The American Diabetes Association is the nation's premiere nonprofit association devoted to diabetes research and care. The Association is also the largest publisher of diabetes books; in fact, 1 in 3 books on diabetes published in the United States is published by us.

Our books range from cookbooks, lifestyle guides and diabetes self-management resources to texts for health care professionals and researchers working toward better treatment, and ultimately a cure for, people with diabetes.

Many of the books we publish are written by well-respected health professionals and chefs. These books can be found on the "Published by the ADA" shelf on our bookshelf.

I'm somewhat on the fence about this cookbook. I don't actually find the recipes that inspiring and it feels like old-school vegetarian that would make the uninitiated turn and run in the other direction from vegetarian cooking and eating. I've kept it for a number of years as every now and then, particularly when I need to lose a bit of weight or need something simple and quick for a meal for myself, I will flip thru the daily menu suggestions for something easy and basic and relatively low calorie. It reminds me more of a health guide you'd be given in a nutrition class at school than a cookbook to cherish and enjoy. So, for now, it stays on my bookshelf for quick reference, but definitely not the book I'd recommend folks run out and buy.
