Marry the Scot #3.5-5

Marry the Scot Series: Volume II

Rate this book
A desperate woman and the Scot she can't have.

A single dad fighting for his bairn, and the love of his life.

Volume two of the Marry the Scot series features more of the Scots you know and love. These three steamy stories can be read as standalones, or you can start at the beginning with Volume I.

Picture This

The only man she loves is the Scot she can’t have.

Taylor has lived with threats and blackmail her entire life. Either she behaves like the perfect, dutiful daughter, or gives up her most desperate wish.

She's always wanted Wasp.

One hot kiss leads to an indecent proposal and a cross-European bucket list tour. But Wasp is no longer the boy Taylor once knew. The clock might be ticking, but her hot Scot has his own plans. Even if he has to choose between love and his career.

Oh Baby

A mind-blowing kiss, a phone call he never thought he wanted... Ally is about to fall in love. Twice.

Ally gets by on his looks. Avoiding responsibility and not tackling his dyslexia is second nature to him, but there’s one rule he’s stuck by: ignoring Scarlet Storm. Until a chance encounter in a hotel leads to an unstoppable kiss. Then shocking news turns his life upside down: A tiny newborn needs him.

Claiming the child and becoming a worthy father will take everything Ally has got, but he won't stop there. He wants Scarlet too.

Come the Fall

Being on the run leaves no time for distractions. Unless your new boss is alpha, Scottish, and built

Autumn has taken her baby nephew and is fleeing for their lives. Almost reaching the safety of a small wintery Washington State town, she narrowly avoids a collision as her car spins out on ice. The other driver is a huge mountain man who speaks only in glares. The instant attraction is like nothing she has experienced, but she isn't hanging around, no matter the enticement to stay.

Bull will never trust again, certainly not a single mother with secrets. But he can't stop the draw. Working side by side with Autumn at his bar every day is enough to awaken his protective side once again. But the past will always catch up with you, no matter how far you run or who you fall in love with on the way.

Loved every minute

I absolutely loved this series and I have read the follow up about the children. It's the type of books you can't put down, I fell in love with the main characters. Can't wait for more books from Julie.

These are the next books about the other brothers that follow on the first box.

You can read all books as standalone, but they have some red lines that connect each books 📚 to the other 💕

These boxes are so good, easy and for those big loving binge readers the answer to enjoy these books.

Yes Jolie is one my favorite authors ever 🙌🏻😅🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

But her books are really awesome, good, and the characters 💕😍🙌🏻

You are gonna love it.

Overall Stars: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Overall Spice: mostly slow-burn, 🌶️-🌶️🌶️/5

Although you technically don’t have to read any of the books from the first volume, you really should since the characters do make appearances and you get depth of knowledge.

We are brought back to the McRae family and get the stories of the twins: William (Wasp) and Alisdair (Ally). Meeting the twins in other books, I knew their stories were going to be good…and now they are in their 20's, and every bit as handsome and hunky as their older brothers. These stories just keep getting better and better!

Volume 1: Picture This

This novel follows Irene Taylor Vandenburg (FMC), and William McRae (MMC). Taylor is someone we’ve met before, if you read the first set, as she made an appearance in Love Most, Say Least…and we didn’t love her in that book. I was unsure going in if I was going to be okay with Taylor being the love interest of our darling Wasp McRae, but she redeems herself in this book, and we get the character growth and depth we desperately needed from her.

Wasp and Taylor have only had intermittent flings in the past, but always find their way back to one another; their “reunion” is no exception in this book. The way in which these two come together is so heartwarming, and the depth we get for both characters…SWOON. Wasp is the perfect combination of alpha personality (where it counts with Taylor, in the bedroom) and a tender heart (there are times when he needs protecting from the world). Taylor feels she is incapable of love and being loved, and Wasp makes it his mission to show her what love is. These two are made for one another and you do not doubt their connection as they journey towards their HEA.

Volume 2: Oh Baby

This book took me on an emotional journey! This story made me feel such strong emotions as Ally (MMC) and Scarlet’s (FMC) story was told, and it is my favorite in the series. Ally has the reputation of being the town playboy who doesn’t take life seriously, and Scarlet is a no-nonsense business woman…but opposites attract!

Ally is at a turning point in his modeling career and making decisions about how he wants to proceed, when the choice is made for him. Scarlet is at a turning point in her career and making tough calls about the trajectory of her life. Now, throw in the fact that these star-crossed lovers don’t live in the same country, there’s a tragic accident, a secret baby and custody battle, a job opportunity in Hong Kong…and we are on an emotional roller coaster where both characters grow and find what is most important to their happiness.

Without giving too much away, just know…you will be rooting for Ally so hard in this one! We get to see how Ally thinks and how he is perceived has affected him, as well as his struggles with dyslexia and the impact that has made on his life choices. We get to see so much character growth it is unreal and so sweet.

Volume 3.5: Before the Fall (Novella)

So, I was not excited about the prospect of reading Autumn’s story because I was upset with her role in Hero…though she inadvertently did give Gordain the opportunity to spend with Ella at a transitional point in his life and he got his HEA, I was still slightly mad about the situation. BUT, I was super engaged with this novella and happy to know that Autumn turned out to be a selfless and kind individual who was just trying to make the best out of bad situations. And Bull? 🥵 Let’s just say I wouldn’t mind finding a grumpy Scot stateside (he earned 🌶️🌶️!)

PICTURE THIS
‘She couldn’t hear my heart, but it beat for her.’

William McRae (age 22)is steady and decent. Smart and wise. His integrity streak ran a mile wide.
Taylor Vandenberg (age 23) is Ella’s best friend. Her father is the Governor of NY and he has big plans for her to help his run as Vice Presidential candidate.

Wasp and Taylor’s story has been going on for 5 years. There is a bucket list tour of Europe and deep, warm, beautiful love. I love when characters have something special and that Taylor is the only one to call him William. These McRae men really wear their heart on their sleeve and how Wasp was willing to sacrifice his career for Taylor. And twin shenanigans. OMG an Ally Wasp trade off and how it came to be but also how each twin steps up for the other 🙌🏽

The angst of these impossible situations makes the HEA even better!

OH BABY
“Ally's very emotional and lovely story.”

Ally McRae (age 24) is usually the ringleader for trouble.
Scarlet Storm (age 22) is Mathilda’s sister.

Ally is going to steal your heart in this book as he just gets all the bad luck possible. A learning disability, model mistreatment, a baby, and then….. talk about obstacle after obstacle. So yes, you will need tissues!
After our intro to Scarlet in Mattie’s book I’m so happy for the strong, intelligent and hardworking woman she has become. Plus her new relationship with her father will also melt your heart!

The way Ally and Scarlet love each other is beautiful. Watching them with all the McRae family love made for a great end to this series but yes, am grateful the author gifted us with a 2nd gen series!

COME THE FALL
Autumn Phillips (age 22) is the wing commander’s daughter. She featured in Hero and had to flee the country with her baby nephew, Benjamin. She’d run to Falls Ridge seeking refuge as has a friend there.
Bull Graham (age 32) owns the bar and known to be grumpy due to a situation with an Ex. He is an honorable and good man.

I couldn’t really get into this short story. Autumn just annoyed me and I’m still upset with how she almost ruined Gordain’s life.

So happy I started this series after the author had written all the books in the Marry the Scot series and started on the second generation. I can read really fast and sometimes feel bad about how fast I can zip through a series that took the author years to write. But, when I discover an author after they've been writing and publishing for several years - it's a bonus to follow their characters through the various books. Following the next brothers' as they find their perfect matches and overcome the challenges that are set to keep them apart. Enough romance, suspense, and good old fashioned adventure, along with the right amount of thwarting authority and pushing boundaries make for fast and fun reading.

Loved them!!

I enjoyed getting to know the younger McCrae’s and seeing where they fit in the future stories. I liked that none of the characters are perfect, they all have flaws and have made mistakes, but they are redeemable and become self aware and they grow and become resilient.

As usual your books are well written and researched. I liked having the series and each story leads into the next meaning I could keep on top of the characters and the plots easier and I always enjoy delving it to the minds of our gorgeous Scots x

Now, I’ll reread from Hard Nox while trying to be patient and wait for Hunted xx

I adore this series!

I love everything about both volumes of Marry the Scots. This is a series that features super hot males who are also sweet and caring. They are not carbon copies of each other, even the twins, each lending his unique personality to each story. I also love how they all have each other's backs. There is plenty of drama in each one and lots of panty melting heat.
I will definitely be reading the next generation's story.

So good!

Absolutely loved the twins stories, along with Autumn's... I almost forgot about her, lol, but such a great little story. The Twins, each story is amazing and I love the little twists along the way. Fair warning, I think Ally's story made me cry the most, but well worth it!! Highly recommend this series, along with the extra epilogues from the author, at the end of applicable stories.

The end of one generation

Family based stories are the best because it's possible to follow all the characters through longer period of time, like an extended epilogue. These stories were really sweet, had enough mystery to spice the story and the sex scenes didn't become overwhelming.

Wonderful stories

Raced through both boxed sets of this series. Loved them all. Seems like each of the heroes had someone they’d been fond of since first seeing them. It’s hard to name a favorite of the books, but Ally’s story was pretty close to amazing.

A Satisfying read

This book set finishes up the Macrae brothers and what happened to Autumn (the girl who got Gordain fired). These stories wrap up their lives and give insight into what has been happening. Good story telling. Comforting reading.
