An Epic Quest Through The Magical World of Havenglade
A sinister wizard. A mysterious teacher. A kingdom on the brink of collapse.
In the ancient kingdom of Havenglade, a brutal enemy is ravaging the countryside making his way closer to Gradur Castle. An aging king seeks protection from a council of loyal wizards. A peasant girl finds herself at the center of it all after bonding with a magical crystal and absorbing its magical essence. After losing her parents, Laurena was given the chance of a lifetime to study wizardry under the mysterious and renowned teacher Unai. Can she learn to harness the powers inside her before it's too late? The entire Havenglade 4-part saga is available for the first time in one volume.
The 4-book series was very good. Laurena was a sweet, naive 14 year old when the story starts, and turned into a very brave young woman. And even though she had magic, she was very relatable, because she was inexperienced, and the magic didn’t always work. So she had to work at becoming brave and knowledgeable, as we humans have to. The characters were described so I could imagine them in my mind. All of the creatures were interesting; some from existing myths, but some the author created. There was actually good and evil, but also those who were evil who became good. It was altogether an exciting story, with variations adventures that all came together in the end. I highly recommend this series.
Daughter of Havenglade collection was a spellbinding read.
It didn't take long for me to be immersed in Laurena's story. How she learned to be an enchantress and follow all her adventures of course I didn't forget her studies with the wizard Unai. She was misguided by Queen Loli. Her friends Mira, Clinton, Lal and wizard Houpex Helped her to come to the aid to Prince Trium and Havenglade. I found myself reading late into the night, trying to find out what came next.
