Book Six:

I've just finished Book Six of the Dark Gate Angels, which is funny, as I could only find an ebook version with 4 books to the Series &, considering what I'm reading has 10 books, that's a huge difference!

But, as I wrote in the notes, most of the books seem to consist of the Dark Gate Angels fighting the enslaved Orcs, along with the ancient female Orc, Grok, who is determined to enslave the Elf, Anabelle.

This story ended with a partial victory, in that Grok was stopped, even though the Dark Lord is still plotting his evil stuff, so I guess I won't know what's going to happen next, until I've read Book Seven: 'End of the Beginning', to find out more!

Once I have read it, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I think of this next episode in these very kick#ss adventures! Lol

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Book Seven:

A word of advice:
Whatever you do, DON'T read the beginning of Chapter 4 while eating breakfast - especially a cooked breakfast! Lol

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Books 8 & 9:

The Dark Gate Angels have been tasked with making sure that the Dark One is finally dead & gone!

Quelle Surprise!

Guess who's still clinging on with his fingernails?

And guess who has to travel through Hell to search for him? Lol

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

15-11-2025:

Book 10:

Well!

I just finished the complete series &, if you saw any liquid on my face, I assure you it's just hot here, in wet & windy Wales!

I am NOT crying, I assure you!

Nope.

Not even a little bit!

Why are my eyes, nose & cheeks red?

erm . . . . . .

It's allergies!

Yup!

Lots & Lots of allergies . . .
honestly, guv! Lol

This final book of the Dark Gate Angels came together in ways that you might expect, with a book filled with fallible heroes.

With some disasters.

With crazy, last-minute heroics that had me grating my teeth, while said liquid fell from my eyes.

Let's be honest, I blubbered like a baby, at the loss of certain characters &,, NO, I'm NOT going to say who, as I really hate it when people kiss & tell, so to speak!

As I reviewed each of these 10 books in the Dark Gate Angels series, I've been giving a steady 4 out of 5 stars for each one as, although I loved them, they were, after all written. for a rather younger audience than myself (I'm now 64, going on 12)!

But, this final book in the series made up for that, in spades, showing a depth of emotional maturity in our characters that, although present in each book, hadn't fully matured until this final book - which, of course, makes perfect sense to me, having travelled that road, myself.

I won't lie. There were a few times that yet another major battle made me sigh a little - but that's because I'm at a time in my life where I've already lived through countless battles, in fact, am battling right now, myself, so I'm over enjoying that constant fight against everything.

But this didn't detract from the message of this final book, and I read that, with an almost sad sense, that the majority of all of this should really be behind me, now.

All I can keep repeating, though, is that this was a surprisingly poignant feeling for me, as each chapter of this final book brought things to a conclusion.

I'm so very glad that I decided to read this series.

But what about the next one?

To be honest with you, I'm really not sure what to read next. I'm going through a rather bad patch with my health right now, and am having to also deal with changes to my ability to even survive, financially, as our present Gov are hitting us Chronically I'll/Disabled, with one monetary blow after another.

This is putting a huge strain on my peace of mind, my physical health, & my emotional stability, & so my reading habits are all over the place.

I think, as I've had pain keeping me company all night, yet again, I'll just finish this and, once I've had what sleep my body will allow me, I'll decide, then, what to read.

So, until I catch you on the flip side, I'll bid you a, brief, adieu!

Confusing!!!

This story, from what I can gather, is based around a game called middang3ard, which is also a planet which the people on earth travel to with use of a hadron collider ( look it up! ). It also has orcs and references from Lord of the rings.
On top of that, it gets confusing with the Dark One ( yes that is what he is called....) When attacked, can change into weird beings, for instance, a black sticky goo which is part God from hell, gets sliced and becomes a being with 2 heads, one is a lion, the other is a goat, with the top part of the body of an eagle, and the bottom part of a snake????. Stupid!!!
The story would have been good, apart from the stupid scenarios and ridiculous beings.
This set of books takes about 60hours to read. By the time I got half way through, I was wanting to give up because it was so bad.
To make it worse, after a couple of books in, he decided to talk about himself and about covid, then back to the story. Then, a few more books and he does again, talking about his friends and kids and photos as well, and then you are back to the story.
So to conclude.... Never again do I want read any of this author's books.
Not recommended!!.
P.s.
The most used words throughout this set is shit and ass. I don't mind the use of swear words in books, but this author has taken the use of these words to a whole new level.

If you like Supernatural fight scenes, this series may be for you

I've read other works written by Mr. Anderle, or in this case, books that he was involved with. I've liked some, didn't care all that much for others. This, for me, falls in that 'others' category. I should have been able to read these 1800 or so pages (minus frequent Authors notes) in far less time than I managed to read this series.

I liked some characters, didn't care much for others. I'm still wondering why Sarah and Kravis were even included, since they weren't really developed. The overall plot wasn't bad, it was just very drawn out. Pretty good World Building. The last portion which took place mainly in Hell seemed to be disconnected from the main story. And don't get me started on the ending. I didn't like it very much. After all the time I had invested in this series, I wanted a happier finale.

My main beef was the unending action scenes. They got exhausting to read, so I had to put the book down frequently. They were written pretty well....but when there are that many fights it just gets tiresome--at least for me. To be fair, it likely deserves a better rating if you love action stories, so I'm giving it 3-1/2 Stars. Not for me, but still a decent read.

Pretty good series

So I liked the books, kinda remind me of other books I've read, different heroes and bad guys, but along same lines. I became confused in the later books when the goblin Creon suddenly is a gnome, that made me go all the way back to the beginning to figure out if it was even the same guy. I didnt become too attached to any of the characters as none of them really take much shape, but the books aren't very long it was a nice escape for a couple days. Considering I read them free on my Amazon device I give it a 4 stars because I was curious how it ended.

Pretty good.

Some unique twists in these books although I found it difficult to relate to most of the female protagonists. While interesting and diverse in their backgrounds and personalities, even Terra as the "every woman" was a little hard for me to connect with. Still, the humor was there as well as several sob scenes. The tie-up was over the top, but still a nice finish and I hope eventually this cast will move forward to a new series.

By some weird coincidence, this is the third book in a month where a character "sprints" across an "arms-length" (or equivalent) distance. Sometimes I wonder if a lot of these books are written by the same person under different pen names. Or maybe the author has extraordinarily long arms and extraordinarily short legs?

I joke. The point I am making is that these authors don't care about the words and just vomit them onto the page. Pity their word processor. Don't buy their books.

Undecided

I had a difficult time deciding what rating and review I would give this Omnibus. It's a long read, and parts of it were boring, even the action scenes. Parts of it were really good. I wish I could have given it a 3.5, but instead I rounded it up. All in all, it was a good read, but I feel like it would have benefited from being shorter. I did like the books, just not sure I would recommend them.

What characters, what twist and turning plots, even the end has a twist to it.
It is a Must Read for those who look for intriguing story lines, supported by great characters.I
From protecting the nine universe's, to fighting in actual Hell, it has so much to enjoy.

Tons of fight scenes. I mean there are oodles of fight scenes with this series and if you like fight scenes then this is YOUR kind of story.

I loved the entire story arc from start to finish... my only beef with this series is the inconsistencies with the side-characters. One of them kept on being switched from a goblin to a gnome then back again.

Congratulations to Ramy Vance and Michael Anderle for this amazing series. It’s extremely hard to find such interesting and exciting authors who not only write intelligently but also provide top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories.

Glad I got to read till the end of the series

I only read the first three and didn't get around to reading the rest. I am glad that I did. Full of action and spectacular worlds and surreal dimensions.
Great characters with realistic heroes.
A beautifully imagined universe.

Gruesome

On the whole, enjoyed this (and the other) series but book 10 went beyond fantasy and the “fight” scenes were totally bizarre and unnecessary. Skipped great chunks to reach the end, which was somewhat of a whimper and a bit too tidy. Shame

The story is good, but ...

The battle scenes are way too long and there are so many of them. If you like battles you'll love these books. If you like plot, you're going to be fast forwarding a lot.

It does include bits of other story arcs

Because of the multiple story lines it can get confusing. There are small continuity errors but is well edited. Violent war/torture but PG otherwise.

Well written sci-fi fantasy with lots of characters in different races joining forces to uncover a mutual enemy and try to defeat that enemy. There were some very imaginative plot twists and turns. It is a series that will keep you entertained for quite a while.

I can't seem to get enough of Ramy Vance and Michael Anderle! Their books draw you in and keep you enthralled until the very end. The only negative comment I have is that they are producing new books faster than I can read them and I'm falling behind!
