Three witches and their magical cats solve paranormal murder cases in the mystical town of Wonder Falls. From USA TODAY Bestselling Author Harper Lin.
A coven of strange witches moves into a quaint neighborhood in Wonder Falls after the previous homeowners die of suspicious murder-suicides. Cath fears associating with them, but Aunt Astrid falls under the spell of their leader, Cedar Lott.
Cath and her furry friends soon learn the coven’s diabolical plans involving using Astrid, Bea, and—more gruesomely—Bea’s unborn baby. In the house in which the coven congregates, Cath discovers something even more sinister hidden in one of the rooms…
The Greenstone women must test their individual strengths and bravery to stop a powerful and deadly force that threatens the whole world.
Usually when there’s trouble Aunt Astrid, Bea and Cath all work together to put a stop to it. This time Aunt Astrid is the one in trouble and a very pregnant Bea has to step aside and let Cath take the lead to stop a dangerous coven. I loved how very intense and suspenseful this book was! Definitely one of my favorite books in this series.
I received this copy as an ARC to read and give an honest review. This is another fantastic story by Harper Lin. Everything starts out as a normal day for our 3 good witches when an enticing aroma comes from outside of the Brew-Ha-Ha. After investigating and finding the source of these wonderful smells they meet the "witches" who are selling the products. As time goes on Aunt Astrid comes under a spell cast by the newcomers who are hoping to control Aunt Astrid and prevent her from saving Bea and her expected baby. The "witches" are trying to summon a demon in order to rule with evil. They are befriending Aunt Astrid, Cath and Cousin Bea in hopes of gaining a sacrifice in order to summon the demon. Saving their family involves everyone, the cats, Jake and Blake. This was a wonderful book from beginning to happy ending. These stories are always a pleasure to read.
With double suicides and murders happening in Wonder Falls it doesn't take long for Cath, Bea and Aunt Astrid to get involved. When a peculiar women befriends Aunt Astrid and starts taking up all her time, Bea and Cath become worried. With Aunt Astrid preoccupied and Bea pregnant Cath has to make sure everyone is safe and everything is back to normal. This is book 11 in the Wonder Cat Mysteries and just as great as the first one. It can be read as a stand alone but, you will want to read about all the adventures the these witches have been on. I received an advanced readers copy of this book.
I really thought this book was going to be so much worse. I was enjoying this series less and less, and could already see myself DNFing.
And it did start off annoyingly, with the usual Cath seeing something supernatural and no one believing her despite them being actual witches. Like how do you get anything down to nerves after all you’ve been through?
But then it gets better, for a while I couldn’t get how Astrid could be so stupid, and a proper explanation is never really given, but I assume that Cedar was a witch that can make you do anything just using words? At some point Astrid says she’s not an actual witch but really I doubt that.
At times I found it so annoying how little Cath can do. Not only is she unable to move her body in an efficient way, but she has basically no magic. We have seen her sometimes do more than talk to animals, but here it seems that’s the only thing she can do, which is a bit of a letdown in a book about witches, and also a bit stupid because if I were a witch, you can bet I would learn all the magic I could.
But in the end the story was full of action and magic, and while not my favourite in the series, it gave me some creeps and I ended up liking it more than expected.
Things are never what they seem in Wonder Falls. Double suicides-murders-peculiar women and more seem to follow Cath, Bea and Aunt Astrid around. But this time Aunt Astrid is out of the picture and pregnant Bea is limited help, leaving Cath and trusted Treacle (her cat) to figure out what is happening. An exciting book that is full of vivid imagery and an incredible cast of characters, I could hardly put this book down.I loved the unpredictability of the problems and the ways Cath and friends were able to solve them. Beneath all the evil there is love and family that join forces and prove the old saying that good triumphs over evil.
There are stranger murder-suicides happening in Wonder Falls. There are new people in town and they seem to be targeting Aunt Astrid and Bea. Bea is due soon with her and Jake's child and doesn't need this extra stress at this time. What do these strange people want? Butter, Marshmellow, and Treach don't like these people either. They are not remotely interested in Cath. Just what are they? Can Cath prove they are not friendly and are bad? A very interesting story indeed! I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
I absolutely love this series and the main reason is Cath. She is one of my favorite characters ever. This one IMO is the darkest of the series. It is so funny to me that Cath has such great intuition and is usually right but others don't take her seriously except for Blake. Love them as a couple and how crazy he is about her. A supernatural story at it's best with lots of stuff happening. Great ending. Always looking forward to the next book in this series and hope it never ends.
Really enjoyed this book. As always I loved all the cars and how they interacted with their people. So protective and brave! Great story line! Had me on the edge of my seat most of the way through the book. I'm totally addicted to this series! It's absolutely phenomenal. I can't wait for book #12 to find out what the lovable witches and their adorable cats are up to!!!
I really love this series! She has some amazing story lines. Full of mystery, intrigue, a touch of horror, love and laughter. To me which makes a good book. Cath was surprised someone brought the gingerbread house she likes so much days after a murder suicide there. They have some new witches show up in town and they have taken a interest in her Aunt Astrid. Cath feels there is something off with them. She tries to convince her Aunt and Bea but they don't believe her. But as the death toll rises Cath knows she has to find out about them. At least she has her boyfriend Blake who backs her up. This was a great addition to the series. I loved it. I was given this book in exchange for an honest review. The review is of my own opinion.
Fantastic book. Something strange is in the air & the girls have bigger problems than they can ever imagine. Grabs you & holds your attention from page one all the way until the end. I look forward to the next book.
