We were only kids when Daisy Price declared I would be her husband one day. In that moment, she sealed her fate. I knew right then that she would be mine, and I would be hers. Forever.
Until one day everything changed. Now she won’t even pay me a bit of attention unless it’s to give me that mouth of hers, and not in the way I’ve always dreamed. But I’ll take it. I’ll always take whatever I can get when it comes Daisy.
If my cowgirl needs me to prove I’m the man for her, that I’m the one that will always fight for us she better hold tight because I’m not taking pieces of her anymore. I want it all. She’s always been my cowgirl, and I plan on holding her to the promise she made me all those years ago.
Author Note: This is a stand-alone sweet romance with no cheating and a HEA.
Second chance stories that are actually safe are rare. Often they get involved with others. It's frustrating though that a simple conversation could have quickly settled this. I chalked it up to them be if so young at the time.
-no cheating -no I'm drama -no violence of any nature -separation of a few years. They occasionally saw each other but the relationship was tense -dual virgin ❤ -good epilogue many years later with marriage and babies
We saw a snip of these two and knew why Daisy was ignoring Eric. But poor bunny had no clue what happened the love of his life just gave him cold shoulder and didn't give him the time of day.
Now its her turn to go off to college and hes alittle paranoid and wants to spend as much time with her. Taking her and Noelle with Josh to their new apartment in the city and try to fix their relationship its easy. And fast they do find out why that misunderstanding happened and him and Josh have some words. But they have another tiny problem that gets fix pretty fast.
No om drama tiny ow drama (some chick but misunderstanding), no cheating, Slight secondary charas, sexy times, both virgins

Friends to lovers, each other's first and only. But the plot was meh, and I didn't enjoy it. Anyway, it's short, so I guess it's still enough to pass some time. 🤷♀️
I actually liked Always His Cowgirl more than the previous book in the series, Forever Her Cowboy. The romance just had an overall sweet vibe and despite the couple having to overcome the drama of a misunderstanding, it helped that both the Hero and Heroine were so confident about each other.
I also liked how once they got together, they didn’t seem to move too fast (it was fast compared to the average real-life person BUT not so fast compared to Noelle and Josh). I also liked how despite the book being a novella the author still made the effort to have the couple talk about living in separate places, their future, marriage (in a couple of months) and children (a few years in the future).
Obviously, the novella is supposed to be a quick, sweet and steamy romance but it also didn’t have too many cliches (like the no protection thing that frustrated me to no end in Forever Her Cowboy).
Lucy is an absolute queen of quick, sexy over the top romance reads. A flawless read, she manages to pack a punch with her stories.
There’s no complications, no cheating, just pure romance that I can’t get enough of.
Josh and Daisy are a prime example of what I crave in my leads. Strong alphas with hearts that belong to their woman. They don’t look at anyone else. They don’t hesitate, they’re respectful and love with every fibre of their being.
Sweet, innocent sexy heroines that you can’t help but like.
This was even sweeter! Daisy and Eric have let a couple of years get in their way, due to a misunderstanding and some meddling. Finally together and it is soooo sweet. The epilogue makes you want to cry. Hoping we get at least one or two more stories for the other brothers!
The couple is lovely and sweet,i love the fact that they were in love for such a long time, since they were kids. I hated that they were being apart because of a misunderstanding ,but i'm glad they waited for each others. The things that made me mad is having OFF PAGE important things like : the proposal, her first time seeing the house he made for her even when they were apart , the wedding day, her getting pregnant... We were right there with them with everything and then the author decided to do the most important things off page. :( sadly
Lucy Darling has done it again! I loved this story of life long love that got derailed and then back on course. It was entertaining and enjoyable as well as sweet as heck! The characters were interesting and lovable. I loved how close their families were and how they acted like one big family. Daisy and Eric were just the cutest couple once everything was figured out. I loved their happy ever after and I recommend reading this book.
HERO - Eric Davis. Recent college graduate. No physical description given.
HEROINE - Daisy Price. Recent high school graduate heading to college. Wants to be a vet tech. Shoulder-length dark brown hair.
OVERALL THOUGHTS - This is the companion novella to Forever Her Cowboy (FHC) and takes place around the same time. Josh and Noelle from FHC, as well as the couples from Never Let Go and Never Been Kissed feature as side characters. Eric is the son of PJ and Davis from the latter while Daisy is the daughter of Bunny and Jameson from the former.
Now that’s out the way - the book started off on the wrong foot for me. I dislike prologues and this one was longer than it needed to be. I didn’t need the scene describing Daisy picking out an outfit and getting dressed. Yes, it established her friendship with Noelle, but really that had no place in the prologue, nor did the info dumping conversation between them. It should have started when Daisy entered the backyard and spoke to Josh.
I do like that we finally get clarification on everyone’s ages. In Josh and Noelle’s book, Josh’s age was never mentioned, leaving me wondering whether he was supposed to be two or four years older than her. Now I know - Josh and Eric are two years older than Noelle and Daisy. Something else revealed here that I don’t believe was in the other book is that Eric and Josh graduated after their junior year of high school. That makes way more sense - finishing a bachelor’s degree in three years is tough, but possible. A bachelor’s in the two years implied in the other book? Ha! Why wasn’t all this information revealed in FHC? I wouldn’t have been nearly as frustrated and confused.
~RECORD SCRATCH~ Future me, here. Never mind what I said about it making more sense. Eric confirms that he only went to college for two years so I’m back to wondering what kind of degree he got. He MUST have meant an Associates in Business. I refuse to believe he managed a bachelor’s in two years. Okay, back to the review.
Actions happened so suddenly that I was left confused how we got there. For example, when Daisy hugs Eric for the first time after they make up there’s no build up to it or indecision on her part. We were in her POV so I expected there to be some hesitation before putting herself out there and embracing him. But no, she just does it without thinking and justifies it by saying hers is a family of huggers. Huh...no big deal, I guess. It’s not like she spent several years feeling betrayed and giving him the cold shoulder or anything.
The whole time I was reading, I felt like scenes were missing. For example, there’s never a discussion between Eric and Josh about who was helping and driving which girl. It just happens that Eric shows up to help Daisy and in FHC, Josh shows up at Noelle’s house. Considering Josh is Daisy’s brother, and would therefore be expected to help her, a scene of him and Eric working out the basic plan is almost a requirement, in my mind. Or at the very least, a reference to them having spoken off page. I felt that way multiple times throughout the story. Daisy and Eric going from “not together” to “together” almost gave me whiplash.
The dialogue all throughout the book felt unnatural and at times it was difficult to tell who was speaking. Every single character felt one-dimensional. Daisy and Eric don't seem to exist outside of each other's presence. Daisy is described as being very social and loving attention, but we're never shown that. Eric isn't really described to have much of a personality at all, unfortunately.
When Daisy and Eric discover Josh and Noelle together in bed, there’s almost no reaction to it. I didn’t get a good sense of either lead’s driving motivations or core personalities. What makes them tick? What causes them to react in the ways they do? I simply can’t answer those questions and it wouldn’t surprise me if the author couldn’t either. That’s probably why they have almost no emotion or reaction to anything that happens.
Communication between Daisy and Eric is almost nonexistent. They grew up together and then stopped talking after a misunderstanding that could’ve been cleared up within five minutes instead of years. Then after they reunite, they still suck at voicing their concerns. Eric chooses not to discuss his worry over her growing “love” for the city and when Daisy notices something’s wrong she very vaguely asks, “what’s happening?” Luckily it doesn’t grow into a huge drama or anything, but it’s still disappointing to see that they haven’t grown in that sense even by almost the end of the book.
Another frustrating thing is that every single character is very sparsely described, if at all. Eric actually gets zero description. Daisy and Josh have dark hair. Noelle wears glasses. That’s it. No eye colors, no heights, no builds, no distinct characteristics. How is it possible the author went an entire 70-something pages without describing her characters in detail? The same issue was present in FHC, but unlike with that book, this time I refuse to try and track down descriptions in previous books. If an author isn’t going to give me all the basic information I need in the book I’m currently reading, then I’ll just consider it to not exist because this is ridiculous. The passing of time is also very vague.
The second epilogue was cute and made me long for more scenes showing the camaraderie between characters. We didn't see any scenes of Eric and Josh despite them being best friends. After the prologue, there wasn’t any girl time between Daisy and Noelle (the one kitchen scene plays out more so in Noelle’s book than it does this one).
Overall, I think it’s pretty obvious I didn’t fall in love with this book. I love the premise, but it wasn’t executed well, in my opinion.
SAFETY Age: Daisy - 18; Eric - 20. It’s never specifically mentioned for either, but Daisy’s just graduated high school and Eric is two years older than her.
Sexual History: Both are virgins
Condoms: Not used. Daisy is on birth control.
Heat Level: Hot - 3/5
Push/Pull: Not really, but the majority of it takes place prior to the start of the story. At the boys’ graduation party, Daisy’s brother Josh implies Eric slept with another girl, which was untrue. For years, Daisy chose not to ask Eric about it while Eric chose not to ask Daisy why she started avoiding him. Once the story begins, the push/pull ends before chapter two.
Separation: No, not once the story starts.
Cheating: No
OW/OM drama: No, but also yes Daisy’s brother Josh implies Eric slept with another girl, which was untrue. That was several years ago, but it doesn’t get cleared up until present day. The girl doesn't make an appearance present day.
Sex scene with OW/OM: No
Abuse: No
Possible Pet Peeves/Triggers: No
HEA/HFN: HEA There are two epilogues. The first is set seven months later and takes place the night before their wedding. The second is set “many years later” and there’s no clue as to how many. They’re married with twins (one boy, one girl) and have another baby on the way.
Always his Cowgirl is the story of PJ and Davis' son Eric and Bunny and Jameson's daughter Daisy. The couples from Never Been Kissed and Never Let Go. Eric learned how to be a very loyal and good man from the very best, his and Daisy's fathers. From the time Daisy was old enough to stomp around in here little cowboy boots she knew she was going to be marrying Eric. I love these short stories. They hit just the right spot when you don't have a lot of time.
SAFETY remarks - SAFE - Dual virgins, each others one and only!!! - cheating/sharing: no - ow/om: no - separation/breakups: not necessarily - possible triggers: a comment of him cheating but it wasn’t true and they weren’t together yet. - HEA
Simple. Short. It follows book 3. This is Josh’s sister and his best friend. Every thing got solved fast.
It’s an okay book. I wish he was more proactive in getting to know why she stopped talking to him. Misunderstandings for too long.
Sweet sweet Daisy declared she was going to marry Eric when she was just a little girl... fast forward many years ans the plans haven’t changed, until one lie, one misunderstanding changes the course of the lives they once planned... Daisy no longer can see him as the boy she’s going to marry... Eric doesn’t know what changed so quickly. But he’s going to find out and claim what he always believe was rightfully his... Daisy... Great story intertwine a few Lucy Darling books as well as epilogues a few years in let’s us know what the whole family is up too!❤️❤️
“I’ll wait until I take my last breath. It’s you or no one.”
Loved this one. You'll recognize the H, Eric and the h, Daisy since they were a pretty big part of Josh and Noelle's story in Forever Her Cowboy. They were each other's one and only everything, which I love. No abuse. No cheating and epilogues are several years out.
Lucy D has quickly earned my trust for being a go to author who I can one-click with ease. I can depend that she ISNT going to have cheating, abuse, crappy love scenes, heroines who don’t belong completely to their heroes or Zeroes instead of heroes.
This book was what I’ve come to expect: lots of sweetness, a fun story, a smart and feisty heroine and a devoted, possessive alpha who is COMPLETELY COMMITTED to his one and only. And the CHERRIES ON TOP, this one was DOUBLE VIRGINS, soooo DOUBLE SWOON! They belong ONLY to each other, no sliming around with others and severing the connection that comes from being sexually initiated by the other. You never forget your first and who wants their soul mate to carry the memory of another in such a personal and intimate and powerful moment, to have that belong to some meaningless loser?! Can’t get it back once it’s thrown away on someone unworthy.
This one goes in the “LURVED it so much I bought it” file. Goes without saying, no cheating, no ow/om drama, no abuse, HEA with epilogues, last one a few years out.
Daisy has loved Eric her whole life ever since she was little she’s always said Eric was gonna be hers. Eric has always felt the same way about Daisy too. Things unfortunately go wrong at Eric and Josh‘s graduation party. Josh thinking to spare Daisy the pain of being separated from Eric, he lies to her and tells her that he is in the barn with another girl from school. Not believing him she heads over to the barn and unfortunately sees Eric coming out of the barn and behind him is the girl and she looks like she’s adjusting her dress, thinking the worst she decides she wants nothing more to do with Eric. Poor Eric doesn’t know what happened, she won’t talk to him or look at him, he leaves for college so confused and heartbroken. A few years ago by and now it’s Daisy‘s turn to leave for college. The boys are going to help her and Noelle move into their college apartment. While packing Daisy realizes Eric is also a family friend and she needs to make her peace with whatever happened to their relationship so she decides to start interacting with him. Eric seeing the opening decides he’s going to get her back. As they being to talk more they both realize that Josh had lied about Eric and another girl. Eric has always been true to Daisy. After confronting Josh all is forgiven and they have their happily ever after. Two epilogues, seven moths later on eve of their wedding and many years later with kids.
This book flowed much better than the book written before it. It provided more background on the characters and I was able to follow it better. It's almost as if this book was written before the first one.
It was an okay read. It was too fast-paced for me, though. One minute, she was still thinking of forgiving him so they can be friends again, and then next thing I know is they're back together without any thought on either of their parts. This story had so much potential but definitely did not deliver.

Always His Cowgirl is the story of Daisy and Eric.
Brothers best friend, best friends sister, Josh causes a dysfunction in the group between the two and they don’t talk for years but he comes back and demands to know what’s wrong and why she hates him and she doesn’t spill but forgives him when he tells her the real story which dotes on Josh getting punched in the gut for his betrayal not only as a friend but also as a brother. They apologised and all is well and they have twins.
°Both virgins °Dual POV °She's 18 (I think) and he's around 20 when they get together °No OM drama °No real OW drama - the h's brother told her that the H had slept with a girl, this happened in the past -when she was 15- and it was the reason why she pushed him away for years °I didn't like that the hero never tried to talk to the h when he noticed that she started avoiding him °No cheating or scenes with OP °Epilogue: 7 months and "many years" later -married with 2 kids and another on the way
I couldn't be more thrilled with Always His Cowgirl! Just as sweet, just as perfect as a creme puff and everything I hoped it would be. Eric is so dang hot, loyal and sexy as all get out. He only has eyes for his girl no matter how long it takes to have her in his arms. Daisy is feisty and loving, regardless of how long she has held onto the hurt she felt so long ago. Another delicious tale by this absolute treasure of an author, Lucy Darling, 5 stars for Daisy and Eric!
Yay! I'm so glad we get Daisy and Eric's story. I also loved that we got to see more of these loving families together years down the road. I just love how much these people love and care for each other. I'm usually not a fan of second chance romances, but I'm not sure this story could have been told any other way:) Can't wait to see what comes next. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review
When Daisy was just a young girl she told Eric that one day they would kiss and get married. That day was the day Eric knew she was right a d their fates were sealed. Then years later something happens, it comes between Daisy and Eric and they may never recover from the fallout. This is a fantastic story and I highly recommend it!
