I tried, I really did, but I just cannot like Holly Ann. At all.
Also, the "big secret" she was hiding felt overdone and Ace's reactions felt unbelievable and inflated. Was basically just skimming this by the end so I could see what was going on with the other characters.
Great to be back at Shiloh Ridge Ranch! Ace is the middle child of the Bull Glover family. He has always felt like the glue that holds the older brothers and the younger sisters together. He has been dating Holly Ann for a while when she tries to put their relationship on hold, because she will be very busy with the Christmas Festival, he says no—they can make things work. But Ace senses that there is something she is not telling him. Ace does not like secrets and it seems like everyone in the family has asked him to keep a secret and then when he discovers Holly Ann’s secret he breaks up with her, goes ballistic and tells all he knows at a family gathering. He explains that he can’t handle secrets and that they will destroy the family. Can he make his way back into the family fold? Can he and Holly Ann reconcile? You will love the Glover family and all the extended family and friends in Three Rivers. Once again you will feel the love and commitment between family members. They are each unique and have differences but in the end they always love each other. This is a great series with older main characters that have history. Don’t miss this new clean, inspirational romance from Liz Isaacson!

We see more of the Christmas activities of Three Rivers and how open hearted the Glover family is to everyone.
Let me begin with this quick warning, this book is best understood if you’ve read the ones before it in the series. It also doesn’t hurt to have read the other series that the author has that are set in the Three Rivers area. I thought it was very handy to have the cheat sheet of Who’s Who to start the book. It was a good reminder since it’s been a while since I last visited the Shiloh Ridge Ranch. My heart went out to Ace in this story. I could feel how he was caught in the middle and stuck with so many secrets he didn’t want to hold. I liked Holly Ann, but I’m not sure she would have been my choice to match with Ace. They had good chemistry, yet their problems sometimes felt insurmountable. One of the things I enjoy about this series (and most every other series the author has written) is that we get to check back in with the previous couples to see how their lives have been progressing. And now that we’ve done that, I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us next. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author.
Is Holly Ann's Secret, One Too many Secrets, for Ace To Keep?

What happens to Ace and Holly Ann's 💗, when life's stress overwhelms them at Christmas? How does God bring them to their Forever 💞? I Highly Recommend You Read this Wonderfully Engrossing, Christian Western Romance, to find the Answers! ❤️📖 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Another wonderful book! I’m so glad I have read the other Three Rivers series. I love how she brings those characters in to this series. I feel so attached to her characters. They have real emotions and events that happen.
This is the first book in the Shiloh Ridge series I have read and was confused at times by the large Glover family, their history and their names . I did appreciate the cheat sheet about the family and the other families from Three Rivers that they interact with. I immediately fell in love with this large, complicated family and the Christmas festivities in Three Rivers. This particular story focused mostly on Ace Glover and Holly Ann Broadbent's relationship. She is the chairman of the Christmas Festival, claiming she'll be too busy she wants to end her relationship with Ace. She also has a secret that consumes her time that she doesn't share with Ace. Holly Ann frustrated me at times, Ace is a sweet, caring man who reaches out to her for support from the burden of family secrets that have been "bestowed" upon him. An enjoyable, clean romance that portrays imperfect people in a forgiving, love conquers all light. I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have voluntarily given my honest opinion in this review- I look forward to reading the rest of the series.
Quick read! Love the no spice element to Liz's books. No worries if the seven year old decides to read a book left open on the sofa.
The family story followed in this series is just a heart warming touch. While I would love to see more real life struggle and not always portraying the main characters as billionaires the series does tap into a number of emotional and spiritual trials that we all face day to day. No stigma of asking for help when dealing with hard subjects such as loss and fitting in the fa!Ily dynamic. Love the reverence and love for family who have passed and the portrayal of a community coming together to support one another in the hard times. Addressing the passing of a parent can be a mine field but Liz takes it there and I have soaked a few tissues so far and will for sure keep them close for the future books.
I listen to these books while I work, while I drive, or as I'm winding down my day. Great series to get lost in.
This is a clean love story and so much more. I can seem to get enough and just keep reading the next one in the series. These books revolve around the lives and loves of the Glover family. It has such character development with a couple of main characters in each story but the secondary characters are numerous and play vital roles. The plot is unique and and the challenges to the relationships feels real. I found it easy to become immersed in this story. Not wanting to put it down. I’m thrilled that it is a series because I definitely want more. But it is really not a standalone. These stories build on each other and should really be read in order. I think it would be confusing and off putting to jump around. They build one upon the next including all members of the family. The story line is rich and you can picture the ranch and town easily with all the details. This is a clean Christian romance with some kissing but in my opinion would be suitable for all ages.
I liked that there was a cheat sheet in the front of this book. With all of the Glovers, and some of the Walkers being mentioned, it was definitely needed.
I am not sure if this book was meant to be a standalone. I think it could be read as one, but I believe it would be too confusing. One thing about the Glovers (9 in total, I believe, between the siblings and cousins) was that there were so many subplots involving family that I often find it hard to keep up.
This book was mostly about Ace and Holly Ann. I thought her secret was kind of silly to keep when it was causing trouble in her relationship. I mostly thought it was silly because she never thought to talk to her father about making a change, and the secret was kept from someone else important in her life, other than Ace.
I do like the faith based aspect of this book. I feel like the family's faith is recognized. They are open in their beliefs, and the attitude seems to be that someone is open to share in their faith. It also seems to be that our relationship, be it friendly or romantic, is not contingent on where or not someone else has the same faith, or level of faith.
Trying to keep up with Cactus, Willa, Preacher, Judge, Mister, Ida, Etta, Ranger, Oakley, etc., all at the same time can be overwhelming. They all have some very specific issue they are trying to get a handle on and have a relationship at the same time.
There was a lot to this book, but it was an entertaining read. It had moments of being sweet, romantic, and even a little sad. It does end with Ace and Holly Ann getting their HEA. I am looking forward to more of Cactus' story, and what we will find out about Mister, Preacher, and Judge.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book received from the author.
They are loud, and messy, but Glover's love with their whole heart!
Another great visit to the Glovers and Shiloh Ridge Ranch, this crazy family welcome you with open arms into the chaos that is their lives. Ace and Holly Ann have fantastic chemistry but both doubt themselves, Ace because he feels that he is sometimes lost in amongst all his family members and Holly Ann as she worries about being too much like her mum and having gypsy wanderings. The only way they will be able to make it work is if they are honest with each other all of the time....but can Holly Ann share all her secrets? Are they even hers to share? The Glovers have a way of sucking you into their lives and the rest of the outside world disappears until you reach the final page. I got an advence copy of this via Bookfunnel, all opinions here are my own.
Was one more secret just one too many for Ace this holiday season? I love this series and all of the family members involved and I really felt for Ace. The poor guy doesn't like anyone keeping secrets and here he was being asked to keep a number of them for different family members when he finds out that the woman he has been dating for a while now has a secret that she has been keeping too. It turns out to be one secret too many and he can't take it anymore, breaks things off with Holly Ann, and reveals all at a family confab. Now he is on the outs with everyone and needs to fix things fast. This was a lovely story featuring secrets, of course, family and most of all the forgiveness that comes with the love found within that family. And a HEA too! A beautiful continuation of the Glover family stories!
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.
Ace and Holly Ann have been on again and off again for quite some time. They were on again when the Christmas celebrations when Holly Ann is chosen as the Chair person of the events. She again tells Ace the need to take a break but he doesn't want to stop seeing her no matter the amount of time they might have together. Everything is going so well between them when Ace knows something is off and finds out Holly Ann lied by omission. Ace hates lies from anyone and tell Holly Ann they need a break and goes silent. Will Holly Ann be able to break her code of silence and get Ace back or is this the final break-up? Can Ace wake up in time to understand why Holly Ann was keeping her secret from him and get back together with the only only woman that matters to him?

The Secret of Santa is book 4 in the Shiloh Ranch in Three Rivers series by Liz Isaacson about the Glover family. Love this family!
Next is Ace Glover and Holly Broadbent who have been dating for sometime and now that it’s getting closer to Christmas and Holly’s been named chairperson for Christmas Festival she tries to break up with him saying she will be to busy...but she has another secret she can not let him find out..
Ace is going to fight for her and the relationship but as time goes on he feels like she is telling him half truths but he discovers her secrets...can he trust her, will he confront her, will he let it go or will it destroy their relationship? Only time will tell...
Ace is ready to get serious with Holly Ann but she is forever putting him off. Things aren’t adding up right with what she is telling him and what she is doing. He doesn’t know that she is keeping a big family secret. She loves Ace but she can’t tell him. Can he hang on? Another well written story in this family saga. So many brothers and cousins live on the huge ranch, some with their own families. They are each in charge in running this large homestead according to their individual strengths. I really like the support they give each other during difficult times and share in the joy of happy occasions. Liz never disappoints. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book
Love this Glover family! So much happens within the walls of these books and they love intensely, argue and make up intensely. I was reading along, minding my own business, and WHAM!!!! Squire Ackerman and his family are mentioned and I was NOT prepared for it!!! So even if you know the author does this it still catches you by surprise.
Holly Ann and Ace struggle through the holiday season and Holly's secret starts to become a huge hindrance. When Ace is over loaded with family secrets he explodes and reveals all to his family.
Cactus and Willa find they like each other and things get crazy when Willa gets a bad phone call and things are halted as she takes off.
An enjoyable read, but I truly became confused at times (even with the cheat sheet in the beginning of who's who) with so many Glovers, Walkers, etc., and with such unusual names. With several family stories going on at the same time, I was eventually able to figure most of it out, but it did slow down the story for me. Lots of secrets--not just Santa's--and it all goes awry when Ace figures he can't hold another secret. I enjoyed that that honesty brings the family together, and healing begins. This is the first book in this series that I've read, and I would suggest possibly starting with book #1 for a clearer understanding of who, what, where and when. I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have voluntarily given my honest opinion in this review.
The Glovers are a great series, and Ace and Holly Ann do not disappoint! She is hiding a major secret, she should have told him, but she did not! He has suspicions and added to his own baggage from his family, well it causes major havoc in their relationship. there ARE subplots with other characters in this book, and I for one LOVED them!! People from other of this author's series also show up, BUT this is a book you could read alone as she weaves the characters together in such a way you wont miss a beat.. It is clean, well explained and excellent, but honestly get the whole series, it is wonderful and I can't wait for the next!! GREAT work!!
Another wonderful book of the Glover Family. The family is so large that each book has multiple things going on and it is sometimes hard to keep track! I love this series, and don't want it to end for a long time! The main focus in this book is on Ace and his girlfriend Holly Ann. With most of the family hiding secrets from the others it makes for some upsets in the family. Christmas is a wonderful time for this family to iron out their problems. I hope you enjoy it!
(I was given an arc copy through bookfunnel. This review is my own opinion.)
Ace and Holly Ann went out previously but when she started her new bakery, Three Cakes, she broke up with him as she was going to be too busy. Then they started going out again but she took on the chair of the Christmas Festival and tried to break up with him again, but he wouldn't accept it, which was fine as they fitted their schedules around each other, until Holly has a huge secret and can't/won't tell Ace, he hates secrets, the whole family are always telling him things and he doesn't want to know them or keep them.
I loved this story. I wanted to yell at Holly Ann at time but also at Ace. Secrets, lies, and half truths can ruin a relationship and Ace and Holly Ann learn that the hard way. Their struggles to keep secrets, whether from each other or their family is taking a toll on them both. Will they be able to keep the secrets they hold and save their relationship or will all the secrets come out and ruin their relationship. Can they come back from keeping secrets, lies, and half truths and realize they love each other or will they walk away from each other for good?
Holly Ann is the chairperson for the Christmas festival and has a catering business. She si busy and keeps having emergencies she has to tend to. She also has a secret. Not even her sister knows it. Ace is a fun loving cowboy but is getting aggravated as Holly keeps trying to break up with him. He really likes her and wants to get to know her better. His family has secrets he finds out about and they tell him to keep the secret. He is getting frustrated keeping secrets and when he finds out Holly has a secret he explodes and spills the beans. But, it all works out in the end.
Liz Isaacson knows how to draw the reader right into the loud, Glover family and make you present at every feast, every celebration, every announcement; even the heartbreak of a seemingly small secret turned huge betrayal.
In my reader's captivity, I've become a friend of the Glovers, sipping coffee and sitting at long tables filled with plates from the labors of Etta, Ida & Bishop for the loud and loving Glover clan and their invited guests.
The anticipation of another wedding waits for this captivated fan!
This is a beautiful story, showing how keeping secrets is difficult for everyone. Holly Ann has been Santa for Three Rivers and doesn’t want anyone to know. But as the relationship with Ace and Holly Ann gets closer, there is something she can’t hide from someone who loves her so much. But then Ace feels like she has been lying which makes him feel like he must escape. All the family is involved in this book, they are all in each other’s business, but it is all done with great love, and sometimes great arguments but in the end they all forgive and show love for each other.
I enjoyed this book. I enjoyed the other stories you get of other family members too. I love that Holly is Santa. I enjoyed getting to know Holly' s family. I really like Ace and I liked getting to know him better. This was a good eye opener of what it takes to keep so many secrets and how that can wear on you after awhile. Plus some secrets are better shared and we found that out. I can't wait to read about the others and to get to know their stories.
I love Liz Isaacson’s Glover family. Like any family with 12 siblings and cousins living in close proximity and working together, there are a few quirks and misunderstandings, some of long standing, but the family ties are strong. Add in the stress of dating, almost old-fashioned courtship, and past relationships, you have a family that anyone would love to be a part of. I love this family and look forward to the next chapter.
I had an Advance Readers Copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Another great book by Liz Isaacson. In this one Ace is asked to keep secrets by family members and when he finds his girlfriend has been keeping a secret from him he spills all. Forgiveness and putting down roots are both themes in this book. I’m really enjoying all the various family members in this series and their individual quirks. This series is a must read.
Holly Ann is in charge of the Christmas festival. She has to continually break dates with Ace. Holly Ann has a secret and she thinks it will be the end of their relationship.
I love that not only do we get Ace and Holly Ann’s story, but there are updates on the rest of the Glover family. This is a wonderful series of a large family and the love they have for each other.
I can’t wait for the next book.
I was given this advanced copy for free, and am voluntarily leaving this review.
Another great book in this series of Shiloh Ridge Ranch. Ace Glover was in love with Holly Anne who was a caterer in Three Rivers and he told everyone about her and her business. Ace did not like secrets or telly lies to anyone or keeping things from anyone. This story tells of how lies and half truths interfere with family and family happiness. This is my review and mine alone.Norma Gorrill
She was the Santa Claus for the City’s Christmas Festival, but nobody could know who Santa was. Ace wanted to spend time with her and get to know her, but she always had an excuse, and kept slipping away from him, making him feel that she was lying to him. When he discovers the truth he breaks up with her. Can he forgive her when he finds out why?
