Cryptid Assassin #7

Learn to Live

Niki Banks and her team from the DOD need Taylor's help, but he isn't at home. He is in New Orleans with her cousin, which has Niki more than a little curious. She needs to stop a potentially catastrophic release of cryptids into the Louisiana biome. But will Taylor be in jail by the time she arrives? If he isn't in jail, will he have committed yet another major heist to get even with those who have attacked him? Taylor and Niki need to stop dancing around their attraction. At least, if anyone in Taylor's group has a say in the matter. Back in Vegas, certain individuals want Taylor to come and have a talk. But he's "out of town." Unfortunately, they treated Taylor's employees disrespectfully. Will they come along quietly, or will Taylor be pushed into a fight he doesn't want? If he decides he wants the fight, will Niki be ok with it? For Taylor McFadden, life is full of dangerous complications. The rest of his problems have to do with alien monsters wanting to eat him. Wow, this story is really winding itself up tight now.

We have Niki doing her best to protect everyone from the Cryptid Monsters that are starting to appear, far too regularly, within the US - and die to Corporate greed - and then there's Taylor!

Now, he is just trying to do his best to kill said Monsters, while also trying to navigate his way around his employees, who are also his friends, but who feel more like family than his own had ever been.

Then, there's all this stuff he's feeling for Niki, that he just doesn't understand, but knows he has to keep exploring.

Alongside this, there's the fight that he's preparing for - and which he knows he'll have to tell Niki about - and sooner, rather than later!

All of this, while dealing with all of the other layers of complexity that are his life!

I really loved this book.

There are so many things happening to, with, and for, all of the characters involved within this series - and it feels like it's building up, to the point where everything is going to change for them all!

Knowing that there are only eight books in this series, obviously, means that the last book: Monster in Me, will be an extra awesome read, so I'm just going to finish this review: 'I absolutely LOVED this book, so go buy the whole series and read it, 'cos you won't regret it!'

There! Mission accomplished! Lol

So, I'll catch you on the flip side of book eight, and I'll let you know if it's as great, or even better, than this one was!

A mix of Cryptid & humans to deal with

As we’ve seen in previous books, Spears had a prescient approach to reality when he hired Nicki Banks. The number of fools who have zero understanding about the extreme danger posed by their Goop experimentation is consistently growing despite the various labs that need to be eradicated rather than just cleaned becoming the norm.

Along with their work in eradicating the Zoo type of mutants Taylor is first digging into the group who tried to steal their suits. After this he is induced to perform a rescue by Rod Marino that of course expands into a bigger effort than he expected…

Love them

I waited until I finished the latest book in this series to leave a review. Looking back to all of them together, they are amazing! I am glad I was able to read them one after the other as they are kind of cliffhangers which frustrates me to no end. So if your looking for HEA in each one, you won't find it. That being said, the romantic relationships is slow, but good in the way they are being developed. How I have the frustration and anticipation of having to wait for the next one in this series.. I highly recommend this series!

Really fun characters

The characters in this series are really fun. I have enjoyed every book so far and I really like how the story and universe expands and progresses in each book. It is too bad they couldn’t keep a cat, but it probably wouldn’t have ended well if they did. Unlike Thor in the other series in the zoo universe, I am sure the cats would be much harder. I recommend this series.

Another Great Installment

The book has plenty of the action that is present in the series. Taylor gets advice from pretty much all the recurring characters (but Nikki, Maxwell, Jansen, and Spaere) about developing his relationship with Nikki.

Eagerly awaiting the last book in the series.

Ok, I waited as long as I could

I just read the whole thing and I still have questions about Nikki and Taylor. How long are they going to pretend they aren’t going to be together? Now we have to wait and see what develops in the next book. Not to mention the fight against the mobsters. Anyway it’s a good read.

Enjoyed this one too

I liked this book. The hard core cryptid killing action was a little different/less than the last few books. The characters were still there and I still enjoy rooting for them. Story was still good. Sniff, sniff, on to the last one (at this time anyway).

Another Hit

More good reading again and also you can feel the story arc coming towards an end which is a bit sad but perhaps exciting in that we can move to another chapter.
Either way the next looks very interesting

Excellent book

This is another excellent story in this series and now there is only one more book in this series. Oh no say it ain’t so. McFaddin Merc’s will be missed.

Action really picked up in this book after falling off in the last couple. Made you feel the tension and stress of extreme combat. Looking forward to the next book.

Great Series

First this is another great series by Anderle! The characters are well developed, have excellent interactions with each other, the stories are tight and we'll written, and you will keep turning the pages long into the night! Strongly recommend this series!
