This how-to book provides examples, definitions, and lessons on how to write several poetry forms. Some forms are the acrostic, alphabet, cinquain, haiku, occasional, sestina, and sonnets.

I really like how the book gives the layout for the poem and examples. It then gives you a "try it" page that you can use to practice on.

I worked with this workbook when I was homeschooled; this was one of my favorite books to work with. A very basic approach that allows children to express themselves in a creative way on their own terms.
