Carnival of Fear
An unsuspecting carnival is about to get a dose of serial killer magic.
After two successful completed objectives, our not-so-friendly Spirit Core finds himself in an unexpected location. Instead of “haunting” a house and killing the residents inside using their own fear against them, the intangible entity ends up arriving at his new objective floating above a traveling carnival, of all places.
Now, the reincarnated soul of emotionless serial killer, Clive Logan, must successfully kill at least some of the carnival’s visitors – but how? Luckily, the Goddess of the Underworld has provided the Spirit Core with a variety of new mechanics suited to his new location; these mechanics will allow Clive to raise their FEAR Levels up to the point where they can be killed from fear alone. Coupled with his minions, Preston and Brittany Miller – who are due to arrive any day – it should be a simple enough execution of his objective.
Unfortunately, there are forces waging their efforts against him. Father Stryker is closing in on his location; if Clive makes a wrong move, he could end up being exorcized and destroyed, ending his reign of death before he could really get his momentum going. Added to that, the carnival’s employees have a secret that they are hiding, which could potentially bring more attention to his location than he’d prefer.

As good as the rest of the series. The change in locales helps keep the series fresh. I can hardly wait for the next installment.

Can’t wait for the next book.
Horror is probably my most favorite genre. I love almost all of this author’s books, but this series have always been my favorite! I love that the location gives more opportunities to play around with. In a lot of ways, this killer reminds me of Freddy Krueger. I was hoping for some (not all) of the carnival goers escape, but I still love the ending battle.

I really enjoyed the setup of these books not only do you have the reverse main character with Clive being the bad guy but it also leaves you wanting to know what's going to happen next how is he going to kill these people. This one was no exception this one had the added benefit of added mystery because things changed so radically and that ending was amazing I absolutely can't wait for the next book.

The Game Is Afoot!
Clive Logan, serial killer and spirit core, has had great success in his previous two missions for the Goddess of the Underworld. He's stolen nearly a dozen innocent souls and sent them to his mistress' eternal tortures. However, his success has caught the attention of investigators in both the Earthly and Spiritual Planes. The investigators in the Spiritual Plane are the Goddess of the Underworld's problem, but Clive must contend with the Exorcist, Father Stryker, and his team of paranormal investigators who are tracking the "unusual events" which accompany paranormal activities, such as his FEAR Attacks.
This novel, and the two preceding it in the series, may be of interest to fans of the wider Horror genre; and possibly to those who enjoy playing Horror Themed RPGs.

Enjoyable read
While it may seem weird to “root” for the villain it is interesting to me to see the way things play out with the growth of the abilities.
A bit of a spoiler
While I see the point of the extra minions feels a bit cheap to just number them but I can understand the use of them (as I said before.). Only other thing I would say is sometimes the skills bit overly drawn out but could be just the sporadic nature of my attention span as of late. I enjoyed the book all the same and look forward to the next one

Yet another fun read
The paranormal litrpg series is definitely my favorite of Jonathan Brooks, and this book delivered hard. Nothing highlights good horror than when you're both rooting for a character to survive and for them to die horribly. I had that experience here. I can't wait for the next book to find out where Clive went next.

Clive is back!
The third installment comes back with Clive and his minions and what a come back it was. I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. Definitely a good spooker!

Could not put it down.
This third book is makes this series his best one yet. A must read for all fans of little and horror.

What you see might be illusionary, but the fear is real
In this book Clive has a whole Carnival as his playground and more helpers to bring the fear. Where will he go next? I will have to keep reading to find out.
