This was a short steamy romance of novella-length that I did enjoy.
This was my first experience with this particular author and I found this to be a well written easy read.
So Isla Carrington gets taken by Warlord Killian Van Der Hoef when she goes to pay the ransom demanded for her fathers safe return.
Killian is currently playing war games in a disputed area called Penghali, fighting with other factions for this unclaimed piece of land.
Isla a duchess by birth is anything but a princess, she actually works for a crime syndicate in London so being taken hostage by Killian and his men and asked to pose as his wife is a walk in the park or jungle for her.
So though I thought this was good but the length did let this down slightly for me.
I would love to see this story eked out and expanded on it would add so much depth to the whole thing.
It was such an imaginative concept with a lot of wasted potential.
The length here just didn’t do the subject itself any justice, unfortunately.
Still, it was well written and as I said I did enjoy myself overall.
I also should add that considering the subject here this one is not actually a dark read either it’s actually a very sweet romance.
So yeh in conclusion interesting short and sexy read.

Thrilling and suspenseful read is what I have come to expect of the series and this book didn’t disappoint!! Killian is a Warlord of a war-torn jungle country and he is dangerous, crude and oh so sexy. He has met his match in Isla. She holds the title of Duchess but she is far from pampered, she is the second in command of the queen of London’s under world. Will they be able to survive they are intense attraction for one another?

I have so enjoyed this series so far. Each and every one different but yet all have alpha men. Love it.
So this was also a quick read, which sometimes we need these quick reads to get a way from life for a minute. Here we have Warlord, aka Killian, who is a mercenary. He is a dangerous guy and knows it. He is a fighter, and the leader of loyal fighters all fighting for the same cause. But there is something that he needs, money. So he does what he thinks to gain said money. He kidnaps a royal. But things do not go as planned.
What a fun quick read this was. I could not put my kindle down. Isla and Killian made a great pair and it was interesting reading their story. Would definitely recommend this read.

This one seemed a little shorter than some of her other reads but I enjoyed it every bit as much. She went a little different on this one pairing a warlord with a female mafia figure of sorts. Tons of heat, action, and a happily ever after.

Warlord is another spectacular short, sexy read with a bit of action to keep you occupied for the weekend or an afternoon.
Jagger Cole has nailed writing novellas to a T, he should be your go to man if you need something quick and fast. With some insta-love a bit of OTT from a beloved Hero and a strong willed Heroine, his books have everything you need.
Warlord doesn't fall short of this. With Isla coming into a jungle in the Middle East, to exchange money for her dad's kidnapping, she doesn't expect the kidnapper to keep her hostage after letting her father go.
She doesn't go down without a fight and it only spurs his admiration for her on. With this tug and pull between them, the Warlord, comes clean with needing her help to make his enemies fall off his back. If she helps he'll set her free in five days.
She doesn't expect to fall for him as hard as she does in five days. He doesn't expect it either. But when time runs out, it's their choice on the line. Will she leave? Will he chase her?

Warlord is the third book in Jagger Cole’s Power series. Like the other books in this series, this book’s premise deals with power struggles. This book focuses on Ilsa Carrington and Killian Van Der Hoef. Readers met Ilsa in the second book. She is the second in command for Viviana Amantea’s crime family. She is also the daughter of Lord Wallace Carrington a knighted MP in parliament. Her father, while abroad doing humanitarian work is kidnapped and held for ransom. Ilsa delivers the ransom. Her father is release but she is held in his place by Killian. There is an instant attraction between the two. He needs her as a ploy to get him out of a sticky situation with an opposing war lord. Does the ploy work? How do Ilsa and Killian get along? What develops from this escapade? To ascertain what occurs, you must read this book.
Yet again, Mr. Cole pens another emotionally complex romantic suspense. He masterfully conjures complex and intriguing primary and secondary characters. He uses the dynamics of pitting opposing forces against each other as the play strategic and political chess. His story is well-written. He utilizes strong dialog, dual POV, and a plethora of descriptive scenes to illustrate this plot. In doing so, he lends credibility to his plot. Well done, Mr. Cole!

What can I say, Jagger Cole has given us another hot alpha male (he always gets what he wants) and a strong women. This is the third book in the power series. I would recommend reading them in order to enhance your reading pleasure.

This was such a good read. This book brings us Warlord Killian and Isla. Killian is the Warlord over a group of followers who is trying to stay alive in uncertain times. His followers are totally loyal to him, but he needs money to fight against those who want to take over his small part of the country. He kidnaps Isla's father, and demands money, so Isla takes the money to Killian for her father's safe return. However, once Killian sees Isla, he wants her to help him get out of a problem that he has as he needs a "pretend wife" for a few days. Isla agrees. Isla is part of the London Mafia, so she trusts herself and doesn't appear to be the least bit frightened. The more time Killian and Isla spend together, feelings develop. This was an amazing read and I highly recommend it.

In Warlord we get Isla's story who we met in Outlaw. Isla is not what she appears to be who would guess that one of the highest members of the London underground is really royalty. When Isla's father is kidnapped in Penghali and held for ransom because of who he is that's when Isla meets Killian aka Warlord and the sparks fly! You really need to read this book as I don't want to spoil it for anyone but if you're a fan of OTT Alpha's then this is the book for you. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series Oligarch. I would definitely recommend this book. I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.

Not nearly enough.
This serious greatest flaw is that the plot is too big for the amount of space and detail were given for the actual story. These books should be a lot longer with a lot more detail which would also give us a better understanding and feeling for the chemistry of the characters. All the characters still are interesting because the novels are so short and the plots are such big ideas. It feels like in the lust and you never really understand where the love actually comes in.
I've said it a million times and I'll say it again. But if Jackie Cole rewrote this series and fleshed out these plots some more and worked on the characters. Chemistries this would be so hot.

This was a great book. I loved that Isla for her own book! Killian is a total OTT alpha male who is used to getting his way, but Isla comes along and is more than willing to go head to head with him. Killian and Isla's connection, chemistry, and pull to each other was fantastic! These two make a perfect couple; sassy and alpha! Great action and drama in this book and i can't wait to see what happens next! I would highly recommend this book and this author!

Killian is the warlord in the jungles of Penghali, between Burma and Bangladesh. He's kidnapped Lord Carrington from a photoshoot and his daughter, Isla, is flying in to deliver the two million pounds ransom. However, Killian gets one look at her and decides to keep both her and the money. Of course, Isla is no pushover, being second to the London crime boss. She's nobody's 'Duchess,' but Cole tells a great tale of how Killian plays the gentleman in the jungle wars and makes Isla his 'Queen!' Cole fills his pages with lots of action, sharp conversation, and enough feels to get five stars!

Another short book, that barely had a plot.... I felt like their was little to no chemistry between Killian and Isla.... Isla shows up to rescue her father and becomes Killian hostage.... He needs a wife, so he asked her to pretend to be his wife.... I kinda had alot of hope for both Characters as you meet them in the other book, and wanted to see how they would turn out, so I pretty disappointed....

Killian is a warlord who kidnaps Isla's father. When she shows up with the ransom he switches his prisoners . He makes a deal the she must stay five days and he lets her go. What could happen in five days??? This is an action packed, steamy fast paced story. That will melt your heart and could combust your kindle! I volunteered to review this story.

This was a scorching short set amongst a war torn jungle with a very hot war lord, Killian, and a beautiful bad a** duchess, Isla, who happens to be second in line to the queen of the London crime world. He met his match with her, and it leads to sparks and explosions lol. They’re a perfect match and definitely a fun read!

Isla Went to deliver the ransom for her father to Killian a independent commander. When Isla delivers the random Killian decided to keep her as a hostage and send her father home. Isla knew Lillian is fighting a lost cause but need to find out why. After awhile the attraction between the two starts. Good short story action along with some yummies😎😜

Awesome read!!!
I loved this steamy read emmensely!!! The spicy scenes fogged my glasses. The story was pretty original in the sense that I've read a book where the guy was aggressive enough to just kidnap the girl with sex in mind. It was great!! Thanks for writing this book Mr Jagger Cole...

Not What She Seemed

Honestly this book is just too short haha.. I love it but it ended too fast.. but it is a quick fix so I do not lose my reading mojo…

Warlord - 4 Stars!
Killian and Isla’s story was amazing! I had been waiting on it since reading Tyrant! Now I cannot wait for Oligarch! It’s steamy and has a little suspense. Plus a strong sassy lady going toe to toe with an alpha male!

Really OTT romance but it was great! Really enjoyed this fun, steamy, quick read! Loved the H’s alpha male attitude, didn’t go over the top and the h was a firecracker herself. And not in an annoying over cursing way!

HEA …rushed
I feel like this story was rushed. Just based of the kind of character Killian was, his retreat I did not see coming. I felt like Alfie and Viv could have sent men to defeat Raj. I was expecting killian and Isla could have ruled.

Killian is a warlord who once he meets Isla when she comes to trade cash for her dad, he instantly decdieds she's it for him and changes the terms if their deal to keep her there and from there this is a pretty fun novella with some action and fun banter

Jagger Cole, se inventa paises ficticios, con guerras ficticias, pero al final la historia no termina de convencer, la premisa se veia interesante, pero después Killian, no tenía un norte o un objetivo y todo lo hacia porqué no tenía un "hogar" me pareció lo más bobo de este mundo.
