Some parts of this were very well-written. It had all the usual holes in characterization, plot and worldbuilding you would expect something like this to have, but I was in the mood for something good but not too good in this particular kind of way, and it totally satisfied that. (And then was like a dozen scenes/sequences too long, but I guess I expected that too.)

Did I rip through this in two hours? Yes I did, in part because I’ve just learned that this fic author is actually the author responsible for the novel In Memoriam, which was shortlisted for every prize under the sun.

Give me all the Potterverse characters dealing with postwar guilt/PTSD. In The Bolthole, 20-something Draco lost a surrogate father who took him in after his Death Eater days. His good friends Ron and Hermione suggest that he not be alone and that their bestie Harry Potter look after him for a little bit. However, thanks to years of PTSD and a lifetime taking care of others, 20-something Harry has become a reclusive hoarder living in a house that should be condemned. The last thing he wants to deal with is his enemy turned acquaintance turned roommate.

Of course he does figure out how to deal with Draco, and this becomes a very slow burn enemies to lovers, with a focus on healing past grief/trauma.

Hermione asks Harry is Draco can stay with him for awhile as he is dealing with loss. This makes them both look into their past, reopen wounds, and maybe start anew. It is a perfectly fine fic that its very well written. However, it features miscommunication that did not make sense to me along with other points.

If you’re not into mischaracterization you probably won’t enjoy this. Because the mischaracterization was through the roof. Heh. Get it. Through the roof? Eh you’ll get it if you read the fic. Anyway. It was cute. Good for what it was.

Harry hoards, Draco makes sex jokes about everyone and everything, and they are both pining and can't communicate properly. A cottage fic that is heart wrenchingly wonderful, as are most things aideomai, tepre, and galla write.

Also featuring a Harry that is scared of cows, and likes oversized beach balls.
