Scarlett Cole

Four-time RITA finalist, Scarlett Cole, is a contemporary romantic suspense / contemporary romance author (represented by Louise Fury at The Bent Agency) who calls both Toronto, Canada and Manchester, England home. A born city dweller, she periodically quashes the urge to live in the country by hiking up a mountain to remind herself that living away from people would terrify the pants off her.

She believes everybody deserves their love story to be told and loves her heroes on the rough and rugged side…and usually tall (because she married one of those 6ft 6” men you read about in romance!). She’s an A-type personality and Scorpio star sign, so good luck getting her to do anything she doesn’t want to.

When she isn’t writing, she’s happy to talk hot men and expensive shoes while drinking a cold gin and tonic. Don’t bring up olives. As far as Scarlett is concerned, they are the devil’s food. As long as you don’t bring up olives, she’s happy to hear from any time.

3,5 ❤️❤️❤️🌟🌟🌟s❣️

A wonderful romance read with very low levels of angst and drama.

Emerson and Connor were loveable and mature characters and their chemistry was amazing. I liked how their feelings developed. They didn’t play games with their emotions and expressed them as they were.
Emerson had fantastic ties with her family and the bond they shared was strong and grounded.
A lovely and enjoyable very well written story❣️

This is Ms. Cole’s newest book in about 2 years and my favorite by her! It has a bit of the enemies to lovers trope(my favorite one), and also the “meet a stranger on the plane” one.

Emerson and Connor are very strong, thoughtful characters and both are a bit of control-freaks. Superficially they don’t seem to have anything in common: Emerson is the eldest sibling, so she’s trying to do everything herself and protect her siblings, she’s like a backstage manager, making everything work. She’s also close to her family and she’s really nice and she gives the impression that what you see it’s what you get. Connor is a bit closed off, he’s an only child and he has a contentious relationship with his father and uncle, but he’s really close to his mom and step-father. He’s a guy who loves routine and he’s a bit of a dick, at first he seems really boring but when you see him through Em’s eyes you see the caring, thoughtful, problem-solving man underneath.

I liked that even though you kind of get the idea that’s an enemies to lovers story from the blurb and the start of the story, this is actually a story about 2 people who like each together and who try to help each other with their work and who are building a beautiful, long lasting relationship. There’s a part that really annoyed me, but it was resolved easily in the end. I liked that Ms. Cole didn’t do a big thing out of it.

I liked the secondary characters, especially Em’s siblings and her friend Ali. I hope we see more of them and Connor’s friends in the next books.

If you’re in the mood for a nice, fun contemporary romance this is the book for you!

I have missed Scarlett Cole terribly! Welcome back!!

Although it has only been just a few years since I read a Scarlett Cole romance, it felt infinitely longer because her wizardry with words is epic. Five years ago, I read her debut novel into romance fiction and I have been a super fan since then.

Love in Numbers is not just simply a romance journey. It’s much bigger than that. It’s an introduction to more (if that makes sense lol). There are numerous plot points outside of the relationship building between Connor & Emerson that brought forward into the story, which is why my mind went straight to introduction to more. There are also personal struggles both Emerson and Connor are going thru that are outside their relationship building but do affect it. The problem with all that I’ve mentioned is that when you have so much going on in a story, there are plot points that will inevitably not be fleshed out as much as they could/should have been and some even left up in the air. Without going into details or particulars of this story, because of everything I have just mentioned, in my opinion the beginning of this series probably should have started with a different sibling. Again, just my opinion. It is not my story to tell nor am I a professional writer. That being said, if I have to rate my experience as a reader on this book, it's a solid 3.5 stars but closer to 4 than 3. Do with all that information what you will :)

Connor and Emerson were a slow-burn journey and I think that was a genius tactic to take with these two. Their personal growth was integral in the success of them as a couple and Scarlett captured that in spades! She truly is an incredibly talented writer! She folded into the story and incredible amount of detailed information on their careers and it didn’t weigh the story down one bit. In fact, it captivated the story even more.

There is so much history to Emerson’s family and Connor’s as well that I wish (I can’t believe I’m about to say this lol) their story was longer. Most of the time, when you read a statement like that you think about the couple themselves, but this time it’s more about their backgrounds and what ties them together. I’m hoping as we get the story of Emerson’s brother and sister that more pieces of their family background will fall into place. We shall see. I’m excited to read more from Scarlett Cole, not only with this series but with any project she might have in mind for the future!

I think many of author Scarlett Cole’s readers were highly anticipating her return to the book world and she did not disappoint. Love In Numbers is her first book in the Love Distilled series and it’s a bit of a change from her previous work; a bit lighter, low angst, and sweet (yet still sexy) with interesting well rounded characters.

Still grieving the sudden loss of her father, Emerson Dyer had stepped into his role at the family’s gin distillery along with doing the job she’s been doing for years. Emerson is a bit over her head, the distillery needs a cash infusion following an accident that took out their event space and sent her sister into a mental breakdown. While her brother is holding his own as the master distiller, the bulk of running the company has fallen to her and she doesn’t want to burden her siblings with everything going on. Now forced to attend an award ceremony where their Dyer’s Medallion is up for a few awards the last thing Emerson needs is a jerk of a man insinuating she stole his seat on the airplane.

Connor Finch can’t help but admire the tenacity of the woman on the plane, but finding out she’s one of the heirs of Dyer Distillery, the company his father claims was stolen out from under him makes him curious. What he finds is a woman he actually likes, one with a generous spirit, and a work ethic much like his. Connor is slated to be the next CEO of his father’s liquor distribution company, but he has his own ideas of where he’d like to take it and includes higher priced spirits like what Dryer produces.

I loved these two together, they were so very much alike in the way they approached life and work. There was no BS between these two, they were upfront in what they wanted from one another and didn’t let small things come between them. It was refreshing reading a couple who actually communicated their wants and needs to each other and fall in love without a lot of manufactured drama.

Love In Numbers was an outstanding first book to this series and I’m highly anticipating what Ms. Cole has in store for her readers next. It was an and engrossing.

it's not really a matter of what's in a book, it's really about HOW it's presented...and unfortunately, I have seen it all and tried it all...in matters of books :)

and this was just smth that was squeezed over and over as a pattern, that I got bored extremely quickly, even for my standards...

Love in Numbers is the first book in a new series about distilleries! So, have a drink while you read!

Emerson and Connor seem to, at first, have a bit of an enemies to lovers story, but that is a surface view. Really, they slowly build a relationship built on trust and support. It is actually everything a relationship should be. They happen to have a family rivalry between their fathers, but after their initial encounters, that isn't really an issue.

Both Emerson and Connor have some deep family issues they are dealing with, all while trying to run a company. They have a mutual respect for each other's work ethic. The real drama/conflict comes from the family secrets! I enjoyed this more than an enemies to lovers trope. I especially appreciated it because Emerson and Connor were building a strong foundation to a relationship when this family drama comes to a head and they handle it in a more mature manner (hooray!).

Love in Numbers will appeal to readers who appreciate more mature characters and tension that arrises from a natural source, and not childish nonsense. The characters are well developed, and that is one thing that has always made Cole's books so great for me. She creates unforgettable characters and stories!

This was good in how real it was. How Conner and Emerson's relationship blossomed. Emerson was overcoming losing her father and being overwhelmed taking his place in the family business. Conner had his own daddy issues going on. I loved his little control freak, tightly wound ass.....but he seemed a little robotic which made me have a hard time fully buying into his passionate words when he had them. But that could just be me. I seemed to notice they told each other what to do a lot instead of asking, and I only mention it because I noticed there was something throwing me off about their dialogue and that's when I started picking it up. Overall it was a good story, where Conner and Em, in an 'it's such a small world' moment, get thrown together. They have this connection that allows them to navigate family secrets, revenge, betrayal, and fighting for what makes you happy.

Love in Numbers is an enemies to lovers contemporary romance and the first book in the Love Distilled series. It's a beautiful, touching and heartwarming story about strong family ties and misplaced loyalties, the sacrifices we willingly make for the people we love and the courage and determination it takes to reach for your dreams and to pursue the things that make you happy. I was reminded once again why I fell irrevocably for this author's writing style after reading her fantastic debut novel. Her exceptional talent for telling stories that go under your skin and make you reflect on life is nothing short of marvelous.

Scarlett always creates intriguing, complex and endearing characters you can easily relate to and connect with on an emotional level. That was also the case with Connor and Emerson - the protagonists of this story. Love in Numbers was a delicious slow burn that concentrated heavily on their personal development and as a couple. They both grew with every task and obstacle thrown their way, and there were many, trust me! As a hopeless romantic I'm always cheering for the hero and heroine and for love to conquer all.

Since the day Emerson Dyer inherited the family owned gin distillery together with her younger siblings nothing is running smoothly as she has hoped for. She's navigating the company as the new CEO after her beloved father's sudden death without his guidance trying to juggle as many balls in the air at once as possible. Her life's a mess and she doesn't need more complications. Connor Finch is working for his father's liquor distribution company and is set to take over as soon as his old man retires. His life is all about working, doing sports and having the occational poker night with his pals. He's not in the market for a relationship until he meets Emerson Dyer, daughter of his father's life long enemy and rival. That should be reason enough to stay away from each other, right!? But that's much easier said than done. Can these star crossed lovers make their relationship work despite their differences?

I've absolutely adored Emerson. She is such a strong-willed, hard-working and caring woman. Em is passionate about her family's business and putting everything she has, money and diligence, into saving it and making it better. She is smart, competent and shouldering all the responsibility on her fragile shoulders while desperately trying to protect her siblings Jake and Olivia. I'm not surprised that a remarkable woman like her has caught the attention of gorgeous Connor Finch.

Connor's working ethics and high standards were similar to Emerson's. That's why he admired and respected her deeply. I liked that Connor helped take off the stress and offered advice and new perspectives when times got hard for Emerson. He genuinely cared about her which was one of the many reasons she fell head over heals in love with this amazing man. He is ambitious, a sport enthusiast and a workaholic but with Emerson he could just wind down and savour the moment.

I've truly enjoyed this wonderful story and highly recommend it. Emerson and Connor's banter kept me thoroughly entertained throughout the book and their palpable sexual chemistry nearly made my kindle burst into flames. I'm now super excited for the next installments in this series! I'm sure that Scarlett Cole is going to give Jake and Liv the happily ever afters they both deserve. Love in Numbers goes straight on my top favorite reads of 2020 shelf and I'm giving it 5 shiny stars.

4.5 out of 5

I’m a huge fan of this author. I’ve really enjoyed reading The Second Circle Tattoos series and I’m simply mad for the Preload series. I’ve read all of the books in this series at least twice, some (Jordan Reclaimed) at least 4 times. So when I saw her tweet that she would be releasing a new book the next day, well guess what the first thing I did was. And guess what I started reading the same day.

Connor is the hero. He’s been working for his father’s liquor distribution company for a while now and as his father is due to retire soon, Connor is ready to take over and make a number of changes hoping to go for higher quality.
Emmerson is the heroine and she has what seems the weight of the world on her shoulders. Her beloved father recently passed away very unexpectedly and she becomes head of Dyers Distillery. While she has a younger brother and sister to help, she doesn’t want to burden them so feels she has to handle everything herself. She and Connor meet on a plane when they are both headed to the same awards ceremony and Connor is a jerk to her. He’s a jerk, but a very hot jerk and despite the off putting meeting, she does find him very fine. But as soon as he hears her name, Connor knows who she is. She’s the daughter of the man his father holds responsible for all the hard times he had when he got their company up and running.

One of the things Connor thinks of is acquiring Dyers Distillery. But when they end up sitting together at the award ceremony, the both see that the first impression they had of each other is all wrong. The more Connor gets to know Emmerson, the more he admires her for her strength and loyalty to her family and the business. It isn’t long before they become very close and Connor sees what a real family company is.

This book isn’t as angsty as the Preload series and has a totally different vibe to it. But I still was smitten with it and definitely keeps Scarlet Cole as one of my top favourite authors. I highly recommend this book if you are looking for a book that gives you the warm and fuzzies.

The story is original with a well developed plot and you can appreciate the authors research in the world of distilleries and alcohol. This was my first time reading a book by this author and I found her writing to be phenomenal.

I would personally classify this more as a friends to lovers romance as Connor and Emerson's first encounter was less then friendly, but there after they get to know one another and develop a friendship that quickly buds into a relationship. These two have a lot in common. They both work in the same industry and are involved in their own families business.  They are both hard working, driven, passionate, and motivated.

Connor came off as a prick at first but he's actually very charming, selfless, caring, and sexy. He's also a tad bit OCD, especially when it comes to his health. Emerson is carrying the world on her shoulders trying to maintain the family business and her new position. Starting a relationship was the last thing either of them expected to happen but there was no denying their chemistry, it is off the charts and the steamy scenes will have you fanning yourself.

Not everything is sunshine and rainbows. They have to navigate through change, family drama, work issues, and so much more. They are very supportive of each other and once they get past the obstacles that get in their way they can face anything together.

I really really really hope that there are more stories to come for this books supporting characters.

Connor & Emerson's story feels light, while still having quite a lot of depth to both story and characters. They start off a bit antagonistic toward each other - but even that is done with humor and reveals they're each intrigued by the the other. Things are a bit complicated on Connor's side, but honestly, I thought he handled things well for the most part.

I love the way their relationship develops. As Emerson says - no games. They like each other, they get to know one another, and when they get to the steamy times, they trust each other to explore. Each of them have some family situations to work through, and I love how these situations are handled by both the author & characters.

Excellent writing, a moving & fun story, and a very satisfying ending!!

Scarlett Cole brings a love story immersed in emotions and secrets in book one of her Love Distilled series, Love In Numbers!

Connor Finch lived for his career never prioritizing a serious relationship. Charming and sophisticated he commanded attention from his first introduction in this work. Emerson Dyer carried the world on her shoulders as she tried to keep her family and family business going after her father's unexpected passing. Smart and feisty she showed her capability even under the most trying circumstances. Individually and together this couple were a wonderful mix of contrast that gave them dimension.

Connor and Emerson were not just caught in the crossfire of a family feud but in an irresistible attraction. One of the traits that made them stand out as a couple was the unique way that they handled their interactions. Not only were they thoughtful in their gestures but stressed to each other that they did not want to play games coming right out and expressing what they wanted from their relationship from the start. But even with a good relationship foundation in place this pair's being together did not come without its share of poor decisions and some pretty serious obstacles to overcome. Extenuating circumstances, withheld information, with the best intentions, and finding themselves in over their heads with family drama and relevant disclosures added a nice shot of adrenaline to this story as they lead to family secrets and intrigue. In contrast mundane couple interactions were made sweet and well played off of the extraordinary situations that were thrown this couple's way. In the end Connor and Emerson's taking ownership of their mistakes and making a commitment to being together enabled them to work out their problems and shine as a couple.

Scarlett Cole knows her way around crossroads and hard decisions as seen in many of her previous works, Love In Numbers was no exception. Her portrayals were richly designed with lots of personal touches to distinguish them. She showed her characters vulnerabilities not as weaknesses but as aspects that emphasized their humanity and added interesting layers to their personal dynamics. As to be expected with this author she kept her story paced beautifully with the right amount of intimate moments enhanced with the subtle inclusion of individual histories and significant revelations. In Love In Numbers Scarlett Cole continues to be an author with emotional depth, sharing love stories that stand out and keep her loyal audience captivated, a recommended read!

Scarlett Cole is back and I'm happy to report that her new book Love in Numbers was a huge delight to read! I was already in tears after a couple of pages. It felt so good to read her words, because I honestly missed them. I'm not going to lie, I went into the story with high expectations. After all, Scarlett Cole is known to be a great writer who knows how to deliver a captivating story with depth and multi-layered characters. To say that I enjoyed this book would be a total understatement, because I didn't only love it, I've literally devoured it like a glass of Dyer's award winning Medallion Gin.

You can tell that Scarlett does a lot of research for her books, because she pays attention to details and doesn't gloss over things. The way she vividly described the world of the Dyer Family and how they lovingly and passionately operated their destillery made me want to jump on the next plane to Denver and book a guide tour at their place asap.

After her father's death, Emerson Dyer is left to lead the family owned gin destillery together with her younger siblings Olivia and Jake. While struggling to find her footing as the new CEO, she unexpectedly meets the intriguing Connor Finch. Emerson has no idea that this adonis is the son of her father's biggest rival and arch enemy. She's too busy trying to keep the destillery afloat and can't afford a distraction like Connor in her life right now, no matter how good he makes her feel.

Connor Finch is an ambitious young man who's focused on his career and taking over his father's liquor distribution company. He never expected to get off track after meeting the beautiful and incredibly smart Emerson Dyer whom he can't stop thinking about. Torn between his feelings for her and his loyalty to his father, Connor will need to decide if he's willing to jeopardize everything he's worked for so hard or risk it all for love.

The best thing about this book was watching Connor and Emerson fall for each other, page after page. It all started under the worst circumstances, but developed into the most beautiful and epic love that made me swoon hard. Their sexy scenes were full of scorching heat and undeniable passion!

Emerson was sweet, honest and hardworking. She sacrificed so much for the destillery while always trying to keep her siblings happy and carrying the burden of the company's problems on her shoulders. I was so glad that she found someone like Connor who encouraged and admired her passion for her family business. Even though he came across as rude and full of himself at first, it couldn't be more far away from the person he truly was. A loving, protective and supportive man who loved fiercely.

I've only words of praise for this sweet, sexy and highly entertaining book that was mostly character driven and allowed the two main characters to shine through. Their connection was truly one of a kind! Now I'm super excited for the next books in the Love Destilled series and sincerely hope that they will be about Emerson's charming siblings! I'm giving Love in Numbers 5 well deserved stars and putting it on my top favorite reads shelf of 2020! Thank you dear Scarlett for this wonderful reading experience.

3.5 stars!

It’s been a while since we’ve gotten a new book from Scarlett Cole, and now she’s back, with a lighter book than we are used to from her, a sweet, sexy, sort-of-enemies-to-lovers romance that is low angst and super functional. I loved these characters, and really enjoyed this one.

Emerson Dyer has just inherited her family’s gin distillery. She was already working there alongside her brother and sister, but following the death of their father, Emerson is now in charge and she’s determined to succeed and do her family legacy proud. But the business is low on money and full of problems she doesn’t know how to solve, and she’s barely keeping her head above water. The last thing she has time for is a new man in her life, but then she meets Connor Finch.

Connor is gorgeous, confident, structured and motivated, and his life is going exactly where he wants it to, with him on track to become the CEO of his family’s alcohol distribution company when his father retires. He knows of Emerson’s family due to his father’s longstanding feud with Emerson’s father, but he’s never actually met any of them until a snarky encounter with Emerson when they are both flying to the same industry event.

Meeting Emerson in person knocks Connor on his ass. Despite their less-than-ideal first meeting, when they meet again the sparks and flirty banter fly thick and fast. Their attraction is intense, and despite their busy lives they dive into a relationship without reservation, acknowledging their attraction and openly and honestly going after what they want, bringing us a sweet and gleefully angst-free romance. They refuse to play games, their sexual chemistry is sizzling, and I loved watching them easily and naturally fall for each other.

As the romance is developing, we get up close and person with both Emerson and Connor’s professional lives. Emerson’s family distillery is a big part of the story as she wades through the mess left behind by her father and works hard to move the business forward. Her brother and sister are a big part of that, and I’m assuming the series will continue with books for them, and I am really excited to get to know them better! At the same time, Connor is dealing with family drama which, of course, impacts his own career. The hatred that his father has towards Emerson’s family is a big issue, so are his plans for the future of the company. After lots of build-up, it all comes to a head in a confrontation that is both predictable and heartbreaking, but it’s handled well by all involved and works to bring about a really satisfying resolution, ending the story in a great place.

I really enjoyed this book. It’s a well written, easy read, and the business stuff was interesting and incorporated well into the love story. The romance didn’t pack the emotional punch that I have experienced with previous Cole books, but it’s sweet and sexy, and I really appreciated the openness and lack of drama between Emerson and Connor, and the eagerness with which they embraced everything that was happening between them.

I’m excited for more from this series.

3.5 stars.

Scarlett Cole is back after a break and she has come back stronger than ever with a book that blew me away! Seriously, this book was a phenomenal read. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars.

I absolutely loved this story. I was determined to read this book slowly and savour it like a fine red wine, but once I started I was utterly captivated and could not put it down.

The author took precious time to build a world that you can get totally lost in, while bringing us a love story that was romantic, hot, heartfelt and at times breathtaking in its complexity.

Connor and Emerson’s chemistry is scorching hot from the moment they meet on the page and burns hotly throughout the whole story. But this story was about more than super hot chemistry, it was about family and the lengths you go to keep them together and what family really means to you.

I adored both the main characters in Connor and Emerson and how easily they interacted with each other and how compelling they were as individuals. Not to mention the other characters in the story that I hope get their own stories, sooner rather than later in Emerson’s siblings Liv and Jake.

I am still gobsmacked over this book nearly a day after I finished and am writing this. This will definitely be a book that will become a re-read favourite and a series that will be a must read. I highly recommend this story to everyone. Well done Scarlett Cole, welcome back to the publishing world with a bang.

Scarlett has done a wonderful job of bringing to life Emerson and Connor in the first book in the Love Distilled series. Connor and Emerson have fire. An awkward chance meeting on a plane leads to a road filled with immense attraction, sizzling chemistry, secrets, family drama and so many twists. Emerson is a woman backed by her family trying to keep her family distillery afloat after the death of their father. Connor is a business man working his way to the top of the corporate family business that has had it share of problems. A new relationship is hard but now let's toss in hidden family secrets, lies and cover ups oh my this was a wonderful ride. Emerson is strong but tender, intelligent, and driven she is a well written heroine. Connor is the epitome of a business man and we soon discover a softer side under that pressed suit. They were wonderful individually but together they were dynamic!

This started out interesting but became boring very quickly. I only finished it because I skimmed the last 40% of the book. Nothing really happens, and the chapters are really long for nothing happening in the story. I couldn't connect with the FMC Emerson all, but I did like the MMC Connor. Their relationship was so healthy that it was boring. When anything happened, they talked about it like mature adults. While that is how healthy relationships should be in real life that made the book so very boring. Also, this is written in tthird person, which is not my favorite. This is my first book by the author, but I don't know if I want to read anything else by them or not.

Especially since he’s on the cusp of being appointed CEO of the family empire.

But as these kindred spirits embark on a collision course with fate and destiny, can they risk it all for love? Or will shocking family secrets, soul crushing betrayal and festering tension shake the foundation of the joyous future they both dream of building together?

MY MUSINGS:
I was captivated by this bubbly romantic concoction! Equal parts dramatic and heartwarming, passionate and poignant, endearing and emotionally uplifting, LOVE IN NUMBERS entertained me from start to finish! It’s been two years since the effervescent Scarlett Cole penned her last book and it was well worth the wait ! This mega talented author has a way of crafting a wondrous love story that is smart and sophisticated, rapturously romantic and it always packs a punch! And while this tale is lighter in tone than her previous angst-ridden books, it was a refreshing departure and put me in SUCH A CELEBRATORY MOOD!

Ms. Cole is a master at character development, and true to form, Connor and Emerson are fully realized and wonderfully developed protagonists. They are so complex and relatable, charming and captivating, honorable and hardworking and have a magnificent rapport! I loved their sparking banter, smoldering chemistry and felt the electricity between this flammable duo from their very first combustible meetup. Their red-hot sexual attraction was undeniably enticing, but the tenderhearted romance that unfolded was just as enchanting. What really stood out for me was that despite being born into rival families, these two are more alike than different. The manner in which these two bright, caring and ambitious individuals threw themselves into their work, and their ferocious devotion to their family legacy, truly tethered them together in powerfully profound ways.

Even though this beleaguered couple definitely had their share of tumult as they strove to wade their way through some intense family mayhem and personal turmoil while trying to run their respective companies, I liked how they faced each obstacle with courage and fortitude. And ESPECIALLY appreciated how despite Connor being told all his life that Dyer Distillery was stolen right out from under his father, there was no contrived, unnecessary drama between the MCs. The level of honesty and trust and open communication really struck a chord in me. But even though it’s the worst possible time in their lives to embark on a torrid love affair—especially since they are both neck deep in business woes—they cannot stay away from in each other. And over the course of the novel, Emerson and Connor become each other’s sanctuary, solace, sounding boards, and ultimately, one another’s soft place to fall when the whole world seems to be against them.

Oh, and for the record, Connor is a total dreamboat! This gorgeous, manly, SMEXY workaholic with the heart of pure gold had me SWOONING aplenty.. And Emerson is total BFF material! I ADORED her!

And while, admittedly, at times I felt that the heavy focus on the day to day operations of their companies, and the heroine’s quest for answers surrounding a mysterious business loan, became a bit monotonous after a while, Ms. Cole more than compensated for that by penning a love story that resonates deeply. As for the heat factor? WOW! When these two hit the sheets it’s so incendiary that you might want to have an ice-cold gin martini on hand as you immerse yourself on all the molten hot deliciousness. But YIKES you better prepare yourself for some major upset, because when all the secrets and lies finally comes to a head, it’s jaw-dropping! However, it goes without saying, that the long-awaited HEA is beauty personified!

BOTTOM LINE:
LOVE IN NUMBERS is an unforgettable story about love, loyalty, sacrifice, the unbreakable family bonds that define us, and beautifully underscores how important it is to keep reaching for the stars no matter what!

So, if you too can’t resist a heady love story about love conquering all, add this book to your TBR pronto. Cannot wait for the next installments of the Love Distilled series!

LOVE IN NUMBERS is the first instalment in Scarlett Cole’s contemporary, adult LOVE DISTILLED erotic, romance series focusing on the Dyer siblings. This is Emerson Dyer and Connor Finch’s story line.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Connor and Emerson) LOVE IN NUMBERS follows the enemies to lovers relationship between Emerson Dyer, the new CEO of Dyer’s Gin distillery, and Connor Finch, the heir apparent to Finch Liquor Distribution. Years earlier, a rivalry between Emerson’s father and Connor’s dad made for bitter enemies, something our heroine and her siblings knew nothing about. Meeting Connor Finch at an awards dinner for the liquor industry gave Emerson pause for a future but her return home revealed her late father left the family owned company struggling to survive. As her relationship with Connor continued to grow, Emerson had no idea that her future, and the future of Dyer’s Gin hung in the balance. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Connor and Emerson, and the potential fall-out as sins from the past are about to be revealed.

The relationship between Connor and Emerson is an enemies to lovers, one of which Emerson had no idea. Connor’s father has sought revenge for what he perceived as betrayal and loss, and in this Connor battled between head and heart in his relationship with Emerson Dyer. The $ex scenes are intimate, passionate and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.

We are introduced to Emerson’s brother Jake and sister Olivia, as well as Connor’s father Donovan, and uncle Cameron Finch.

LOVE IN NUMBERS is a story of betrayal and revenge; family and friendships, and unrequited love. The premise is captivating and entertaining; the characters are colorful, energetic and dynamic; the romance is provocative and intense.

I think I may have to start learning to appreciate gin more...but that’s for another time.

This was a fun, make my cheeks hurt from grinning so hard kind of read that kept me turning the pages until the end and definitely has me looking forward to seeing who will be next on the romance chopping block!

I adored Emerson and Connor. Emerson is sassy, snarky and isn’t afraid to speak her mind. She’s had a huge change in her world and is doing her best to navigate through it all while keeping her sanity in check. Connor is sweet, charismatic and very regimented, which was both admirable and irritating all at the same time.

Their journey to their HEA was a lot of fun. I loved they way the met, maybe not the best meet cute ever, but it definitely gave great insight into both of them and set the stage for the rest of the book. Their chemistry was hawt and they had a flow that worked for me, but it was the fact that they truly respect who the other person was and believed that they could accomplish anything they set their mind to. The bump in the road wasn’t a total surprise, there were certain things in play the entire time, but I loved how they both handled it and how everything worked out in the end.

I stumbled upon this author when I first started doing the review thing many, many moons ago and have gone on many adventures with her tattoo artists, rockstars and ex military turned private security and enjoyed every second, and this book was no different. It definitely had a lighter tone to than her previous books, but it was no less enjoyable and I’m totally looking forward to getting to know Jake, Liv and hopefully Charlie (cause...food), Ben and Blake a whole lot better as well as seeing where this series takes us!

Love in Numbers is the first book in Scarlett Cole’s Love Distilled Series, and it was SO good and all consuming. Scarlett Cole’s books have been on my TBR forever but this was actually my first read of hers and now I cannot wait to read some of her earlier writing, but first Olivia and Jake’s stories! What I love so much about this story was the maturity in the characters. So refreshing! Emerson is my favourite type of character. She is brilliant, strong, determined and she doesn’t mince words. She tells things exactly as she see them, unapologetically. Connor at first meeting totally needed to be put in his place by Emerson, and I loved it. He comes on strong with his sexy swagger and cockiness but he later proves to be a true romantic at heart, and getting swept up in the whirlwind of their romance was so addicting and I had a hard time putting the book down from beginning to end. Emerson is struggling managing her family’s distillery after the death of her father and meeting Connor came at the perfect time as he is a much needed distraction and she easily gets lost in him. They have such incredible passion and chemistry. The two could really heat it up in the bedroom as well as be emotional and vulnerable with each other. Along with the whirlwind romance of Connor and Emerson there is some secrets to uncover among the family business that made this a slightly suspenseful read as well. I cannot wait to read Olivia’s story next in Love In Moments.

Our Queen is back!
Scarlett Cole comes back with a fascinating and steamy romance!
It starts with a bit of an enemies to lovers trope when our characters meet in a plane and fight for a seat, then they spend time together and things get hot between them and finally they have their HEA. But somewhere along the road they need to work on their issues with their families and their enterprises.
Emerson is a very brave and capable woman who runs her late father's distillery. She has to be stronger than ever to save it, to ask for help, to fight... She discovers her father's secrets, things are more complicated than she thought but with the help of her siblings she never gives up. She never stop working, she's totally devoted to the family business.
I really loved her relationship with her family. She loved so much her father and it's already difficult to live with the loss, she has to be the strongest of the family like she's always been. She was the big sister, the mother, the friend. And they love her too and are thankful.
Conor is an only child, he grew up with a vindictive father, full of anger and resentment. At least he's close to his mother and her husband who's amazing with him.
Now he's torn between his loyalty to his father and his love for Emerson but finally he always makes the right choice, he never forgets what's really important and he's smart and sensitive enough to follow his heart.
On their own, Emerson and Conor are the best at their job but together they're stronger and happier.
It's obvious Scarlett Cole did a lot of research about the production of gin, it's pretty impressive and interesting!
The writing is a pure delight.
I can't wait to read book 2 !

With the resent death of her father and taking over the family distillery Emerson is all kinds of flustered. Sitting in her seat on the plane head to an awards banquet she is met with a very rude man claiming she was in his seat. Later at the awards dinner this same man shows up again all apologies for acting like a jerk on the plane. Come to find out the her and Connor Flinch have a lot in common. Both are involve in the liquor industry, work for family business and live in the same city. Problems with her father's company could send her family into a tailspin and all she can think about is Connor. Connor is feeling all the same things. Will they be able to juggle their personal and work lives?

Scarlet Cole does an amazing job at portraying the dynamics of a true family business. How when everyone works together anything is possible and how important it is to not keep secrets bottled up.

Love in Numbers
Love Distilled series, book #1
Release Date: October 19, 2020
Review Copy Provided by the Publisher

I swear I heard angels sing the day this book hit my kindle! Scarlett Cole is a like unicorn...rare, beautiful, almost mythical in her ability to weave a love story together. I was more than ready for a Scarlett fix, and Love in Numbers didn’t disappoint.

There are so many things that I can count on when reading a book written by Ms. Cole, but my favourite thing are her hero’s. It doesn’t matter if they’re ex-Navy SEALs, bad boy rockstars, or a hot AF businessman. I LOVE THEM ALL! Connor falls into the hot AF businessman category. The connection that he and Emerson had was instant and combustible. The sassy banter was entertaining, and made cutting through the raw sexual tension a little easier. I was dying for them to get all sweaty between the sheets. When it happened I felt like doing a fist pump. But it was worth the wait. Connor is all kinds of filthy in the bedroom. Yum!

I loved the friendship between Emerson and her siblings. They’re obviously family, but you can tell that they have a bond that goes beyond that. I’m really looking forward to Jake and Olivia getting their own books.

I know Scarlett Cole loves her gin. I also assumed that she knew a little about this particular liquor, besides the flavour. However, the amount of detail about the botanicals used in gin production, and the overall process to get it on the shelves was amazing. I was able to visualize in my mind what the distillery looked like, and how the stills functioned.

Honestly, this book wasn’t just great, it was amaze balls! The writing is off the charts, and the characters are so well developed and likeable. The only thing that I was left wanting was...more. Not because the story wasn’t complete, but because I wasn’t ready yet. That’s what Scarlett does, she always makes you want to come back for more.

After the death of her father Emerson struggling as she tries to ensure that her father’s faith in her wasn’t displaced. With the help of her siblings she will steer the family business towards prosperity and can’t afford to be distracted by any man let alone the son of her father’s rival.

Connor is the heir apparent to his family’s business as well. He is man who thrives on routine and order and when he meets Emerson, he knows that she will bring chaos and disorder into his life but walking away isn’t an option.

The chemistry between them is hot, their interactions are amusing and they are both highly motivated to ensure the success of their family’s businesses which creates some turmoil as they try to balance the scales of love and loyalty .

And she is back with a bang... ive really missed Scarlett Cole and her writing in the last little while so when I found out she was bringing out a new story it was a no brained for me I needed this book asap!
Connor Finch is HOT 🔥 that's what I have to start off with... hes arrogant.. moody.. clever... but the way he melts when he is around Emerson is everything!!!
Emerson..is strong.. independent and fiesty... having to take over the business before she is quite ready leaves her unsure and struggling so when a chance encounter with Connor starts off their relationship on uncertain terms it also gives us some hilarious times.
I absolutely loved Emersons relationship with her siblings.
Easy to read book that is so hot in places with a brilliant storyline...what else could you want??

I absolutely loved Emerson‘s & Connor‘s story! I truly enjoyed every aspect of it.

This was my first book by Scarlett Cole, and definitely not my last!!

The writing is wonderful, even tho it’s written in 3rd person which is not my favorite (I avoid books like this) but it flowed and fit for this book!

Emerson and her siblings Jake and Olivia inherited the family distillery after their father’s sudden death a few weeks prior! Having some financial difficulties, they try to manage all ups and downs a company throws your way. As a CEO Emerson is busy round the clock, so meeting Connor is maybe just what she needs to unwind? But Connor has his secrets he doesn’t share, so what happens when they come to light?

Great chemistry, swooned a lot, melted a few times — perfect!

Lots of shocking secrets in this captivating page turner!

Although Emerson and Connor have a "run-in" on a plane, they both recognize that the attraction is real. Emerson is grieving the recent death of her father. And currently, both Emerson and Connor find themselves running their families distillery companies. But there is a mysterious connection that could destroy their romance before it begins. I kept praying: "Don't let them be brother and sister, please don't let them be brother and sister. LOL!!!!!!!!!!

No it's worse than that. Cameron, Connor's uncle, should not only be fired, he should be up under the jail for the betrayal and heart-break he causes Emerson. Awesome story!
