(Tw: sexual abuse) I've real plenty of gruesome and difficult books, but this was one of the most difficult, or even The most difficult books I've ever read. It made me physically sick, I was so close to throwing up in parts. I was so ready to quit, but always continued, because this is an important story. I think everyone should read this book, but only if they are strong enough to handle the extremely (!) graphic descriptions of abuse and horrible scenes of **pe.
I can imagine these happenings left a mark on this woman, and she is an incredibly brave, incredible person, but in ways, this book is also extremely traumatizing and distressing. In parts it feels like it could have softened the words, it was so descriptive in some scenes; the scenes were so long, descriptive and sickening, I had a lot of difficulties to think why they had to be so graphic, **pe is **pe, even if you don't describe every single gruesome thing in graphic detail.
