Can I Cuddle the Moon
A gorgeous, fluffy baby owl is looking for someone to cuddle. While he makes some unusual suggestions-the sun, the stars, the moon-wise mother owl looks on, offering advice. A gentle, playful story that concludes with the very best type of cuddle-one from Mum! Lisa Stewart's stunning collage illustrations make this a book to be treasured.

"Kerry Brown grew up in Carnarvon, a coastal country town in Western Australia. Her childhood was typical of most children of that time, playing endlessly outside with her friends and spending holidays at the family ‘shack’ near the Blowholes.
Her imagination worked overtime as she made new discoveries and invented new games behind the sand dunes with her friends.
This imagination may have lay dormant for a few years but never strayed far, and was reignited soon after the birth of her two children, who continue to be her biggest inspiration.
Kerry is a qualified primary teacher with a Masters Degree in Education. She has had the privilege to work along side some of the best imaginations in the country - the children she has taught!
Kerry's excitement and passion for children's literature is extended beyond the classroom and into her picture books. She is dedicated to developing early literature skills in children and enjoys helping children tap into their own magical worlds and words!
Beyond her teaching and writing, Kerry presents interactive workshops for both children and adults, as well as inservice seminars to educators and parents."

Baby owl wants something to cuddle, and comes up with some impossible and even some dangerous ideas, only realising later that the best choice is right under its nose.

This year I didn't get chocolate advent calendars for my kids I went with a book advent calendar and this book was the one for December 17th.
I just read this with my five year old son and two year old daughter.
A sweet rhyming bedtime story.
All questions answered by my son (Nicholas).

Oh yep. Another tearjerker. The little owl just wanted a cuddle so badly. I loved this so much. I would give this a higher rating than 5 stars if I could because I read this to Rosie when she was in our baby carrier having a cry and it soothed her right to sleep. Love that for us!
(This book was gifted to Rosie by mum’s friend, Celeste. 🤍)

An adorable owl wishes to cuddle all celestial and wild things but realises the best cuddles comes from someplace closer. Totally heartwarming.

A cute little story for young children to teach them that while other animals/people have their own qualities, and not always nice, the real best one for them is their own.

I can see this being an engaging book when I’m a little older, but right now I just liked looking at the gorgeous illustrations. Mum says she’ll read it to me again when I’m bigger, and I think I’ll like it even more then.
For now though, I thought it was so funny that the answer was right under the little owl’s nose!

This is a delightful picture book for young children. Kerry Brown spoke to Gold Coast Writers members about how her son went through a stage of wanting everyone to cuddle him. She even said he tried to get a cuddle from the Librarian when he returned his book through the slot.
The little owl is searching for someone to cuddle – but who? The answer could be right under little owl’s nose.
I bought this book to read to my grand-daughters, it is a lovely cuddly before bed time read.

A sweet rhyming bedtime story using mostly a question & answer format. I like that the reader is left to work out the final resolution on behalf of the MC.

Sad owl is so sad! 'Then who can give me a cuddle? A fish? A snail? A big wet puddle?'
