While there wasn’t anything unusual or unlikeable about this volume, there was something that made me feel like it was a bit lacking compared to the previous volumes. Perhaps this feeling manifested because it was one of those post-climactic cool down moments that offered reflection and growth for the characters. Though I don’t think that was it.

The real-world story of Haruyuki trying to help Kuroyukihime out emotionally, learn about the quantum processing abilities of brain burst, and meet someone else in the real, were all compelling, however, they were slow. The first 90 pages were kind of a drag, and then the remaining pages happened to pick up but by then the volume was ending, not to mention the character he was with wasn’t the most compelling of characters. Still, whatever I may have felt about pacing and intensity, I still found myself sniffling and all through the emotional moment.

So maybe I did love this volume afterall.

Overall, big things are promised in the future and this provided excellent setup.

as an SAO fan, this one stopped me in my tracks - Kawahara with his teasing little bits of information, or big ones, as with Kuroyukihime's revelations herein, makes me crazy.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND - Accel World Volume 23 Light Novel Reki Kawahara
This author is best known for the light novel Sword Art Online. Eventhough he states at the end of each of his novels that he takes 11 months to publish a new novel, in English it actually is about 3 years behind. About 40 percent of each novel is the author retelling, resummarizing, and filling with zero-thoughts (thinking by the main character that does not lead to anything or anywhere). Because the author has been unable to finish the main story arc and the supporting arcs, he is taking an hour to hour day to day description of this story.It hasn't even been a week since the start of summer vacation for Silver Crow, but in that time, about 7 volumes have been written, the Acceleration Research Society (from Oscillatory Universe) has already taken hostages about 4 times, betrayed everybody about 8 times, and illogically, senseless and nonsensical rooting for the bad guys. ARS arc is from volume 10, still in 25 and they keep defeating and winning and deceiving and cheating their way to victory. Not only are the main characters less capable, but they have no capacity to just quit playing that stupid game and just letting the light novel completely burn in it's own dumpster fire. There is no point to this light novel anymore. Almost everyone of the main characters has been held hostage, been imprisoned, or betrayed already by the same evil characters (in this seven day period July 19-27 2047).
Inti is destroyed by one sword slash, but the apocalypse god it creates cannot be killed and is only twice as strong as the inti egg sun??? The author isn't even congruent with the rules and premises he starts out with. What is the point to dragging this fiasco on and on, with main characters that are modest, underachievers, withouth foresight or purpose? I really feel sorry for the people that liked this light novel from before and I hope no one makes the huge mistake to purchase it from volume 17-25 (and ongoing)---

Important revelations about Kuroyukihime, one of the main characters, with the plot advancing towards the final battle with the White Legion. I found some plot holes regarding the whole Megumi rescue operation and the way Haruyuki “mastered” his sword, but nevertheless, it is still an enjoyable volume.
