Alexis and Colt get married in order to help each other's music careers. But what starts out as a simple arrangement soon becomes far more complicated when real feelings get involved . . .
"If your agent really wants to rehab your reputation, having a steady relationship seems like a good way to accomplish that.”
“Right. Yeah. That’s true. But those kinds of things are organized when the pairing helps both people or the less desirable person’s team calls in a favor. No one owes my team that big of a favor, and I’d only bring someone down. So . . .” I shrug, trailing off while he fills in the blanks.
“What if you could find someone to go with you to everything? Would you want that?”
I jerk in surprise. “I mean, I wouldn’t be opposed to it, as long as the guy in question weren’t terrible. I don’t want to be shackled to a jerk for six months or a year.” I force out a laugh. “Why? Do you know someone who’d be willing to help me out like that?”
When he meets my eyes, his are clear and steady. “Yeah. Me.”

Colt has grown weary of watching everyone around him achieve their dreams while his musical dreams remain on hold as he works as his brother’s PA. He suggests a mutually beneficial arrangement to Alexis that will relaunch both their careers.
After the PR nightmare that commenced when her band dissolved all Alexis wants to do is pursue a career on her own however she is finding that more difficult than she anticipated. Pretending to be together may solve their professional woes but will it replace them with personal woes?
I enjoyed the evolution of both Colt and Alexis’s characters as they realize that they need to take responsibility for their choices, both past and present, and realize that they make the perfect partners both personally and professionally.
I have been around since the Songs and Sonatas series started. It is hard to believe that it is book 8. There is something about all of these characters that make them special. I think that it comes from the fact that this author is extraordinary in what she does, and in the case of this series, it is creating characters that people, like myself, can relate to. Even though I don't live a musician lifestyle, I can relate to the characters wanting to succeed in making the dreams come true. I can connect to their love of music and how it feeds their soul.
I loved watching Colt and Alexis traverse a fake to a real relationship. It was enjoyable to see these characters come together and slowly realize that their feelings for each other had shifted along the way and turned into more. This trope has been done a lot but it felt fresh and new with this author's expertise. I cannot recommend this series and this book enough.
Alexis and Colt's story is a relationship of convenience. This type of trope can be a tricky one and can fail spectacularly if not done well. The Arrangement by Jerica MacMillan is an example of a well done marriage of convenience trope! I could not put this book down!!!! It was so fun to revisit the Brasher brothers and to watch Colt get his happily ever after in love and career. Well done, Jerica! This was a very enjoyable book!
I haven’t read any of the other related books, and didn’t realize this was eighth in a series until about halfway through. But I wasn’t lost. At times it felt like something was missing but I can’t tell precisely what. It did get a bit technical with the industry stuff, while I would have expected more detail about the music. Always tickles me when books about songwriters don’t include a single song. But I really liked the two characters, despite that something missing. Maybe it’ll come to me later. It could be that this is the last brother to get his story told and the well was running dry or the author didn’t like him as well. I don’t know. The freebie extra chapter from the author’s website - always a treat when that happens - described Alexis as Colt’s “girlfriend” when she’s clearly his wife. Stuff like that kept this from being a four. But it’s close.
The Arrangement By Jerica MacMillan Main Characters: Colt and Alexis I voluntarily and honestly reviewed this book without bias or persuasion from the author. 5 out of 5 stars Colt was the lead singer in a boy band that broke up and his brothers went solo. He now works as his brother's PA but is always trying to get his career back as a singer. Alexis was in a band that broke up because of an accident and she would like to get her career back also. These two meet and agree to try to help each other get the careers back on a good path. Colt is the youngest of the Brasher boys and this was a great story with a HEA ending. Loved it and highly recommend it.
This started out feeling very mercenary for lack of a better term. Alexis and Colt were all about getting ahead and didn't seem to care at all about the seriousness of what they were doing. BUT it ended up being a sweet little love story even if Colt was kind of an idiot about things.

3.75/5 This book was so fun! I loved the dynamic of two musical artists trying their best to fix their images. I'm a fan of marriage of conveniences anyway but this one was well done!
It was fun and entertaining as a quick little romance day.
I enjoyed this book especially since we get to see all three brothers again and who doesn’t enjoy a good arranged relationship trope?! Colt is the youngest of his family and is struggling to find his place, he wants to be at the top again in singing but for now he is stuck being his brother’s PA. Colt was a little bit of whiner at first blaming all his problems on his family especially since his brother’s wouldn’t help him get a foot in the industry again. So, when he stumbles upon Alexis at first, he saw a beautiful woman he wanted to hit on but suddenly realized she was not having it. Alexis is struggling in life too, trying to get away from the stigma her previous band had because of bad things that happened, she has no time for guys, so she tries to blow Colt off. These two were both hard to deal with at first because I felt Colt blamed others too much and Alexis came off as a snobbish woman trying to do everything to get back on top. I wasn’t really sure if I would end up liking them together or being able to tolerate them, but the more I read the more we get to see the true hearts that lie underneath their exteriors they portray. Through a sham of a marriage these two find that their attraction is too string to fight, but they try hard. I wished Alexis weren’t so adamant on listening to her manager so much because she didn’t always have her best interest in heart and I still can’t stand the Brasher’s mother. Overall, this book was a fun and sweet read it just took me a little bit to get into it but I’m glad I did because I learned to love Colt and Alexis, also not to be quick to judge.
A marriage of convenience never works out, one or the other (sometimes both) wind up having real feelings. When the convenience starts feeling real, Alexis and Colt have to decide if they want to admit it or not. This was a cute book and I really ended up liking Colt.
Colt is the youngest Brasher brother and he is fed up with being his brother’s PA. He wants to be back in the spotlight doing what he loves ... singing. Unfortunately, no label has even bothered to call him back. When he meets Alexis, he has an idea that he hopes she will agree to. Alexis’ former girl band split up after an accident that ruined their reputation. Now she’s trying to go solo, but her old label is playing hard to get. Colt comes up with the idea to fake a relationship, but make it look serious, with the hope that it will help repair both their careers. They just never expected the fake relationship to feel so real.
Colt, with all his boyish charms, didn’t have the first clue that this fake relationship would get him in deep trouble. It irritated me how much he blamed his brothers for his life not turning out the way he wanted. And Alexis frustrated me to no end with the way she thought her manager’s word was gold. I wanted to tell her to grow up and think for herself! Colt’s mother is one heck of a piece of work ... I wanted to smack her so many times!

The Arrangement features the story of Colt Brasher and Alexis Lovell. This is the 8th book in the Songs and Sonatas series, meaning that you may understand some of the secondary characters and the background of the main characters more but it is also written in a way that you could also fully enjoy the book as a standalone.
Colt and Alexis both meet at a networking event for the music industry- Colt is there on behalf of his brother while also hoping to make some connections for himself and Alexis is there in an attempt to re-brand herself as a solo artist after a terrible accident destroyed her band. They embark on a relationship to mutually help each other out in the eyes of the industry- and as all good stories go, the relationship turns more real for both of them than they could have ever imagined.
This was actually the first book of this particular series that I have read (I love Jerica's books, I just hadn't gotten around to reading the Songs and Sonatas yet). So how well it compares to the rest of the series I'm not sure but I can say that I adored this book. I loved Colt's character and how genuinely affectionate he is and how concerned he is for Alexis' well being even when it can be at odds with what he wants. I love how Alexis grew through the book and was able to find out what matters most to her and how to fight for it.

This is a cute romance that had me swooning. Colt, with all his boyish charms, didn’t have the first clue that this fake relationship would get him in deep trouble. I didn’t like how he blamed his brothers for his life not turning out the way he wanted. And Alexis kinda pissed me off the way she thought her manager’s word was gold. I wanted to tell her to grow up and think for herself! Colt’s mother ... what a piece of work ... I wanted to kick her where the sun don’t shine! And isn’t that the sign of a good book that can elicit those feelings? A great addition to the series.
I received an early copy courtesy of the author in exchange for a honest review.
The Arrangement is Alexis and Colt's story and what happens when you enter a relationship of convenience, which then turns into a marriage of convenience and its not as easy as you think it would be. Alexis and Colt have both been in bands that didn't work out. Because of that no one wants to sign/take on former band members especially with the way Alexis' band "broke up". Which is where the fake relationship agreement is made, a mutually beneficial relationship where Alexis helps Colt with his song choice and Colt gives Alexis help by using his contacts. But what happens when this fake relationship doesn't feel so fake anymore and when you accomplish what you set out to do and your agent tells you the only way to get a contract with a label is to "cut all ties with Colt". But what would you do if you were told to break up with the person your falling for? What means more to you? The person you love or your career. What will Alexis choose? What will happen to their marriage of convenience? Read The Arrangement now to find out! I loved Alexis and Colt's story, I could not put it down, it was so addictive and I was not in the best of moods when I HAD to put it down! I received an Arc of The Arrangement and I am voluntarily leaving my review.
The Arrangement is book eight in Songs and Sonatas series. Each book covers a different person so they can be read as a standalone. I loved this one. Colt is the youngest brother. When he was younger he in the band Brash with his brothers and now he's PA for one of his brothers. He desperately wants to be be in the spotlight but can't get anyone to look at his work. Alexis was is a band too but her band ended in a bad way and she's looking to clean her reputation and get her music career on track. These meet and form arrangement to help each others career with a fake relationship. They have a great connection. They trust each other right from the start. Colt is sweet and charming. He does need someone to open his eyes to and point him the right direction and Alexis does a great job doing that. I liked Alexis. She is sweet and nice but she let her manager control way too much. I liked these to together. They have a great chemistry but both are a little hesitant to act on it because there is a lot riding on there relationship being perfect in the media's eyes. These two have ups and downs and truly are a great couple to read about.
I have really enjoyed this series so I was so excited to read Colt's story the youngest of the Brasher brothers . A fake relationships that starts to feel too real when Colt meets Alexis they both decide to pretend to be together so they can benefit both their lives and careers. But soon enough, lines get blurred to what is fake and what is real. I loved both of these characters both Colt and Alexis were naive I don't think they knew what they were letting themselves in for.But they did grow and mature throughout the story and changed one another. I couldn't put this book down Jerica always writes with such panache and makes me feel consumed with the story that it is easy to ,slowly fall in love with the main characters and their Romance and the chemistry they shared. Sweet, sexy and compulsive reading The Arrangement is a fabulous edition to this series and getting to know what makes Colt tick and be introduced to girl who steels his heart was really entertaining, pleasurable and remarkable I Loved it and highly recommend it.
I could not wait for this story to see who steals Colt's heart. What a surprise this was! Colt meets Alexis at an industry event. They hit it off but not in the dating sense, no they strike an arrangement to help and start over/advance their music careers and images. These two will steal your heart as they try to navigate being together as a fake couple while it's all moving super fast. They are caring and understanding. Their hearts are huge and they are both so cautious. I loved watching Colt grow with Alexis' honesty and help. I love how his brothers and sister-in-laws call him out on things. He is the youngest so his view is sometimes twisted. Alexis also grows and realizes what is most important to her. I could not put this book down. It was a fun, sexy read with lots of chemistry. It can be read as a standalone, but this series is amazing!!! Don't miss it!
Colt’s story is finally here and it is definitely worth the wait!! The youngest of the 3 Brasher brothers, we have seen elements of Colt in both Jonathan and Brendan’s book but it was great to get to know him fully in The Arrangement. He’s so lovable that it’s no wonder Alexis couldn’t stop herself from falling for him! As for Alexis, I really admire her drive to make a solo comeback from the disaster that struck her career, when she was part of an all girl band - Jerica really has a knack for highlighting the reality of celebrity life, that it’s not all fun and easy and you can’t help but empathize with both Colt and Alexis as they struggle to achieve their dreams. Hot and (very) sexy chemistry, a slow to grow love and HEA make this a 5 star read for sure!
I am a big fan of marriage of convenience books and Jerica MacMillan did an incredible job with this story line. I have been in love with this series from the very first book and I have loved every book in this series. This book is Colt’s story. I loved reading about him. I thought that Alexis was the perfect match for him. Getting to revisit with everyone was a real treat. The only bad thing about this book was it was the last one in this series. I have to say even though it was the last book that it rounded out the series well. I look forward to seeing what comes next by this author. I voluntarily reviewed this book in exchange for an honest review.
Colt and Alexis's story is an arrangement marriage Usually I struggle to read a fake relationship romance but I don't feel struggled while I am reading this book at all because for me, their relationship starts with friends then develops to lovers even if they have been attracted to each other since the beginning. The story is so sweet because Colt would do anything for Alexis. And I like that they are honest to each other. Anyway, the story doesn't have anything exciting and the drama which happens because Colt's misunderstanding seems weak so I get boring at some point and that is why I give the book 4 stars.
What started out as an arrangement to help both their careers turned into so much more! This story was a fun, sexy read with amazing chemistry! I loved their journey into a real relationship. I couldn’t put this book down! It is my favorite book of this series! I love hearing from Colts brothers and sisters-in-law. They had no problem calling him out on things to keep him on the right path. Colt and Alexis both grow and realize what they want their future to be. I love the Songs and Sonatas series. I highly recommend this book and the whole series to everyone!
This series is one of my all-time favorites. Meeting each couple and reading their stories have me falling hard every time. Colt and Alexis arrange to help each other’s careers out. I love how open they are about everything and how vulnerable Colt is. They understand it is all business until of course, it is not. They have no choice but to get to know each other on a very personal level in a short period of time. Their music writing blossoms beautifully. The only real drama is towards the end, but this author always gives us what we want in the end. Grab it now!
Both his and hers. In the lates songs and sonatas entry. This time it’s Colt and Alexis taking front and center. Colt is trying to make it solo (so far, it’s not taking). Alexis knows exactly what kind of smirking trouble Colt is, but it’s a fake it til you make it moment for them both. Will real feels get in the way?
I loved Colt and Alexis’ story! Two people helping each other out with a crazy plan. As they get to know each other feelings develop and love blooms. It is tough being together without really knowing each other and misunderstandings occur. A great HEA! This book is well written. You won’t want to put it down!!
Colt finally gets his story! Colt and Alexis get married to try to jump start both of their solo careers. What a ride while Alexis tries to deny her attraction to Colt. Once they start corroborating on their music and performing in little venues, they finally give in to their mutual attraction. Of course there is some twists and turns, but that just makes the story even better.
This book is my favorite of the series! You have two people that haven't had the best luck in their careers and lives, but with one chance meeting at a party, their entire worlds change. This book is sexy and sweet and at one point even brought me to tears. Definitely a book worth getting.
Great finish of a series. Colt and Alexis help each other out in a tough music industry. Great story line, good character development. Almost felt too short as the other characters had 2 books and so was sort of expecting this one to go longer as well. Was sad it finished so quickly.
I’m normally not a fan of the marriage of convenience trope, but The Arrangement has changed my mind! I absolutely loved Colt and Alexis and it was fun to get back into the Songs and Sonatas world. I highly recommend The Arrangement.
I really enjoy this series. I have a couple of books that are on my favorite list but with each book, I keep adding more. I really recommend this series
