A great book to fuel my latest obsession. Clear, great photos, and even some cool little projects at the end to help practice what you’ve learned along the way.

Had so much fun looking at the pictures!!! 🙃 Some of the items made are a bit questionable (like that tampon like object) but otherwise I would definitely want to make the other things! (Not)

I set out to learn how to crochet this year and have enjoyed it more than I thought I would! This book was a huge help and lived up to its title!

I don't know about you guys, but I have a really hard time learning hands on skills like knitting/crochet from books. Picked this up in the hopes I'd get some good patterns, but they weren't great. I wouldn't bother with this one again. YouTube has so many great videos by expert fiber artists, I will just watch more of those to get it right.

I made the mistake of telling my mother that I fancied crocheting some holly leaves to make an xmas garland. Through the post the next day (recorded delivery, my need to crochet holly leaves wasn't that urgent) came some crochet books.

This one says you WILL be able to crochet by the end of this book. Well, in a way I did, but it was a bit tortuous in doing so! And the projects given you in the book were a bit boring I have to say. I used to be a very busy knitter but have arthritis developing in my fingers and wrist so not so easy nowadays, I have no idea why I thought crocheting would be easier!! Anyway after a fashion I did make a small crochet strip but I can see this being a problem to make a leaf, am beginning to wonder if I should go back and try knitting again as you can get chunkier wool and more importantly fatter needles!!

This book is for the VERY beginner crocheter, for those who don't know what any of the stitches are (slip, single, half double, etc). It gives an illustrated guide to stitches and then a few different stitches such as the linen and star stitch, and then finishes with projects to make, from simple mug-warmers to hats, scarves, cushions, and a penguin toy.
It has some nice tips and tricks that I would have liked to have known before my first crochet project, so this would be a suitable gift if you know someone who wants to learn to crochet but doesn't know where to start. It would also be great in a public library collection (which I say just because I'm the type of person who would have checked it out).

Must have

I started crochet in school, when I was six and over the years picked it up again and again....but got disheartened when I couldn't follow a pattern or ran out of yarn because I used the wrong stitch.
I spend read this book in about an afternoon, skipping the bits I'm confident in...and focused 9n the stitch method US Vs UK and the pattern reading.
I'm so excited to get hooking again.
I read this on Kindle, the pictures are clear and instructions are excellent. I will probably also get the paperback version though, as the pics will be larger (hmmmm...perhaps I should read on the laptop instead for bigger pics?)
Thank you!

It's true, you will be able to crochet by the end of this book. Also, the projects are decent, useful, and not boring - always a plus.

Um livro perfeito para quem quer aprender a fazer croché, pois ensina os fios e agulhas mais apropriados, bem como os pontos básicos e as técnicas necessárias para concluir qualquer projeto. Adicionalmente, no fim do livro existem alguns projetos simples.
Só tive pena de não terem incluído a explicação dos símbolos que são utilizados em muitos dos esquemas de revistas de croché.
