Ever lock eyes with someone from across the room and know it was sinful?
SAINTDeliciously dangerous and addictive. That’s how I felt when I kissed her. My gut knew she was trouble before my heart did, but she betrayed both. I swore on my Crowne family, that trust was something I’d never give twice. But with the past creeping back to light - and her along with it - it seems my world might fall victim to the messy kind of secrets I’m usually so good at cleaning up.TARAJIf sin had a taste, it would be him. But in our world, trust isn’t given, it’s only received once you’ve proven your loyalty. I doubt he’ll ever look at me the same again, but he’s the only person I can turn to. The only one for the job. It takes one look from him to know I’m in more trouble than I thought. He might be a saint, but sinful is his nature. Unfortunately for me, I’ve always been the sinning type. Please Sins of a Saint contains sex, violence, and profanity and is the thrilling introduction into the Crowne family. It is not required to read the sexy, fast-burn prelude - Face Down Fridays - first, but highly recommended for overall enjoyment. For years, these Chicago siblings have lived by the code, Know Thy Enemy. However, what seems too good to be true usually is. Some say mafia. They say family. Can they trust their allies and defend the Crowne legacy? Or will they realize that loyalty, love, and honor are luxuries they can't afford?

Sins of a Saint had me by the neck! The audiobook was done well and I could distinctly see the whole story playing out in my head. Saint and Taraj were clearly still in love with each other. Their chemistry was evident and the sexual tension oozed off the pages. There were a couple plot twists that I didn’t expect but they were timely. I enjoyed this one so much! Looking forward to the next Crowne story.
Sins of a Saint is the second installment of the Crowne Legacy series. The author gets your attention with this series, don't expect the same voice you've had in the past. This series is telling a story of a family with a unique dynamic. Much like a chessboard, every person has a position.
First, we have Saint Crowne, a trained professional cleaner. He runs a crew called the Drifters, an on-call professional cleaning service. I will leave that right here for you to get your conclusion. Taraj Walker is a bit of a wild card in this one. She is a female assassin; specialty: knives. Here is where the story starts to twist. Saint and Taraj have a history that stems from childhood and then intimacy. When Saint is called to do a job, he comes face to face with the one that broke his heart. She makes a proposition that defies comprehension, giving the fact of all that has happened between them. So you can imagine having to work with someone with tension so thick it could become life-threatening.
The story journeys through the past and gets you caught up without revealing all the pieces of the puzzle.
Sins of a Saint is a well-written story with great character development. With all the secrets, fine lines between legal/illegal the author do a great job in keeping you on the edge of your seat waiting for what will happen next. Even though this was suspenseful, I would be remiss if I didn't mention all the heat that ignites between Saint and Taraj, even amidst all the dangers.
One of the best parts of the book is the strong cast of characters that had a voice throughout the entire book. This Crowne Family is a force to be reckoned with and if you fall in their crosshair....well, let's just say in the next one...
Reader Note: I recommend taking in Carter #Undoing and Face Down Friday before diving into this one. While it is not mandatory, it would help provide some insight into the already complicated characters. Happy Reading
Sins of a Saint is book two in the Crowne Legacy series. We first met Saint in “Carter’s Undoing” and learn a little more about him in “Face down Fridays”. This book has a different feel than previous Sherelle Green books. It’s not all warm and fuzzy and has a dark edge to it. The Crowne Family is on a mission and everyone has a role to play. We get much more background on the adopted siblings and their parents.
Saint “Scotch” Crowne has known Taraj Walker since they were eight. There were together and were in love. Then Taraj left Saint for his best friend Voshon. Part of the story line is the revelation of why their relationship ended. Taraj and Voshon need the Crowne Families help which of course means that Saint and Taraj will be spending more time together. An innocent kiss between Taraj and Saint becomes so much more. Taraj has some secrets she needs to reveal in order for them to move forward. Even though the story has some dark edges, the steamy elements are still there. Saint does not beat around the bush and lets Taraj know he wants her. The scene in the club was off the chain!
There is brewing drama as the family discovers their enemies are coming to the surface. There was a totally unexpected event that kept me on my toes until the end. I enjoyed the theme of second chance love. There are also suspenseful themes that keep the reader wanted more. The chapter titles are catchy and gave me an idea of what was coming next. Sins of a Saint is a great continuation of the series, and I will be looking out for what’s next from Ms. Green.
I absolutely love this series. Am I weird for wishing the books were longer! Lol! These characters are finding their way into my heart and I love that they are not to be played with. Even the females will cut you! Lol! Don't let Cookie get her hands on you!!!
Sins of a Saint is book two of the Crowne Legacy series. This read is different from book one as it has bite behind the bark we got in Face Down Fridays, because we all knew that these Crowne’s were about that “life” just didn’t get the details like we did in this read. Let me explain.
I don’t believe this is a spoiler but we learn that all the siblings are adopted and that each plays a very distinct role in the family organization. Our hero is Saint “Scotch” Crowne, a dark and brooding personality with dreads and light eyes. He is the “cleaner” of the family. Our heroine is Taraj “Tequila” Walker, think, pretty but deadly. She likes to get up close and personal on that last part as her weapon of choice is a knife. 🗡
This is a second chance dark romance/erotica so these two used to date and ended because one of them crossed a major line if you ask me. Now, their adult sessions are super hot and passion filled just based on their past, what is currently happening and apparently lady parts have memories too because Taraj is just going with whatever, whenever and wherever Scotch wants to remind her of what she is missing. 🤤
This story started off as a recovery mission and turned into a mystery of who is plotting against the Crownes! It has great world building and character development. Even the siblings that weren't the main character we got to know them more in this longer read. I will be continuing this series because I must find out what’s to happen next. 4 Stars ✨
This is a different type of story for Sherelle, but she is bringing the fire. She has me totally invested and waiting to see what comes next. I mean I went through a ton of emotions reading this story. I had no clue this was the direction of the series from “Face Down Friday’s”. But baby if this is what it is bring on book 3.
3.75 ⭐️ I’m just now venturing into “mafia” series. This is interesting. If my romance has violence it’s usually just a single assassin, but this “mafia” shit is an interesting sub-genre. I’ll continue the series and if I’m wowed by one of these books I’ll probably dig deeper into the sub-genre.
This book feels like a daytime soap opera or a BET movie. It was bad and enjoyable at the same time. I can’t complain too much because I think I’m going to try the 3rd book in the series. Each one is really more like a novella so it’s a quick easy read.
First, Hollis is a Complete Fool🤣🤣🤣. I LOVE him. He for sure needs a book for himself.
Now, onto this book. Leave it to Sherelle Green to take you on this exploration of emotions that you didn't know you needed until you were already in it. And boy oh boy did I go through it with Taraj and Saint.
Taraj and Saint 'Scotch' Crowne were soul mates, yet life happened and interrupted what should've been a continuation of them living and eventually becoming one. The separation broke Saint and, as we come to find out, Taraj as well bc it's due to a secret she has that breaks them apart.
Years have passed when they meet up again in this book and it's not welcomed by Saint to be in the same space as Taraj. He's never stopped loving her, yet her betrayal that she commits along with his ex best friend, is one he's having a hard time letting go of. Time slowly reveals that in order to do the job the Crownes' must do to save his ex-best friend, he has to release Taraj from his heart, yet he can't.
All the twist and turns were a bit overwhelming, yet that one with Tristan, Saints sister-in-law and Taraj best friend, was one I wasn't ready for😲.
It was good seeing Carter and Serenity pop up in this book. I love those two.
I liked that we got to get more of how the Crowne family rolls. This bond they have is so great to read.
Looking forward to reading about Jedidiah, aka Jackie D., in the next book. He's been a mystery for me and I'm ready for more insight.
This book gave so much more than I expected, especially after reading the novella. The one drawback, (I am not sure if I want to refer to it as a drawback) was that there were so many Crowne siblings. Not to mention the secondary or tertiary characters.
The narration was also on point. I love listening to Wesleigh Siobhan. I have heard Sean Crisden narrate another author's books, and I thought he was OK, but he did his thang with this one.
There were lots of emotions flowing through this storyline. Pain, anger, frustration, fear, love, and sadness to name a few. There were a number of moments of darkness, but I could not overlook the loyalty, support, and love exhibited. The Crowne family definitely had their own moral code.
I was wondering how Saint and Taraj were going to reconcile their issues when the secrets started to come out. Whew! I liked them together, but their romance definitely did not overshadow the rest of the plot.
I have to mention Cookie Cutter. There was one scene that had Cookie Cutter and Hollis in it. I was wiping tears, they were so funny. What kind of made it worse because there was nothing funny about the situation.
I don't want to forget the elements of romance, and the heat. There was a lot going on in this book. It got me hooked. I have to see what happens with the rest of the Crownes.
This an amazing story. The family that unites is a family who can overcome any obstacles and challenges. I am in awe with Saint, he is strong and sensitive to matters of the heart and life. I can’t wait to read who did this to Tristan and how the family is going to handle it.
I went into this one blind after reading the prequel novella that came first. There's a lot of things inside about the Crowne Family, and you're only given pieces at a time. Their mother/matriarch is a clear leader, and the band of brothers all work in some capacity for the family. The Mafia vibes are very much there, and it seems like there are a lot of moving pieces of a puzzle all trying to make sense.
Saint is a clean up guy for the family, and one night he crosses paths with the woman who once broke his heart. She needs his help, but he's not sure if he's willing to get his family involved. Their interactions are very rigid, yet there's an undertone of something between the two of them...this unspoken longing that they both have for each other.
There's secrets upon secrets in this story, but once the revelations of past situations come to light, it's easy to see just how these two are meant for each other. Their second chance romance was emotional and sexy at the same time.
I'm intrigued and plan to continue reading this series.
I already knew I was going to be all in for the Crowne's series when I was reading Carter's Undoing and then To Marry a Madden. I was super excited and read both books in one day. Then I read the first two books of The Crowne's Series in one day. Spoil Alert!! I was so thrilled for Nash and Jade in Face Down Friday's. Somehow I knew from the first page of Saint and Taraj 's story that my heart was going to break. I cried so much and so hard that I literally had to walk away for about ten minutes. This book will have you experiencing EVERY EMOTION that the characters felt. Mrs. Green I'm not sure how long I can hold out for the next book. I'm impatiently waiting for the next book. Right now my heart is heavy and I'm mad as Hell. Not at you Mrs. Green, at least not really. Just a pinch. I'm ready to grab my guns and knives and bury some bodies. Excellent Read!!!!
So going in I had high expectations for this story because I know how Sherelle Green gets down with her pen game. But mannnnnnnn this story was nothing I hoped it to be. It was BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!! This story showed a growth in Green’s writing skills. This story broke my heart, made me LOL quite a few times, and had me wanting it to never end. Sis showed she’s more than just a romance writer. The Crowne Legacy series will definitely be one of her best series to date and that’s saying a lot when we are only 2 books into it. After finishing this story I’m officially #Scotch_hungover! I can’t wait to see what happens next. #SinfullyFedbyaSaint #Liquorboysdoitbest #Str8SCOTCHnochaser #CrowneLegacy #everygirlsfavoritesinnerisaSAINT
A very good story. I’m glad I took the risk to read it. I were kind of skeptical after reading that first book in Crowne book series. There so much I love about this book, family bonding even though their no blood relationships, the characters connections, the humor they share with each other, the grandmother Queenie, their Alpha mother Duchess, and I loved the actions and their crazy occupations. I love the author writing style, even though it has a HEA it was not an predictable romance story even though you know they would end up a romance couple. And I love that twist even though I hated it happened. It’s a great story and I’m now compelled to start the third book in the Crowne series.
I was excited about reading this book after Face Down Fridays as I wanted to know more about the Crowne family. Unfortunately this story fell flat for me. There was so much potential in the storyline but I felt more and more disconnected from the leads as the story progressed. I think there were too many other characters in the story and after a while it became a distraction. I really wanted this story to go well as I love romantic suspense yet it didn't pan out the way I desired. I don't know if I want to continue this series.
This was a love story about Taraj Walker and Saint Crowne. For over the past four years he thought she was involved with his former best friend but that was a fake relationship because he was running for a Senate seat but someone wanted him dead. They finally reunited as a couple but still were attempting to determine who had a hit Voshon. They in the interim found their happily ever after.
Female assassin. Second chance. Angst because he thinks she is involved with his friend. What is not to like?! Highly enjoyable.
------------------------------------------------------- ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I loved this book ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I really liked this book ⭐⭐⭐ I liked this book ⭐⭐ Meh...bored or annoyed ⭐ What did I just read?!
Man I had real tears for Creed cause he lost his wife. That was so crazy but I have a feeling that the rest of the Crowne series will explain they why’s. Glad Saint finally got the truth about the two most important people in his life and was able to get his girl back.
This is a family unlike any other I’ve read. I wasn’t ready for everything that happened in this book but I’m hooked and can’t wait for the next book to see how this story plays out.
I truly enjoyed this story! It was great to see Carter and Serenity in this one. I can truly say that this one tugs on your heart strings because of what happens to Tristian. Saint is definitely no Saint. That man had me fanning myself.
Great read, I enjoyed the characters and storyline. Saint and Taraj are good match. They were long time friends and lovers who parted due to a perceived betrayal. They reconnected and worked through their misunderstandings. There action, tragedy and erotica.
