Tap into your own healing power, and nourish your mind, body, and soul with 50 rituals for greater connection to life, love, and purpose.
What if every moment were a portal to the sacred? A pathway back to remembering your interconnectedness with the earth, the deep wells of wisdom within you, and your true spiritual sovereignty? In Tending to the Sacred , multidimensional artist and healer Ashley River Brant invites us to walk this path and step into our own sacred truth through the art of ritual.
“Ritual connects us to the otherworlds and the infinite potentials that exist in the unseen, and it opens us to our inner worlds and our true sovereign nature,” Brant writes. “It is encoded in our DNA as an integral way of being―this book is just a pathway to remember.”
Throughout Tending to the Sacred , Brant shares rituals and teachings to help you become more fully empowered and embodied in your life. You’ll
• The foundations of ritual―including the importance of intention, beliefs, and understanding energy • Working with the elements―tuning in to the medicine of each element, from grounding with the earth to making ceremonial moon waters for strengthening intuition • Recipes and instructions for working with plant medicine―create your own oils, essences, teas, and more • Mantras, journal prompts, and guided visualizations―to bring you even deeper into the healing power of ritual • Soul-activating illustrations―Brant’s original spirit-infused artwork brings depth to each teaching • Tending to yourself and spirit―rituals for healthy boundaries, creativity, working with your dreams, and more
Woven from an abundance of ancient wisdom, heart medicine, and creativity, Tending to the Sacred is a potent yet accessible guide for anyone who longs to strengthen your connection with spirit, embrace the earth’s natural rhythms, and come home to your true nature.
This is a nice book for developing rituals, especially for folks who are Wiccan or Pagan. Much of the advice will work well for anybody who wants to develop rituals in life to help with mindfulness, intention, meditation, stress relief, etc. of any religion (or none). I already use rituals quite a lot in my everyday life and my belief systems don't align completely with the author's, but I enjoyed the read and found it to be one of the better ones I've read on the subject.
I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.
I received a copy of this book via Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
This book is centred around rituals, and how our rituals link us to the "Sacred". Overall, I think this book was good, it had some interesting points, it felt very calming and definitely came from a good place of intention. It was beautifully laid out and I believe this book is one of those that should definitely be read as a physical book as I feel I missed out on something reading it digitally. I think this would be a good book for those looking to begin a spiritual journey but much of it felt a little wishy-washy, so it would potentially not suit those in a deeper space of their journey. But again, I thought this book was interesting and well thought out.
I enjoyed this in that it was positive and super easy to read. Some of the sentences were really beautiful. In terms of content, not a tonne of substance. Just a lot of sentence fragments and repeititoj.
Anyone who wants to know themselves better, tune in to their own power and receptivity and gifts would benefit greatly from reading this book. I have a deep respect for Ashley and this book is a true love letter to embodiment, inner wisdom, loving kindness, acceptance, and peace. While many of us ritualize certain practices I think reading tending to the sacred can really help us move from trendy or mindless practices to much deeper, heart centered and individually powerful rituals. I can’t recommend enough, if it calls to you don’t think twice!
I loved this book. The last couple chapters were a bit too out there for me but the overall premise of taking care of yourself through plant medicine, awareness and of that sorts was invigorating and inspiring to read. I will definitely be referring back to this.
I love everything about this book. The way it feels and smells. I love the way it is written. This is beautifully written about remembering our interconnectedness with earth. It has information from ancient wisdom teaching, rituals to connect with our inner sacred and so much more.
