Benjamin Franklin was a writer, a philosopher, a scientist, a politician, a patriot, a Founding Father, an inventor, and publisher. He helped with the founding of the United States of America and changed the world with his discoveries about electricity. His writings such as Poor Richards' Almanac have provided wisdom for 17 years to the colonies.
The Articles of the Confederation: A Plan of Confederacy for Securing the Freedom, Sovereignty, & the Independence of the United States is an important book to read, independently. If someone is forced to read this in school, most likely they won’t get much out of it. It’s important to have laws and rules. It’s just as important to enforce them.
I am reading all US constitutional documents and early drafts and related documents such as the Federalist papers so I can m=be a more informed citizen of the US.
This was eye opening, it was how the US conducted themselves until 1789. The states had all the power. Including taxation. So much so that the states did not contribute their fare share of money to the United States bank account (so to speak) which caused the SHAYS REBELLION. On to the Federalist Papers I go!
I have always been an interested student in the thought's to The United States Constitution so eloquently written preparing the means we now have to secure our sovereign Constitutional Republic. GOD by Divine Providence and Intervention conceived our fore-fathers to complete this most laudable of patriotic undertakings. Recommend Minimum Readers Age 10 lead by approved ISD teacher
Oh that these people still existed. I fear that their type (diplomats) will not re-appear anytime soon. Even though it was a time of trouble, they were able to get past their differences. Today, the country takes back seat!
