The South Bridge, linking the Royal Mile with Edinburgh's Southside, has stood for over 200 years since the 1780s. Beneath the shops and the road stand 19 enormous arches which support the bridge. In the arches are vaulted chambers, linked by a honeycomb of passageways.

It was a quick read - only near to 50 pages but provided a good picture of 19 vaults under South Bridge in Edinburgh - one of my favorite cities on Earth! The short guidebook will also give you a taste of life in this beautiful city 200 years ago with some haunted stories about spirits under the bridge.

A short but detailed book of this Edinburgh historical landmark, with good illustrations of what the vaults looked like in the past, the various uses of them and what has since been found on the tours that operate now.
