Description Stolen memories. Stolen lives. How far will she go to get it all back? Some women want their husband to remember their anniversary. Allison just wants hers to remember her name. The library of memories she guards may hold the key. If she can return Paul’s memories to the magical books, she just might get her life back, too.
The question is—how far will she go to get what she wants?
If you like small-town settings, love stories that transcend memory, and twisty magical mysteries, you’ll love Libraries & Labradors, the third and final book in the Magic Library Mystery series.
I really loved this series trio! The third book was everything I'd hoped it would be. Yes, there were a couple of disappointing things that happened, but that's what's so awesome about Allison being such a strong character. She regretted a lot of things that happened, but she managed to find a way to work through everything. Allison and Paul did get their happily ever after in a bit of a different way, but I couldn't have been more pleased with the turnout of this series. If anyone wants to make some of the best use of their Kindle Unlimited, this series is it. And definitely read it in order, each book builds on the next even though most things are explained again.
I was really happy to read the first book, Tomes & Terriers then I purchased the second in the set Pages & Pyrenees, finally I broke down and brought the final book number 3. Libraries & Labradors I truly enjoyed Ms Avis’s writing style. Quick funny sad angry all the emotions rolled into each book. I can’t express my surprise at the cleverness of her approach to each story. I do want to say that Ms Avis’s stories gave you a lot to think about as you read them. About things in your own life. How to approach life I guess. For me anyway. I don’t want to spoil anyones pleasure in reading these three books, suffice it to say, it’s probably the best three books in a series that I have read for awhile. I couldn’t put them down! Thank you for writing these books.
The third book in this series ties together some loose ends! I Love this series and am sorry to see it end with this book. The author put together some wonderful characters both to love and to hate! Allison is a guardian of a magic library filled with the entire town's memories of everything in their lives. The sad part is the memories of Allison's husband have been ripped out from the book and he is in an assited living facility where Allison works because he was diagnosed with dementia. But Allison knows better. Someone evil ripped the memories of her husband out of the books and she knows who. We are also treated to puppies, Taylor a young smart kid who knows about the secret magic library, his grandmother, Michelle who is the watcher for the library, a policewoman, Kara, her loud and mean boss, police chief Leroy, Myra, Allison's soon to be wed daughter, Emily and her soon to be husband, Zack, son of the very evil Elaine. I love how Allison gets herself into situations! These characters are fully developed. So many threads, so much action that keeps you turning pages once you begin and you just can't put this book down. Sorry it is the last in the series, I was liking the characters as if they were becoming friends. This series will have you cheering, smiling and tearing up! A wonderful series that I highly recommend to everyone!I received an ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
In the final book in the trilogy, Allison must fight to save not only her husband’s missing memories, but the future of the library itself. Hillary Avis continues her wonderful tale of the people of Remembrance and the three founding families who began the library but failed to work together for its preservation. Who murdered the young couple from one family, can Paul’s memories be restored and whose side is the sheriff really supporting? All these questions will be addressed, but as is sometimes true in life, not all things work out exactly as we imagined. I have laughed and cried with these characters over the three books and wish them health and happiness as I say a somewhat reluctant farewell. I highly recommend this series with the caveat that the books were meant to be read in order. Start with Tomes and Terriers and enjoy your visit to this magical town and its mysterious library.
This is the end of a trilogy about a Magic Library in Remembrance. I have loved watching all of the characters and their lives. Allison is a foster parent to dogs and finds their everlasting homes. She has tried from the first book to retrieve Paul's memory of their lives together and their love. This last book ties up the loose ends from the series. I have laughed, I have cried and wanted to help Allison Rye. She is now the guardian of the Magic Library and has access to everyone in town's memories. Her next door neighbor, Michelle Crisp, is the watcher. Allison's husband, Paul, is from one of the original families in Remembrance. His family is in charge of the pen. The Crisps are responsible for the paper. The Claypools are the third original family and are to keep an eye on the gazebo . You will love this series. You will not be able to stop reading the book once you start. I am thankful for the ARC I received from Hillary Avis. This is my hones review.
I was sad to see this series come to an end. This last book was a wild and crazy ride. I couldn’t stop reading, even when I should have been doing chores or even sleeping. I enjoyed nearly all of the characters and became quite interested in the ups and downs of their lives. I laughed and I cried and I was kept on the edge of my seat at times. The author has a wonderful way with words. She draws you into the story and keeps you wanting more. This book really delivered. It was a great ending to a great series. Just a warning: this is a series that must be read in order, starting with Tomes and Terriers. I highly recommend this book and the entire series.
Disclosure: I was given a free ARC and am voluntarily leaving this unbiased review.
I loved this series. I read each book in one big gulp. I was thinking it was a cozy mystery with dogs in it, and it sort of is, but there is so much more to it. The biggest thread running through it is the love that Allison has for her husband Paul. Paul has lost all memory of her or their daughter, Emily, and Allison is desperately trying to get him to remember her. To help herself cope she fosters dogs for a rescue organization. The magic, the mystery and the books come into it in layers that fit together like puzzle pieces. The characters are all three dimensional and real and the town feels like you could open your door and walk into it. Highly recommend.
I am writing this review literally minutes after finishing this book with tears in my eyes and so much love in my heart. That is the way the book is written. There are so many good times, bad times and all the way through you wonder what is coming next. Hillary Avis has a way of writing that pulls you into her stories like you are part of them and I feel like the characters have become good friends. This is the best book of this series and I can't imagine that all the characters will touch your heart when you read it in one way or another. If you have read the first two books in this series, then you can't afford to miss this one.
Hillary Avis does it again in the third and final book in the Magic Library Series. And her last is her best. Readers twist and turn as they try to guess who's gone bad, who's really good and what catastrophic event will prevent Allison from finding the truth and happiness. But happiness comes in so many different boxes and one needs to decide which box holds the key. Each chapter peals away just enough to keep you craving more. I nodded, made comment out loud, and had tears as I devoured chapter after chapter. Although satisfied, I wanted one more piece of the pie!
I received this book as an ARC Reader. I have read all three books in this series and I loved them all. There are so many twists and turns, but I'm so glad the story instills friendship, family, saving animals, standing by your husband, even when he doesn't remember you, and believing in your daughter, when she doesn't believe what you say to be true. I enjoyed all of the characters, and I'm so glad that all of the loose strings go tied up in a beautiful little bow! Even if you think the magic genre isn't for you, you need to read this series, you will be glad you gave it a try!
This was the third book in the series and it closed out the trilogy. This book seemed a little less engrossing than the other two. I was not happy with the way Allison seemed to keep putting her husband before her daughter. That portion of the book didn't ring true to me. Taylor the young watcher of the library is a wonderful character and I can see where the author could build a new series about him along with the next generation. I really enjoyed the series and especially liked the way she ended it with Paul and Allison. The whole series is really good. Worth a read!
I haven't read such a quality heart breaking ,remarkable and entertaining cozey mystery caracters that are so vibrant ,charismatic ,compassionate, devastated, paspassionate, psychotic, determination at its extreme . Hillary Avis has created a magical town with a magical library that has changed lives in a way you can't emaggen. A if I were able to give a higher score I definitely would. Aquier "Libraries and Labradors "so you yourself can enjoy reading it as much as I have. 🙄😏😊Kat
I really enjoyed reading this series and am sad that this is the last book. I give kudos to the author for wrapping up the story for every character that was in the books. You normally don't see that in a book and I am grateful that I don't have to use my imagination as to what possibly transpired. If you love cozy mysteries with a touch of romance and plenty of murder, this series is the series to read.
I volunteered an honest review in exchange for an ARC copy of this book.
This is the final book in the magic library series. In it, Allison is working against time to tell Emily about Zack and his mother. She is also trying to restore Paul's memory of their lives together. This is much more involved and the clock is ticking. Can she get it all done? Things don't go as planned or hoped for and other lives are also affected. I was sad to see this series end. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Libraries and Labradors is the conclusion of this three book series. Ms. Avis did a wonderful job of ending all the plot threads. Allison is running out of time to find Paul's memories, save Emily and protect the library. These main characters (and Taylor) feel like neighbors and I will miss them. This suspenseful book is well written and complete. I would recommend this series to anyone who likes small town cozy mystery.
I have loved every book in this series. Allison is in charge of library of memories. Her husband has lost his memory and she is doing what she can to see if she can help him get his memory back. Does this library of memories hold the key to help her to help him out. Great book with wonderful characters. So if you enjoy books with small town settings and a little mystery magic this is a must read.
I'll be honest. The only reason I finished this trilogy is to find out if Paul's memories were restored. It's a fun, light read and - dogs! I liked that part. The story was original and Allison, as a main character, was OK. But she tried to solve a mystery by doing some of the things she hated her adversaries for. I didn't care for that. But if you want an original story ARC, decent characters, and like dogs, by all means give this set a look.
Loved this book, characters are well developed and the story keeps you on the edge of your seat. I wanted to rush the book to see how it ended but at the same time I just didn't want it to end. If you enjoy a can't catch your breathe on the edge of your seat kind of mystery you are going to love this book. Recommend both the book and the series, lost some sleep because I just had to keep reading and find out what happened next.
Wonderfully written wrap-up of this great story. Will not disappoint. Allison's unwavering love for her husband, Paul , makes all wishful such love, or reminds us of our loves. Tailor has got to be a favorite, as is Myra in the wonderful cast of characters in this book. Truly a grand finale to a wonderful 3-book story. I thank Hillof books. for another magical set of books, and of course, wonderful dogs throughout.
This was a great finale for this series. I was not expecting it but it made sense! Some laughs, some tears but in this series, it's always family first no matter what the cost is. It's good to read a book with so much love in it. A series like no others! Well done!
I received this book as part of an ARC team and this is my honest opinion.
This is a brilliant read. Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start. Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable. Great suspense and action with wonderful world building. Can't wait to read what the author brings out next. Recommend reading.
I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.
Another great, entertaining, magical book from Hillary Avis! I loved this book. I always say " a book can take you anywhere you want to go" and this book took me into a magical library of memories. If only that were real............... Enjoy! 📚📚
I received this ebook from the author and this is my voluntary, honest review.
This series is really wonderful. You will love the way Allison fights to recover her husband’s love and memories. The different twists and turns in the book keep you guessing and wondering what will happen next. I will truly miss this series, it has found a place in my heart. The characters and the town are so realistic, you feel like you know them personally. Highly recommend this series.
a wonderful magical story, filled with quirky interesting, complex characters. A fun read of a magical town with a mysterious library, that will keep you turning the pages. A fun read! A must read! This is my honest opinion of an ARC I received from the author.
A heart breaking, stand by your husband, magical mystery with great characters story. Oh and I love the saving animals. So the question is how far are you willing to go to get what you want/need or to help someone you love ?
I received this as an arc and this is my honest and voluntary review.
This being the final book in the series, I'm sad, but it was a good series. I wondered how it would end and was surprised and happy with how it did. Will be looking to read more books by this author.
A novel approach to the Magical library and librarian scenario. An interesting approach that was different from any that I have read to date. I am sad to see it end so soon but it was fun to read. Well done Ms. Avis, well done!
The last book in the Magic Library Mysteries did not disappoint, my only disappointment is that the series has ended. I binged this series in less than two days, I seriously couldn't stop reading. I laughed and cried and enjoyed every page!
