Sacha Prentiss is an interior designer in partnership with Sam, an architect and the friend who helped her recover after her divorce.
Lucas Marshall is a businessman who needs to completely re-design and decorate a home he has bought to accommodate his invalid sister. The time restraints make it imperative that the work start immediately.
Lucas is also house-sitting for his cousin, Jeremy and Jeremy’s partner, Keith while they take some time away. On the first morning in Jeremy’s house, Lucas realizes he has no milk for his coffee and goes next door to borrow some from the nice lady next door. Naturally, Jeremy and Keith had already told Lucas that their next door neighbor, Sacha, is the decorator of their home, so he is anxious to meet this special lady.
As Lucas approaches the back screen door, he sees a lovely young woman dancing to the music from her head phones. When she realizes someone is watching, Sacha is embarrassed, realizing she is being observed at such an unguarded moment. Upon hearing the reason for the unexpected visit, Sacha practically threw the milk container at him.
Sacha is shocked later to see Lucas enter her office and ask her to work on his cottage. Lucas will make every effort to include Sacha in every step of getting his cottage ready for his sister. Can Sacha and Lucas work together successfully and get the project completed in time?
Believable plot with interesting characters and lots of surprises.

But love conquers all and we get our HEA.
I liked this book but I didn't love it, the story was good but it lacked in chemistry between the stars of the book. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
1 Stars It’s not for me This book just don’t do it What with the interaction between h&H utterly cant get me stick to the book Even the ending was kind of making me giving expressions “ say whatttttt “
So basically the 1 Stars just to the fact is a freeby
The story line was amazing and i had trouble putting the book down so i could sleep. There were very few grammatical issues and at one point the author switched the names of Maddie and Larrisa around which made it confusing a bit but other then that it was a really good read and i would recommend this book of you like the arrogant guy humble girl style of books.
this was a very okay read for the first like 60%, i was pretty sure i was gonna give it 4 or 3 stars until THE AUTHOR STARTED TO FUCK IT UP
for some reason this book was extremely dragged out because of the introduction of the main character's sister, Larissa. Okay so from what we are told Larissa is a leeching bitch who hurt her sister throughout her life and was never grateful to anything her sister did for her even though Sacha practically raised her. She stole her husband and did nothing for herself while Sacha worked her ass off to provide for the both of them and their presumably sick mother,
okay well after Sacha cuts Larissa out of her life bc she found her in bed with her husband Larissa comes back and gets herself hired for the main guys sick sister, as her personal assistant.
as we probably predicted Larissa is shit at her job and even drugs Lucas' sister Madeliene, which makes her need to have a kidney transplant and all that shit-
earlier in the book after a disastrous meeting between Sacha and Larissa where Sacha finds out Lucas hired her sister they both end up crying and Sacha goes home, Lucas was contemplating running after her but then decides against it because for some reason, and i quote ''larissa is my responsibility now'', WHAT???? SINCE WHEN????
after all that shit with the kidney failure Lucas decides to be pressing charges against Larissa (obviously) and then Sacha basically hunts down Larissa to ask her why tf she even came back and Larissa goes on a ranting to why she is the way she is and that it's all Sacha's fault because she's miss-perfect and shit,
this review is so messy)
Larissa tells Sacha that the reason she basically slept with her husband was because, and i quote ''I was lonely and bored and it just happened''
THEN LITERALLY NOT EVEN ONE PAGE LATER SHE SAYS RORY WAS ALWAYS FLIRTING W HER AND SHE WANTED TO SEE HOW FAR HE WOULD GO SO SHE GOT DRUNK W HIM
clearly the author did NOT think through this
because of Larissa's pity story about Sacha studying more than her bc her mom told her to shut up Sacha gets very emotional and thinks ''lucas was right; this was all the family she had'' and decides to help her lawyer up against lucas' sister, WHOM SHE BASCIALLY WOULD HAVE KILLED IF LUCAS DIDN'T GET THERE AT THE RIGHT TIME
dnf'd this right then and there
(was this review even understandable???, lmao sorry for this)

This was an enjoyable read. Sacha has her heart locked up tight and hopes to keep it that way ever since she found her husband and her sister together she walked out and got divorced never to see them again. Lucas is a millionaire who is wanting to get his sister set up in her own home and out of hospital she has been poorly through cancer for a long time. Sacha meets Lucas when he asks to borrow some milk he is staying at his friends house while they are away a house that Sacha an interior designer decorated for them. Lucas employs Sacha to design his sisters house as she has been recommended and he has seen her work also so he can spend more time with her. Sacha is not sure how to act around Lucas as there is chemistry between them but she also is not sure as not wanting to get hurt anymore. Lucas and Sacha get to see more of each other but through his meddling Sacha pulls back only then does he realise that he loves her and needs to make things right with her but that is going to take time. His sister ends up back in hospital and it involves Sacha’s sister she needs to get to the bottom of what is going on and she finds out what went on the day she walked out on her and her now ex husband Sacha’s sister goes to rehab for her addiction Sacha also had to take the chance and let Lucas in otherwise she would lose him for good.
This is another great book to read .when you start reading you are not going to want to put it done . It was really well written . The love between family and friends was very special . It's just a great book . You have to get it and read it and see for yourself . Enjoy

Sachs is an interior designer and while her neighbors are on vacation, they allow a cousin, Lucas, to temporarily stay until a cottage he bought is up and running to sustain his sister after she gets released from the hospital after the majority of her cancer treatments have finished.
Lucas is the millionaire in this storyline who is immediately attracted to Sachs and hires her to work on the cottage and other development projects he has in the works. She essentially has 8 weeks to complete the cottage for Maddie to move in.
Love the fireworks between them and Sacha's naivety in life. Lucas' character is written as a dominant alpha male. Sacha is sweet, clumsy, smart, and broken. Large part is due to her sister, or is it?
An enjoyable light read about a recently divorced woman who reluctantly falls in love with the handsome and very rich man staying at her neighbor's house. At first she resists but the sexual urge and energy is too strong and she relents to her passion. Life becomes complicated when her sister with whom she has not been on speaking terms moves in with her lover's sister. The sister's relationship or lack thereof is resolved in an unusual manner and I am left unconvinced that the sister has truly mended her ways. A fast read.
Interesting romance. Lucas was very ambivalent in his feelings and behaviour so I could understand why Sacha is so confused. Having said that I was impatient with Sach's overall attitude and her naievity. She too was sending mixed signals. I loved how she stood up for herself and stuck to her principles. The subplot with her sister and Maddie added to the story , gave it some depth. It kept me rivetted when I should have been sleeping. I would certainly recommend this book and this author.
There were a lot of different family dynamics addressed in this story. More attention was paid to them than the relationship between Sacha and Lucas. I wanted to like Sacha. She is a determined woman who works hard. But when it comes to men she is pathetic. It was hard to read at certain times because she was such a doormat. Then the story goes off on a few different tangents further taking away from the romance.
I enjoyed the story but there seemed to be something missing, causing it to feel a bit empty. There was the normal attraction between Lucas and Sasha but I think it was more just lust. They didn’t seem to share too much personal information and tip toed around each other claiming their work kept them too busy for a relationship,
This story was very sweet and romantic! I really enjoyed it! However, there were quite a few spelling and formatting errors that would pull me out of the story. Maybe I’m weird but it made it hard to focus on the story when a new paragraph could start in the middle of a sentence.
Actually a very good read. Limited sex scenes, almost clean, and a lot of melodrama. It’s been well proof read-not perfect but overall a good job. Poor proofing has become an issue for me recently as it reflects shoddy work. This story was well developed with believable characters in manageable numbers.
I enjoyed the book overall but a couple of things I didn’t like! He called his sister, “Sweetheart” which I found uncomfortable? 😂 the book was great in terms of the story but I wanted more from the main couple and their relationship, felt like half the book they weren’t talking then all of a sudden were engaged??

I am not sure how I feel about this story. At times it was ok, then frustrating, then sweet. I didn't really like her and he was kind of a jerk. Then the ending? Quite unbelievable. The relationship was hardly there for how it ended.
A brother that needed a date at the last minute, for his sister's wedding. He literally falling over a woman that intrigues him, and proves to be so much more. A wedding that goes terribly wrong, but a relationship that starts to blossom. Another excellent read!
This book was really fantastic.Thme story was great &) well written.Lucas & Sasha made the come to life & kept your interest. It is not only a great love story ut points that all families have pr.oblems & have to compromise & work together to solve them.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Lucas and Sasha. They were two people who were meant to be together after all they had been through. I cannot wait to read the next book.
horrible dialogue, clunky as fuck writing, and -- to top it all off -- it's in third person. also, the characters are completely incapable of having any ounce of consistency. they literally do a full on emotional 180 every other sentence. i honestly don't know why i even finished this book.
The beginning held a lot of promise, but it died off around the middle. There were parts where I couldn't work out if the characters were still fighting over poor communication *sigh* or they were kissing suddenly?! It just didn't hit the spot for me.
I felt pulled in too many directions and for the wrong reasons with this one. I felt like I was riding on a pendulum with several of the characters, and it really never came together for me.
