Darkly elegiac and filled with psychological density, these twenty-five poems chart the experience and conscience of a generation finding its way through a disjunctive and fragmented world
St. John is one of the best living poets around. The language and the imagery in this collection is lovely, to say the least. The book is out of print, but if you can get your hands on a copy, I recommend curling up with it and reading it 10 times in one sitting from cover to cover, and then doing the same thing the next day.
I don't usually like to meet or hear authors read their work because I always walk away slightly let down. The one time I met and heard St. John read, I was even more impressed.
