She was forbidden fruit. The sister of a man I respected. I shouldn’t touch her. But I have to. She’s addictive. Even better, she bites. But she’s been through so much, suffered the worst kind of abuse, and even as I want to shield her from the world, I can’t. I’m a Sinner. I bring danger with me wherever I go. Once it taints her, there’s no going back…
INDY
He was forbidden fruit. A brother in the MC that I thought I’d escaped a long time ago. I shouldn’t want him. But I need him. He’s addictive. Even better, he makes me burn. But he’s been through so much, endured the worst kind of betrayal, and even though he’s an enigma to me, I crave him. He makes me want to sin. He’s dangerous. But I’m already tainted. I’ve shed blood, and now there’s no going back…
For the first time in my life, I’m ready to face what happened to me to make a brighter future for myself, but can I do that with a man who’s running from his past?

It took me a few days to get my head together enough to write this letter. Your story is so amazing. Not because of the horrors you went through, but the strength you’ve possessed to get yourself through the painful rain. I call it painful rain because water is supposed to be cleansing. Other than sopping wet, if you walk through a rainstorm, you should be cleaner than when you walked outside. That’s not always true for abuse survivors. You never feel clean. You still feel dirty It’s painful.
It was so brave to start trusting Cruz after you had been hurt. I saw so much of myself through your story, it scared me. Things I was doing which I thought got me through the storm and I only hurt myself worse, not helping at all.
I’ve read stories on abuse from family before and let me just say, this is the first time a story has affected me like this. Having to re-evaluate everything. It’s frustrating and beautiful all at the same time.
You spoke of sex with Cruz and it’s actually the perfect metaphor for your story. “It felt so good. This was how sex should be. A smorgasbord of experiences, pleasure and pain mingling together until knowing where one ended and the other began was impossible to discern.” Well, let me throw your words back at you for what your story did to me. Your story, (this book) was so good. It’s how a beautiful story should be. A smorgasbord of experiences, pleasure and pain mingling together until knowing where you end and the heroine begins is impossible to discern and you don’t want to figure it out.
All I can say is thank you, Indy. Shawn’s Wife
(This book is life changing. It may have triggers for some. If you’re brave enough to walk through the fire, there could be a rainbow at the end of the storm. There was one for me. I’m an abuse survivor and this was amazingly helpful for me. You should take the plunge. I’m forever grateful for this book. It will always hold a special place in my heart.)
Fun Fact: I started this series 5 weeks ago and read one book per week leading up to Cruz last week and I have no clue how any of you just waited around for the next book to be published in this incredibly captivating series! I AM IN DEEP PEOPLE! Each book added and intensified my need for more.
What an incredible story Cruz & Indi made, and the MC’s arc is just as fantastic! Everyone’s story was fantastic! Some were deeper than others but they all rode that edge between dark and gritty that I love so much in my MC romance reads!
This was an emotional story and at some points quite gutting. I'm not gonna lie, I cried quite a bit. They aren’t called the Dark & Dirty Sinners because they love singing in a field of daisies so any warnings you read about, heed them. Seriously. However, the story was pure heart surrounded by hope and it was magnificent!
I love how uninhibited the author is with her prose and her style is perfect for me. She doesn’t flower up the dark and sinister side of life and I appreciate that in my fiction. Yes, I like to escape when I read, but I also expect a level of realism and this author delivered that in all the five books I’ve read to this point. I’m not a paranormal reader so I won’t be reading too many of her book on her backlist but I’ve downloaded her Five Points’ Mob books and will read anything else she publishes in a heartbeat!
OH. MY. GOD. I have loved pretty much all of the books in this series; but this book was so amazing that I need to rethink my other 5 star ratings for the earlier books! It blew the other books out of the water (not that they weren’t great, but this was just something else)!
This book had EVERYTHING: ✅ amazing plot ✅ a hot, sweet, smart, and protective H, who was also a Dom ✅ a kick@ss h ✅ smexy scenes that literally had me 🥵🥵🥵
This series is my new favourite MC Romance, and Cruz & Indy’s book is my favourite out of this series. I will for sure be reading this again in the future!
Firstly be warned there are trigger warnings with this book so approach with caution
So I must admit I was nervous about reading this latest book in the Sinners MC simply because of the trigger warnings. Knowing I have been through similar circumstances I wasn't sure if I could read about them but I adore these books so decided to pull up my big pants and give it a go!! Wow Serena doesn't disappoint she's dealt with the issues sympathetically and written an amazing strong character in Indy. Both her and Cruz have a lot of issues between them but the growing relationship between them is intense but fascinating to read. This book has answered a lot of questions from the other MC books but also raised others which I can't wait to read about in the next book Maverick. On a personal note thank you Serena for the amazing way you've handled this subject, its dealt with delicately but strongly, giving power back to those who had it taken away....
Indy has been someone that I have been curious about. She is Nyx's sister but wants nothing to do with the MC. She is an amazing tattoo artist and appears to be a strong and confident woman. But what is on the surface is not what it appears to be. This book has a trigger warning on it for a reason and if you have been in anyway sexually abused, then I urge caution when reading this book. But, I love how Serena handled what is an absolutely horrific thing. She does it with gentleness and grace while not glossing over what was done to Indy. Cruz is amazing in how he works to get through to Indy that she is not broken because of what was done to her and that she can come out stronger. He lifts her up and balances her in a way that she didn't know that she needed and through his help she is able to become free from the chains of the past. There are so many twists and turns and revelations in this book that I am still processing what I read. I loved this book and these characters and I cannot wait to see what happens next.
This series just gets better and better. I love that Indy found some peace after such a hard life. Cruz is not quite her knight in shining 4armour more like her knight in tarnished armour. He might be bad but hes so good for her. Theres quite a few bombs dropped in this book 😉 I loved every minute of it, its filled with emotions, so much so I may as well cut my heart out with a rusty knife and lay it at Serena Akeroyd's feet! I can't wait to read Mavericks story
Wow! Wow! Wow! Another amazing book in this brilliant series! This book is full of action, intrigue, heartbreak, betrayal, and so, so much more and I loved every single second of it. Indy and Cruz’s love story is tragic, unique, and an all together spectacular read! I love the ongoing storyline that spans throughout the series and leaves you reeling for the next book! I also love the crossover of the Five Points characters, as well as the crossover storylines. I cannot wait to see where the next book leads!
Ok. This books comes with some trigger warnings! But I read it anyways love the story with Cruz and Indy. I love the way it ties in with other books in this series and with the filthy feckers! Indy is strong willed and fabulous on the outside and overcomes her past! I love it when you get to see the characters grow!
First thing's first, the trigger warnings are there for a reason. Heed them and proceed with caution if you have any triggers with sexual abuse or slight BDSM. That said I myself am a survivor of sexusl abuse and Serena handled it very well and showed how a person can come out the other side a stronger and independent individual. Cruz is the fifth book in the Satan’s Sinners series, although we hadn't really known much about Cruz before this we learn a lot about him here. Indy, we have been introduced to her from the beginning finding out she was Nyx's sister when he just showed up for one of his tattoos and her assistant David didn't like it. She was the go to tattooist for all the Sinners when they wanted to brand their old ladies. On the outside you would never had guessed she had been abused as a child, even Nyx never knew, she hid it so well. She had her own ways that she dealt with it. I was able to relate to her coping mechanism in many ways. Cruz was able to determine that something had happened to her when he noticed a few things about her when she was getting Stone's place ready to move into. He determined this all without asking her outright. He waited for her to tell him. When he went to her she brought out a side of him he hid for a long time, BDSM, it seemed to be what Indy needed. Indy being the strong independent woman she was needed Cruz the strong handsome Grim Reaper to take over in the bedroom. They're perfectly matched. Throughout the book though there are so many secrets revealed it blows your mind! We finally find out some things we have been guessing at since book one Nyx, the cross over in several places with the Five Points Gang, especially with the dirty FBI agent and how she has ties to the MC and who she has ties to. Maverick and what his relationship to Loadstar was. How his and Ghosts relationship is affected by the explosion, which now has me drooling for Maverick's book. I honestly expected this book to just pick up where Steel ended, with the explosion, the after effects. Serena Akeroyd surprised me by leading up to the explosion weaving the story with other known characters POV'S, which has always been her style, all the while growing Indy and Cruz's relationship. She wove the stories so seamlessly so that it worked into the stories of the last book, into this one, leaving us wanting more as always! Kudos to Serena for how she handled the story of the sexual abuse and didn't just push it aside as a side storyline, she kept it as a forefront story as Indy went through the process of struggling to find a way to survive with what happened to her, to realize that it wasn't her fault and learned how to open up about her abuse. Well done Serena!
I am unapologetically a fan of the Satan’s Sinners series. As someone who has certain things in common with the female lead, Indiana, this book was by far my favorite. (Nyx is still my favorite Sinner, but Cruz is not a close second). This book deals with a character journey after being sexually abused and raped as a child. It as has a BDSM dynamic. Trigger warning.
Indiana is a complex woman. Yes, she is strong and independent, but beneath that strength and independence lies a woman who is a bit lost. Cruz’s path is also a bit meandering. I love how Serena Akeroyd intertwines her characters from the Filthy Feckers into the story.
The representation of a Dom/Sub dynamic was the closest I have read to a real life dynamic. Cruz’s insistence on aftercare was good to see. There were no negotiations of the relationship depicted; I will let myself believe that part happened outside the narrative of this story.
The ancillary secondary stories continue to be explored with the alternative POVs. I am overly excited to read Ghost and Maverick’s story next. Also, Rex is proving to be a complex and endearing anti-hero. One of my favorite scenes is a conversation he has with Declan from Filthy Dark.
Well I was completely blown away by this book. There are triggers and some mild BDSM in CRUZ but not overboard. The Satan Sinners MC story continues in CRUZ with the attack on their compound and digging to see who is behind the attack. Cruz, the Grim Reaper and Indy, the tattooist! Both are clean, OCD, strong and independent but with each comes a troubled past. They find the comfort and passion that was missing in their lives within each other. Serena did an incredible job with CRUZ. I just love that the same plot & timeline continues throughout each book and ties in the Filthy Feckers as well. Again, the multiple POVs just show how talented Serena is, to continue the series along with prior characters stories and future books to come, like Maverick! She literally leaves you wanting and needing the next book.
Oh my, Serena certainly gave us a lot to unpack in Cruz. Please pay attention to the trigger warning at the beginning, you need to know what you're getting into. That being said, the way Serena handles such delicate content is incredibly respectful.
Cruz was a man that was always in the background for me, and I am so glad that he was able to step into the spotlight! I never expected such an interesting, intelligent, loyal, and determined man. His patience with Indy is nothing short of amazing, and I loved every single thing about him.
Indy is such a fierce woman. So strong, despite her past traumas, and everything from her art to her heart is beautiful.
The overarching story is really ramped up in this one. You finally start getting some answers, and the result is slightly overwhelming. I fear for my Satan's Sinners and my Filthy Feckers, if I'm honest. I have no doubt Serena's got some awesome things up her sleeves for Maverick, which looks to be another heart wrenching ride. I'm so here for it!
Satan's Sinners brother, but one of the lesser known brothers. Cruz is not a member we know really anything about or have heard much about. He doesn't sit on the council.
What we do know is that Indy is Nyx's sister so this should provide for some angst and comedy at the same time.
Triggers. Please if you have them please go into this book knowing that it touches on things that could trigger you.
The relationship between Cruz and Indy is different but no less important or hot. Cruz is the type of man a lot of us want and need, he easily took over the #2 spot for my favorite Satan Sinner's only to be topped by Nyx. He almost over took Nyx, it was that close.
Read this book and fall in love all over again with the Satan's Sinners.
This book was awesome! It got me in all the feels. I laughed and cried and was angry. Indy and Cruz aren't the most obvious couple in the series but after their initial encounter in the book they get off like a rocket! Cruz replaced Link as my favorite brother. I can't wait for the next book to drop! Well done again.
Serena Akeroyd is a genius! The way she has tied all these stories together without taking away from the individual stories is insane. So many revelations in this book, I am now in a book coma until Maverick. Cruz is my new favorite sinner! & If you haven't, go read the Filthy Feckers series, you won't be disappointed. (HEED THE TRIGGER WARNINGS).
Excusez-moi, but I was the least excited for this book. I wanted to read Mav and Ghost. BISH. How freaking wrong was I?!? CRUZ IS MY FAV. INDY IS MY FAV. Link and Lily have sunk to second place. WOW. The intense chemistry. The angst. The pain. The kink. WOW. Each book gets better and better! There are so many twists everywhere! I hope we get closure on T. - if she did what she did, I wanna know more of her way of thought. Other than that, MY FAV COUPLES GOT THEIR HEAS IN THIS BOOK AND WELP, I AM EMOTIONAL
Indy has grown up around the MC, but has spent her life trying to maintain some distance from it. She spends her days tattooing, cleaning and worrying about her brothers. One of whom is Nyx. Indy has been keeping a worrying secret from Nyx. Cruz is exactly what Indy doesn't want. He's deep in the MC life and he knows where the bodies are burried. Indy is a puzzle to him, a puzzle he wants to solve. First things first, this book has a major trigger warning. Normally I don't reveal things like this is in my reviews but if you've read the previous books in the series you probably know what it is. It deals with childhood sexual trauma. I think the author has dealt with it in a sensitive and appropriate manner and it fits in the story. If you were hoping for an immediate resolution to the cliff hanger from the previous book, you won't get it at the start as this book has some cross over with the previous. Though hang in there, answers are coming. This book explores more of a BDSM element than any of the previous books in the series. As always, Serena gives us glimpses and snippets into other characters, new and old. I was very happy to see my old favourites get an update and also see some set up for the next few stories. I know the next one is going to be amazing. Another great book in a great series, sometimes long series can lose momentum or tension, not this one!
Wow this series just keeps getting better and better. This book left me speechless. I can't put into words how much i loved it. It was amazing. I loved cruz and indy so much. Another amazing five stars and i can't wait for more.

A tremor whispered through my nerve endings, making them respond like his hands had caressed every inch of me, drawing me into wakefulness when I'd been asleep for a thousand years.
Indy
Dive into the story of Indy and Cruz in the latest installment of the Dark and Dirty Sinners’ MC Series : Cruz - from Amazon All Star Author Serena Akeroyd.
Ahhh! I am so obsessed with Serena Ackeroyd and everything she writes!! I absolutely love her Dark and Dirty Sinners MC series and can't get enough of every one of the brothers. Cruz was absolutely amazinggg!! He and Indy had an amazing combustible chemistry. I am SO OBSESSED with them it isn't even funny!! This story was absolutely amazing!!
I didn't know much about Cruz before this book but have had a girl crush on Indy since the first book in the series. She is tough, assertive and a warrior. But no one would know the pain she was hiding behind her fierce exterior. This story was so emotional and hit me right in the feels!
All in all this story was sexy, edgy and another winner! I love this series and can't wait for more! 4 stars! ~Ratula
I have never read and book and turned right around and read it agin. This book will bring you to your knees. Indy is a fabulous woman. So strong and yet so caring. Cruz was her vice. The MC comes first. Excellent writing.
~~~~~~~~~~Tracy's ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Review~~~~~~~~~~
Indy I love her so much, she has her faults but she is a strong woman who knows better than to get involved with MC brother. She loves her brother but being involved in the MC is not in her future, that is until she meets Cruz and he is set to change her mind. Loved this story and this series so freaking much.
Another explosive story in the Dark and Dirty Sinners MC. This series just keeps giving us the readers one hell of ride. Each story can be read as a stand alone but personnel I would suggest you read all the books. This MC has become it's own mini series you know the ones you watch on TV where you can't wait a week for the next episode? well this is what Serena Akeroyd has created.
Within each story you still have a chapter or two dedicated to the other men and women of the Dirty Sinners and for me this is what makes this series quite unique. If you read the last story you know how it ended - so not to give anything away I won't say what happened. But if you have read it Cruz and Indy's story starts a couple of months before. Cruz is known as the Grime Reaper because what he does for the club and Indy has been a biker girl all her live she owns a successful tattoo parlour and tries to keep herself outside of the club. Abused by a family member years ago (something she has never told her brother) Indy lives with the nightmares and deals with it in her own way. Indy is a survivor but she is so much more than that and Ms Akeroyd has done a really great job with articulating this piece of the story; Indy is fighter she never gave up!
Cruz used to be a DOM but he left that life style many years ago but when by accident he not once but twice get's a glimpse at the inner Indy his DOM wants to come out and he knows that Indy needs to give over control in the bedroom to final be given the ultimate power!
Loyalties are tested trust is pushed to limits and death is all around and as more storm clouds gather around the club from both inside and out can Cruz and Indy whether the storm as once again brothers lives are put at risk and more secrets are revealed.
Be warned this book has a trigger warning for a reason. It tackles some topics that will be hard for some folks to read. Indy (FMC) Nyx's sister and tattooist has a hard shell built up from the abuse she suffered as a child. One she uses to protect herself. A barrier that makes her cautious to opening up and trusting people. More so with men. Cruz seems to see through all of her facade to the both fragile and strong woman underneath it all. He has his own maybe unconventional way of doing that. By breaking down her walls with a little spanking amongst others things. Like attracts like with Indy and Cruz where they both seem to understand each other with all that they've been through.
As with all the Sinner MC books dark topics are wrapped around a core of love, trust and family. This book is no different
So much happens in this book as well as Indy and Cruz's story that I dont know where to start but I won't give away any spoilers anyway. Only to say Lily and Link............awwwww those two are just too sweet together even when im sure they're not suppose to be but my heart went out to Ghost. That poor woman has definitely had a hard time in these books. I'm dying to get my hands on her and Mav's book to see what happens to them now. This book was a cracking read and that ending was knockout!!!
Wow just wow. Revelations and more revelations. The club has hidden problems. The return of a ghost brings more problems, unknown enemies. The reader has no downtime just more surprises.
Indy and Cruz may seem the least likely to be together. Neither thought it would happen. She was his dangerous club brother's sister. Most men wouldn't consider touching her. Cruz couldn't help himself. Her needs were different and ones he recognized. Few saw beneath the facade that was Cruz. His intelligence he hid behind his duties. Peeling away the layers gave insight and made him even more appealing. The steam is unsurpassed. They found each other but the problems and enemies of the club could keep them apart. Would they ever come out to the club? Would they have a future?
I guarantee this book will keep you reading and wanting more. Reviewed for Words Turn Me On
I have never read and book and turned right around and read it agin. This book will bring you to your knees. Indy is a fabulous woman. So strong and yet so caring. Cruz was her vice. The MC comes first. Excellent writing.
Cruz is the 5th book in the Sinner's MC realm by Serena Akeroyd. Cruz and Indy may well be my favorite couple, because there are parts of them that anyone can relate to. Cruz had a happy childhood, went to college, majored in structural engineering (our own mixture of bad boy and genius) and then chemical engineering (and you wonder why he's the Grim Reaper, making chemical mixtures in the bathroom), but he even struggles in his youth. A loner from a divorced home, he yearns for the family that he would eventually find with the Sinners, but only after making "explosive" mistakes before.
Indy may seem to have freedom, a lot more than the other MC women do. She isn't entrenched in the club, she has her own business, and she makes her own money. But even Indy says that all her life, she'd thought only about other people. She said, "I'd protect them over me. Think about their reaction to something that happened to me." And that says much about Indy's character. She may feel absolutely broken over her past, but she even puts that aside so that Nyx doesn't slip further into his own darkness, so that others don't feel pity/awkward around her. Only when she meets Cruz does she feel true liberation, and she didn't even have to say much. He sees inside her soul, he recognizes in the darkness a kindred spirit, and they make each other better. The physical scars of their past may heal, can be covered up with tattoos, but the emotional scars left in the aftermath lingers, compounding their individual insecurities and driving their actions. Indy covers her scars with an promiscious sex life, a rough exterior, hiding her secrets from others. Cruz cleans up other people's blood, ever aware of the blood on his own hands that can't be cleaned. Their connection and relationship gives them both the courage to face their past and to shape a future where they are not victims of others' malicious intent, but one where they will support each other through the hard past and tough decisions.
"I was a wretched mess, my soul twisted and warped. It was selfish of me, but I couldn't deal with somebody normal. I needed someone as wretched as me. Together, two negatives could make a positive."
Serena Akeroyd developed such dynamic characters in Indy and Cruz. Like the tattoo of the phoenix on Indy's shoulder, their relationship leads to shedding of their secrets that's haunted them for so long, and a rebirth of a new relationship. I also love how the author weaves in other characters from her other universe (Filthy Feckers, love!) and am so excited to see all these connections. Cannot wait to read more of Maverick (and hopefully Rex).
So many questions answered with so many new ones added!
I have loved all the Sinners and have been dying to find out bout others that we have seen bits about. Cruz I wanted to read solely to find out more bout Indy really but once I started I knew that it was more than that.
Cruz also had such a complicated story and his life was one that might not have been the worst. Especially when we go into the book that Indy was abused as a child. However, there was still plenty of lessons to be learned along the way and I'm pleased they found each other.
The world created and entwined with other books in Serena's universe is so well done. I love the complex characters with the breadcrumbs to what's going to happen in the series later. It keeps you guessing and wanting more.
I have never been more greatful for an author being so quick at writing and releasing books until this year. I cannot wait for more! Explosive book with an ending that means I will be counting down the days (and minutes) for Maverick to be released in November.
I highly recommend to those who enjoy MC romance along with the others in the series if you haven't read them yet. There is big warning with this one due to Indy's history so may not be for everyone. Think about that before reading as although I found well written it can be upsetting and difficult read.
***Trigger Warnings*** With that being said, this book delivers sweet justice. Serena is an amazing author that has left me feeling like I am not alone, I am a survivor and I am more than my past.
Indiana or Indy as you will get to know her as, is a beautiful, strong, kick ass woman. She is independent, talented, hardworking and will give her all for those she loves. She stands for every little girl, teen and woman who has ever been assaulted. She has kept her secret to herself so that her brother (Nyx) didnt have any more deamons to suffer. She also tends to attract stalkers and hires them.
Coming into this we dont know much about Cruz, he is brought up in the previous books but just mentions of him. So we really get to learn all about our hero in his story.
Cruz is an Alpha male! He is what every woman dreams about but most couldnt handle. Cruz is fighting his own deamons and has to come to terms with, a past he has to forgive himself for.
When you put these two together you get one of the most epic love stories for the ages! You will learn it is okay to forgive, it is okay to share your pain, your loved ones are stronger than you give them credit for. And sometimes your secrets are someone else's salvation. This is a powerful story, for it is much much more than your average love story.
P.s. if you have read this far I will tell you a little secret. You will find out who saved Guilia in Cruz!
Serena has done it once again! This story between Indy and Cruz is so well written. Their dynamics between one another unravel beautifully. This has to be my all time favorite story throughout all the books, and that's saying a lot because hands down I’ve been all team Nyx.
I would pay attention to the trigger warning if you are unable to handle some things like sexual abuse or bdsm. This book really brings to light the dark issues of child sexual abuse and how people cope and deal. You will go on a rollercoaster ride of emotions which is completely worth it.
Indy has gone through hell and back to become who she is. Watching her come out of her shell and thrive with Cruz is everything. She was so well written I couldn’t help but fall more in love with her as we learn who she truly is. Cruz was an amazing man to read about. Definitely swoon worthy.
With Cruz being a part of the MC we get to see the next set of events that the men and club we’ve grown to love must now face. The fight isn’t over yet. This book brought it all. So many questions answered and so many left to be answered. I will be waiting on the edge of my seat for the next one.
