Kay works for a Bail agent and in her spare time, she has a knack for solving murders which she just so happens to come across, so much so that she's got her PI licence. She also sees ghosts!
She's on a skiing holiday with the Judge, Madison and Henry, when they take a wrong turn and come across a fire, and a dead body.
Best read in order of publication to preserve continuity of the characters. A lovely series of books, ideal for an evening!

Like these books
I like the people and the mysteries. If I remember right she was sixty last year, and the judge is only in his early fifties. Sounds like 8 - 10 years difference. Maybe. I did chuckle when Kay said UPS didn't delivery drugs. Yes they do, all the time. The communities where drugs are delivered send out the word that no one is to mess with the drivers. How do u think UPS or FedEx could possibly know what was in the packages. But I still like the books. Authors don't always get things they write about correct.

Things are beating up
Another gentle murder mystery that Kay gets involved in while on a skiing trip with the judge and his kids. While things are hotting up for a local under suspicion of the murder and arson whom Kay thinks is innocent, things are beating up a bit for Kay and the judge personally. Delightful characters.

Awesome Book!
I finished the 10 books in this series and I have enjoyed all of them. The books are filled with mystery, ghosts, fun, love and warmth. It was fun and entertaining to see Kay’s life change after she met the Judge and his family. And, how her job has taken her into new territory. Each book is better than the last. I can’t wait for the next book.

Love this ongoing series of the life of Kay going on a ski trip with the judge and his children. Kay and the judge go skiing on their own and get lost and come to a farm house where the barn is on fire and a body is found. Kay sees the ghost of the man who died in the fire and now she and the judge doing the sleuthing finding out what really happened.

Enjoyed the series
I enjoyed the series, the characters, the writing, contributed to a fun time reading. Portraying a 60 years old, childless, no remaining blood family person can still have a wonderfully full life if the perspective, integrity and courage are there!

Thoroughly enjoyed
Loved the insight Kay describes when she talks about fear, guilt, etc. after her husband's death. My husband has just died, and these insights are comforting and much appreciated.

I like this series better with each audiobook! A ski vacation in CO, a creative mystery, a probable romance evolving at just the right pace, excellent writing and talented narration kept me engaged and well entertained! If only all of the audiobooks in the series were available on Hoopla.

Judge and his two kids embark on a ski trip and danger can’t keep Kay alone as a wrong turn on the slopes put the Judge and Kay at an old farmstead with the barn on fire. Unbeknown to them, the fire contains the body of the owner of the farmstead and opens up a whole lot of mystery that Kay can’t stay away from.
Another fun read where Kay and the judge becomes closer in there relationship, but is Kay ready to let go of her past and the memory of deceased hubby?
Four stars.
