Rate this book
Their love story continues…Maceo and Josephine have overcome so much in their new romance, but their challenges are far from over—if anything, their troubles are only starting. The headstrong and independent, Josephine Holland, is a former shell of herself after surviving her stalker, plagued by night terrors and an uneasiness of something—someone—lurking in the shadows. Josephine can’t help but feel she is losing her grip on sanity, fearing the worst is yet to come. The love of her life and president of the Mercy Ravens MC, Maceo Tabares, refuses to sit back and watch her shrink inside the recesses of her mind. He takes command and helps her to remember the woman she was before her abduction, and stands by her side as she rebuilds herself into someone stronger than she could have ever imagined. However, Maceo has not made it this long in his life without listening to his instincts. Taking a page out of Josephine’s book, Maceo follows the illogical route, taking Josephine’s fears seriously, and digs to discover the root of her worries is far more serious than her imagination. With Josephine’s estranged family back in the picture, wedding preparations going amuck, unplanned construction projects, Mercy Ravens missions, spies creeping, leaked personal files, and a hacker causing all kinds of mayhem, life throws Maceo and Josephine lots of hilarious curveballs and heart-shattering moments. And of course, there’s always Esteban Moreno to worry about. But a threat closer to home may be their biggest obstacle—mafioso Don, Lorenzo Bianchi. Lorenzo’s unhealthy attachment to Josephine is only growing by the day, and he has no intentions on backing off, no matter how many threats Maceo makes. Will Josephine be able to overcome her personal fears and use the safety techniques that Maceo has taught her to protect herself from all those who wish to harm her? Will Maceo be able to help Josephine to heal emotionally from her past trauma so she can move forward? Are they doomed to fall apart at the hands of their enemies, or will love, once again, triumph? Lips On My Soul is the second book in the Mercy Ravens MC Series. It's a steamy, protective biker romance with plenty of angst, suspense, and comedy. Reading the previous book in the series is not necessary, but recommended. There are dark elements and strong language in this book. Therefore, it is intended for readers 18+ years. So nice to be back with these characters! 😍😍
We're Atlas and Pixie - ride or die.
Craving an OTT hero and his spitfire heroine? Then you have to read this series!

Maceo and Jospephine - aka Atlas and Pixie - are back for another installment of the Mercy Ravens.
Josephine is my queen and she deserves a royal wedding. Fuck if this isn't frustrating though.
These two were even more fun this time with the wedding in the works and the arrival of Jo's family on the scene. Author MJ Marino's sense of humor . . .
We freeze, hoping if we stay still Mom won't see us, like she's some prehistoric dinosaur with crap eyesight.
. . . and romance . . .
"I promise cuddles every night, kisses anytime you want, and the home you've always wanted."
. . . are truly wonderful. And the supporting cast? I love all the guys from the MC (especially Punk!) and I can't wait to read their stories.

If you're into . . .
✔ OTT protective bikers
✔ take-no-bull heroines
✔ romantic suspense
✔ lots of humor
✔ sweet romance
✔ scorching chemistry
. . . you've found your next read!

3.5 ⭐

We are in book 2 and it's drama from the start and I have to admit Mac kinda pissed me off few times in this story I know he meant well but he pushed a line for Jo.. and she had every right to stay mad at him amd her family and make him grovel more.. kinda wish he did.  A night on the couch would be amazing for him. But that did help her slowly heal with her family which was good.

Few times I did get annoyed with the mom and sister but they grew on me. As for our couple things have been up and down do to her panic attacks from the attack in book 1 and the new threat from stalker lover boy Leronzo.. who won't take no for an answer trying to get Jo to him.

We see all the members grow and we see Mac and Jo grow they still were over the top but I love that Mac was still a alpha just made sure he didn't betray his woman on info.  Now our happy couple is getting married and more suprises happen. I can't wait for book 3.

YEEESSS! When my wife told me book 2 was out, I made her download the book to her kindle. We read this one together (okay, she read it and I listened - she's a faster reader than me). The second book of the series did not disappoint. There was still angst, suspense, lots of hot scenes, but the comedy was double from the first book. My wife loved the bridal store scene. I had too many to pinpoint one (pheromone, tailors, restaurant, the sisters fighting). Maceo really took the cake in this book, there were so many times I felt sorry for his own screw ups. He was just so relatable, a rough guy trying to do right by his woman and learning along the way from his mistakes. And Jo is so feisty, she really grows in this book. But seriously, my favorite dude is Punk out of the MC. When is he going to get his own book? I'm a little upset we read through this so fast even though it was longer than the first. Now I have to wait again for book 3. Any idea when it's coming out? I need to know what happens with Jo and Maceo. Not even ashamed that I'm reading romance now - this author has got me hooked.

I am so happy with the author and how she connects her series together. This is the second book in the series and I stayed up all night reading it after it came out yesterday. I love how this mashup between MC and security romance blends together. This is the continuation of Josephine and Atlas's love story. Some spoilers: This picks up right where book 1 left off. Josephine is struggling with getting back to normal after surviving her attack from book 1. She keeps busy with working her design job and planning for hers and Atlas's upcoming wedding. But she is suffering with nightmares and panic attacks. Therapy is not doing much to help when she feels like there is a new threat hunting her. She is afraid to confess these feelings to Atlas, fearing how he will respond. Will he act out? Will he suspect it's Esteban? Will he not believe her? She eventually confesses to Atlas and he believes her--someone is definitely spying on them, but who? Atlas meanwhile is digging himself a hole by reintroducing Jo's family into their lives before Jo is ready for it. There are so many hilarious scenarios that play out throughout this book--I laughed outload many times. The pheromone scene...dear lord, was I laughing hard. There was equal amount of suspense as well, especially near the end. And the steamy scenes--M.J. delivered. Can Atlas get any hottier?! It's just a good blend of MC, alpha male (alpha couple), strong-willed female, military, security, suspense, contemporary, comic, and sizzling romance. I was so happy with how this story ended and I'm dying for book 3 now, which will be the third part of their love story.

I’m in so deep with this series...these characters...I can’t see straight. Like so stinking deep, don’t bother saving me. I want to be absolutely gone to it. I’m just here letting it consume me every way possible.

I loved how this one was much more humorous than the first. And to me, along with that humor between everyone in the MC and Josephine, it showed that family dynamic. They truly are a family. Maybe not by blood, but a family none the less.

LIPS ON MY SOUL also was a lot more serious than the first. Josephine goes through a lot at the end of book one and now she has to learn to overcome her fears. And it’s not easy. In fact, it’s some of the hardest things she will ever face. But with her new family, her blood family and Maceo, she just may be able to battle through it and come out on the other side.

But guys, that romance! Woooweeee!! I was all over it. And it’s not just the fiery inferno that was between Maceo and Jo. Heck no. We are seeing a major exodus with the guys as they leave their playboyish ways and start seeking their person out. And it is everything. I loved knowing Jo and Maceo set off this domino effect within the MC and now relationships are forming. Romance is a contagious disease running rampant in the house.

Phenomenal in every way possible, I devoured and conquered this book. Well, more like it devoured and conquered me. Already bought book 3. Time to see Esteban get his rear handed to him finally. Am I right? 5 Stars.

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Trope: instalove
Angst: 😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Can't say enough how much I enjoy MJ Marines writing! Great story that repeatedly has me ROLLING laughing. Seriously hysterical at points. Engaging storyline that has a ton of action and suspense. I typically stay away from series with multiple stories about the same couple because I feel like there's too much contrived drama, but this series is the exception to my rule. The characters are what is the true cherry on top. The chemistry between them is off the chain and you can't help but love watching them grow together. Can't wait to read the next one!

I was a little disappointed with this book when compared to the first just because I feel like they didn’t spend a lot of time together here. It seems like she was ALWAYS with Punk or literally anybody but Maceo. And when she was with him, she was mad at him. I’m hoping they’ll have more time together in the next book

And their journey continues.

4,5 stars.

After going through hell in the first book, Josephine and Maceo aren't close to getting the peace they deserve.
But the higher the danger, the stronger they got.
It was captivating seeing their growth and how solid their relationship became.
Whereas in the first book they were getting to know each other and accepting their love was part of their struggles, this time they knew they wanted a life with each other and they're open and unapologetic about it.
Yes, they made mistakes and argued like any other couple, but they were quick to ask for forgiveness and to forgive.
Their main dragon in need to be slashed came from outside, because their love would conquer all on the inside.

This book was full of surprises: unexpected new allies, family reunion, the blooming of new relationships.
And through it all, Josephine and Maceo were fighting hard for each other and their happiness.

It was clear and so beautiful how devoted they were, not only to themselves, but also to their family.
Maceo's brothers played a huge part in their story and I loved their interaction. They loved intensely, they protected bravely and they made me laugh and swoon in equal amounts.
Josephine's mother and sister bothered me at first, but they grew on me and I was soon enjoying their quirks and sassiness.

Just like the first book, this one was as sexy as it was funny and I loved every part of it.

Lips on my soul

Book 2 in the mercy ravens and a continuation of maceo and Jo. I found myself getting a little frustrated with this only bc Jo did spend a lot of time with the other "brothers" and was mad at maceo a lot. All justified, however, since he went behind her back when she was already having issues with panic attacks and ptsd from her attack.

After maceo took off and left Jo during her struggles with night terrors, I was mad at him.
I did really enjoy all the brothers, though, and getting to know them better. I love how they work so well together, and they really want to protect Jo. They are all a family. Lorenzo makes quit a bit of trouble in this one, and I love how Jo got herself back to mostly her normal.

Maceo even taught her how to shoot and some self-defense, which I would've loved more of.

I will be reading the rest of this series but taking a break for a bit before wrapping up maceo and Jo. With Esteban on the loose still and a plan in place im excited to see how it all plays out.

Book 2 continues Josephine and Maceo's love story as well as the drama/villains of the story. I loved their growth as a couple from Book 1 and the ups and downs they faced in the aftermath of Book 1.

I hope the author considers writing separate books for the storylines involving side characters, even if it is just a single book. It could be done in a way that coincides with Jo and Maceo's story. There were parts where the side characters stole the show for me.

Most books only show weddings in an epilogue where as this book takes place during the wedding planning process so I enjoyed the lighter moments between characters. It helped take your mind off of the danger lurking for them.

Overall, would recommend this series. Look forward to the conclusion and hopefully other stories involving relating characters!

I loved, loved, loved the humor and characters in this book. I laughed out loud so many times, which is hard to do when a book is covering dark material like stalking and kidnapping. I did struggle a bit with Jo being a bit off the walls with her anger and emotions. I get she’s dealing with PTSD and a crapload of stuff, but she seems to always have a hair trigger and it’s a tad too melodramatic for me. I love her sass and feistiness, but sometimes her tantrums are better suited to a young teen vs. someone in their late 20s. Maceo is delicious. It’s the best word for him. You can really feel the love between those two, and good heavens the chemistry is boiling hot. Again, I need books for all of the guys in the MC!

4 solid stars…

This is a continuation… there is action , no angst and wonderful chemistry between all characters. When reading you feel apart of the story and it is hard not to love every single character.

This series is similar to a hallmark movie. No Angst and you know the guy is getting the girl…

I book 2 of Atlas and Pixie and just as good as the first. Still all Alpha and still standing up to him Jo and Maceo are goals

Jo is suffering serious PTSD and knows it and gets help. Even after finding out her doctors computer was comprised she is against seeing someone but a comprise is met and she gets help

I like this because mental health is nothing to ignore and I like the MJ Marino shows that

When Simone and her mother are kidnapped and Jo tries to rescue them but leaves the clue it’s brilliant

But I need Punk to fall in love (preferably with me as he is my new and hopefully permanent book boyfriend)

Continuing on with Maceo and Josephine’s love story with Lips on my Soul.

The threat of Jo’s evil ex has been eliminated but her traumatic experience has left deep marks on our heroine.
Maceo is forever at her side to help and comfort her through her ordeal, but when his woman’s intuition can’t shake the fact that she’s still being watched, his protective nature kicks into overdrive.

Jo is struggling to come to terms with her kidnap. Her new family have rallied around her to form a protective shell and with her parents and sister with her again, she doesn’t want for comfort. But she still can’t shake the lingering fear that someone is stalking her and when her privacy has been violated again, her man is out for blood.

If you’ve read Book 1 then you’ll know who Jo’s assailant is as it’s no secret. I enjoyed Book 2 as much as Book 1. I loved Jo’s friendship with the club girls and how respected they are and included as part of the family. Yes, even Candy has won me around. But I loved reading sweet Opal and Gauge’s wee snippets sprinkled throughout (they are also getting their own story) and Tony “Tank” and Ebony. Plus we have the added juiciness of Jo’s sister Simone and Chase. So much to look forward to! Onto Book 3 I go!

M.J. Marino didn't disappoint with the second book in the Mercy Ravens MC Series. If you love MC, alpha-males, strong willed females, steamy romances which keep you wanting more, then you will enjoy Lips on my Soul. I was very happy to see that Maceo kept his alpha-male character, but has grown out of the a**hole stage, owning his faults and being sincere in his love for Josephine. Josephine really rocked the strong female lead in this book. She has a lot to overcome from the drama in book 1 and you can feel her emotional struggles throughout the book. She keeps her backbone and stands up to Maceo when he starts to revert back to his domineering ways. Loved how the author really pulled in the other members of the MC into this book--I think she is setting up the characters for future books and does a good job of leaving you curious about them. There was so much humor in this book along with suspense and steamy scenes. The wedding planning drama had me giggling the entire book. There were several little twists in the book that I didn't see coming either. From what I read in the book 2, book 3 will continue with Josephine and Maceo's story. Really looking forward to reading the next book.

OMG, I need to know what’s going to happen in book 3. I couldn’t put this book down - read it in one day, and it isn’t short. This book had all the suspense and steam of the first one, but lots more humor. I choked on my soda at several parts. The wedding dramas had me roaring. I want to agree with the author on pocket dresses being the best thing ever. Can Maceo get any hotter? I think he got hotter in this book, or maybe it’s because you can see him growing as a partner to Jo. Loved it!

3rd read November 2025: 3rd time this year! Total comfort read !

Re-read May 2025: Still so, so good! ♥️

Original review:
Book 2 of 3
This book picks up right where book 1 ended. Jo is dealing with the aftermath of her abduction and Maceo is doding everything he can think of to make it better.
This book is much like the first one. Plenty of action, drama and suspense. A super loving brotherhood, lots of scorching spice and sweet romance. We also get to see the couples of future books meet and start their ‘chase’. I’m really enjoying this series and can’t wait to read the final book of this trilogy!

Safety:
- No OW
- OM: a mob boss is obsessed with h. Keeps pursuing her and kisses her a couple of times (against her will). He gets dealt with.
- No cheating
- No separation.
- Deals with PTSD, attempted rape, rape and kidnapping.

Book 2 has Jo struggling to recover from her abduction and near-rape at the end of book 1. She’s in counseling and suffering from nightmares and panic attacks and Maceo is doing his alpha best (and sometimes worst) to try and fix things. 😅 Lips On My Soul is filled with lots of emotion and mystery, and there are more pieces to the puzzle than you think!!!! I’m looking forward to seeing how things move forward for the Mercy Ravens MC in the coming books! 💗

Ok let me get this out first, no more how many can get in bed with Pixie to comfort her even if she's mad a her man, no Alpha no matter what genre it is MC or other wise will let anyone comfort his woman no one especially another man, friend or brother's. Now that's said and done, as I said in book one this series ROCK the saga continues and I can't wait there's so much to look forward to so please don't make us wait to long 😇😇 !!!!

Lips on my Soul is book 2 of Mercy Ravens Series. You can read it as a standalone, but to really enjoy the story and fall deeply in love with the characters, I recommend reading the first book in the series, Lips on my Heart.

Between finishing the headquarter construction, wedding arrangements, unwanted family coming to the ceremony, PTSD problems, therapy, and a stalker on the loose, Jo and Maceo try their best to survive all the problems and make their relationship stronger.

Jo grows a lot in this story, trying in her heart to forgive her family for their wrongdoings to her, after Maceo reintroduces them in her life too early. Her relationship with her sister is crazy, but they have a beautiful bond. The panic attacks are heart-wrenching, and you share with her all her fear and anxiety, but she comes out of it stronger than before.

Maceo is the biker who tries hard to do right by Josephine. He’s all possessive alpha, but he’s not afraid of shedding tears and showing his feelings to the woman he loves. His protective nature over Jo makes him do things he shouldn’t at the heat of the moment, but she sure makes him grovel for all the messed ups he caused.

Their story is enthralling, full of drama and suspense, grabbing your attention from the first page. Jo and Maceo chemistry has been scorching hot since book one, and grew to a fiery inferno in the bedroom. Their time together is sexy, steamy, and combusting, but also full of love and fun, and they will leave the reader gasping and cheering for them, and they are there for each other in good or bad times.

There are lots of ‘laugh out loud’ situations throughout the book. The MCs are the perfect friends, and their roles are way important to the story. They are a bunch of growly alphas, but with a teddy bear soul, helping to make everything more realistic and giving depth to the story.

The twists and turns keep you on your toes, and what a surprise! I’ve never seen that coming! The ending will leave the reader flabbergasted! I loved every page and read it in one day ‘cause I just couldn’t put it down. Lips on my Soul is the perfect sequel for Lips on my Heart, and I can’t wait to read the next one.

2.5⭐️

Macro pissed me off not going to lie…. Constantly overstepping Jo’s boundaries even if she did reconcile with her family. Multiple times she states that he’s overstepped and he even acknowledges it too says “I need to respect my women…” blah blah but then does it again.
-going behind her back to her parents and lying to her
-then says he wants to help with wedding to push it off on her mom to help when Jo is clearly ready to jump out a fricken bathroom window than deal with her Mom stressing her out more
-making her still go to the therapist even after Jo says she feel violated bc the hacker got her file
-him whining that he’s doing it bc he doesn’t have his family anymore and family is important and etc. like let her deal with her feelings and not force yours on her
-she removes her birth control bc he misinterprets her going to clinic with sister as that’s what she was going to do but when she clarifies it was only to accompany her sister and not for the BC removal, she still does it bc she didn’t want to disappoint him. Like no she told him she wanted to have the house and the other projects done before pregnancy but again it’s what he wants.

And Jo is dealing with the aftermath from the previous book. For Maceo to say yea I understand PTSD and then constantly be adding more stress to Jo which leads her to have panic attack bc he was trying to help but really he was being overbearing. Then Jo also had her moments like she says I’m mad at him but then one kiss and boom they end up having sex then it’s like all is forgiven….

And then her mother like ugh!!!!!!!!!!!👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
Sibling fighting I get but the Mom nope nope nope. I ended up screaming “shut up” to my kindle a few times and rolling my eyes.

Loved that Jo fought back Lorenzo tho and had quick thinking and wasn’t going to let herself become a victim again.

Still gonna read the next one bc now gotta see what happens with Esteban tho.

I’ll start out by saying I absolutely loved the first book, Lips on my Heart. I was excited to learn that there was a series with these characters but hesitant. I rarely read series because the time I have for reading tends to be far and few between and with series, I always forget details and whatnot. But I knew I really wanted to read more with Jo and Maceo so when I had the chance, I jumped at it.

The second book was just as wonderful and attention-grabbing as the first. Jo and Maceo were exactly how I remember them but at the same time, there was growth and change between both.

It broke my heart seeing Jo deal with the aftermath of the first book. So many times I’ve read series where the characters brush off life-changing events as if it’s nothing and it was so refreshing to see that this was not the case. After all, it shouldn’t be. Jo went through some shit and of course it’s going to affect her in the long run. As someone who suffers from mental illness, I was able to relate to Jo on a much deeper level.

Maceo also goes through a transformation without jeopardizing the traits that make me love him as a character. He stumbles, he makes mistakes, he royally fucks up at LEAST twice but I love that at his core, everything he does he does because he loves Jo and you can really feel that when you read.

Overall the book was fantastic and captivated me so much that I read it in two days. I couldn’t put it down! Can’t wait to jump into the next one!

Book 2

Mercy Ravens MC

Trigger warnings and things
Pierced mmc
Stalker
Hacking into therapy files
Absolute betrayal of club from inside
Kidnapping
SA
Violence

Jo and Maceo are back in book 2. Apparently, she still has to worry about stalkers. She had three in the first book, and now she's down to two. The death of her first one, her ex, is still playing on her mind, but Lorenzo Bianchi still hasn't gotten the hint to leave her be. And Stalker #3 is still out there. All this on top of Maceo going behind her back to her parents, and Jo is losing it. But when they find out who set them up to be betrayed? All heck is about to break free...
And she still has a third stalker

If I had known that books 1 and 2 were cliffhangers, I would not have gotten the series. But now I'm invested and must finish to see if they get an HEA or not. This book was just as emotionally devastating as the first.
