I Crave You

Rate this book
When life gives you lemons, put them in your bra and make you tatas look bigger. If I had done that at fourteen, maybe I would have avoided the unfortunate nickname of "Flatty Cami." It all started when I met Brody Murphy. I was eight years old and it was love at first sight. Fortunately, or unfortunately depending on your perspective, he showed me his true colors six years later. We argued every time I saw him, which was a lot since he was my brother's best friend. The hostility became outright hate when he coined that nickname I mentioned—the one that I didn't leave behind until I graduated high school. The day he got married and moved away was probably the luckiest day of my life and since then, I graduated college, started a business, and grew boobs so the whole nickname thing shouldn't still bother me. Yes, I know it shouldn't, but some grudges are worth holding. Now, Brody's back in town, divorced, and with his adorable daughter in tow. But he's not the same boy I once knew. He's a hot single dad who makes me laugh and it's getting harder and harder to remember all the reasons I should hate him. And way too easy to fall in love.

Small town romance. A brother's best-friend, single father trope. Brody and Cameron have known each other since they were kids. Brody was an ass to the heroine Cameron when she was in junior high. He's now back with his daughter Jack, divorced, he seems to have changed.

Cameron's banter with her best-friend Sierra is very entertaining.

Wish Brody's daughter was in more scenes more substantially.

This started really well and I was really enjoying it, but the latter half of the book lost momentum for me. I wasn't keen on Brody pushing Cameron away and was bummed I didn't get to see Brody confront his ex.

DNF.
Nope. I can't stomach another hero who made the heroine's life miserable as kids and who still acts like an adolescent dickhead at 30. And yet he gets away with it - and readers are supposed to find him swoon-worthy - because he's hot.
The whole "he treated her like crap because he really liked her" excuse is such a load of bollocks. I must have missed the life's lesson where we're taught it's okay to humiliate someone for something they can't help "IF you REALLY like them."

🙄🖕

I'm done with any story that uses that overdone trope. This story and its hero are as cliché as they come.

Small town romance

Small town romance with characters that’ll have in laughter. The dialogue is gold and so natural you feel part of the conversation.
Cameron our lead heroine is at the top of the list her banter with her best friend Sierra is hilarious. Cam has lived here her whole life, she owns the ice cream store Crave. Sierra her best friend and silent partner hers two have a friendship you dream about.

When the guy she crushed on Brody Murphy moves back home his daughter she’s on alert. Brody Murphy her brothers best friend and the one guy she never lost hope in the possibilities of one day. He’s divorced and he’s back. He’s also noticed her.

These two together are perfect. The easiness of their coming together is at times comedy gold. Throw in her meddling mother wants grand babies, her best friend Sierra and the town gossip that runs rife and you’ve got an entertaining read.

REVIEW

Rating: 2.5/5
POV: 1st; Single (FMC)
Tropes: Single Father; Best Friends Sister/Brothers BFF; Friends to Lovers;
Heat Level: 3/5
Kinks: N/A

Likes:
* Gary the raccoon. Best character of the whole book!
* There lot's of women empowerment in this story and its supported/backed up by the FMC's parents which I enjoyed.

Dislikes:
* The plot is very boring. I skimmed the last 50%
* There's some errors that really aren't a big deal but I guess I was looking for something to be annoyed at - ex. FMC is 27... and then a chapter later shes 28.. yet didn't have a birthday??
* So many antiquated sayings in this book even though it's supposed to be modern day, ex. - necking, guffaws....

Conclusion:
Contemporary romance that lacked a good plot. Also I probably disliked it because it did have a trope I'm not a huge fan of which is single father and the fmc is just someone outside of the help, lol (nanny, maid, etc). Gary the raccoon that the FMC fed was the most interesting character in the whole book. I could've just read a whole story about his antics and been more entertained...

I don't really have much to say about the book except boring.

2.5/5

This is the first book in the series - and I will definitely looking out for the next installment. There are a number of people who could feature in the future ... but Sierra has to be top of the list!

Cam has a successful business, with a silent partner in her best friend from college, Sierra. I just have to say that providing us with all the dreaminess of those ice cream flavours ... not helpful if one is trying to diet! Cam is sassy, fun, loyal and generally a good person. So when the one man who has the ability to make her mad turns up in town with a lovely little girl, her world is spun on its axis. Brody was her brother's best friend, and her nemesis, and crush. So now she has to decide how to deal with all those feelings, but now as an adult.

Watching these two navigate around the complexities of life, love and family is highly amusing, sexy and very enjoyable. I would highly recommend that you give it a go.

This is the first book I read by C.C. Wood, and I loved it! The characters were well written and interesting. The story was easy to read, and just swept me along. I hated to put it down.

Brody and Cam have a complex history. He is not only a single dad, he is also her brother's best friend who she has known since childhood. Their relationship become complicated when they were teens, and she has avoided him since. Brody has remained close to her brother, and to her parents. Following his divorce, he moves back to their town, and into Cam's orbit. There is so much chemistry between them, its only a matter of time before things get hot, and more complicated before they finally get their HEA.

The author did such a wonderful job developing not only the main characters, but also the secondary characters from Brody's young daughter, to Cam's brother J.J. and best friend Siera. I'm already looking forward to reading more books by this author, especially in the Crave series!

Brody was Cam's first true love, always from a young age the only problem was he was her brothers friend, a forbidden love.

Life allowed them to both go their separate ways, Cam choosing her career and forming a successful business and Brody a family, until Brody and his daughter return alone.

Can life return to the closeness between them both especially now Brody has a daughter to look after or will it be more a hate vibe?

With spending more and more time together in such a small community the line between love and hate is so fine, with twists and turns ahead what lies ahead for this duo?

A fantastic first experience of this author, where you don't want it to end, the characters draw you in from the very start.

I loved it! I 100% recommend the book! I didn’t have any expectations before reading it, but oh, I couldn’t stop reading.
Old feelings coming back, romance, jokes, friendships, family, these put together make the perfect combination.
The heroine, Cam, and her best friend are the perfect duo. And not to forget the hero, Brody, who was the sweetest father and boyfriend.

Such a Fun read! Once I started, I couldn't get enough❤, Completed in less than 8hrs.
Brody & Cam were Fun+Teasing, Deep+Emotional, Brody's little girl-Jacks was sweet❤ Loved these 3 & all the side-Characters! (Except his Ex-wife Monica, I hate her.)

ARC won in a giveaway. Lucky to read it!
#My 1st From C.C. Wood, this was fun, I'm definitely going for more!

[Cam's ice cream shop's name is Craze. Delicious!]

Cam's quick-witted, kind, Ambitious, Fun WHILE Brody is J.J. (Cam's bro)'s Best friend, her Teen crush/Nemesis, Always been off-limits.
AND Now, after a nasty divorce, he's back with his daughter in their little town.

He's still the sexy, Smart, fun, teasing guy but now he's more mature. Cam's too.
& Him with his cutie daughter? Aww soo sweet!

It's Hilarious throughout!
Family Dinners, Cam+Brody's arguments then apologies, Becoming friends, Consistent texting, Brody-Jacks' Food Crawl (So cute!).

Then Brody & Cam's Feelings coming out in the open (Mutual Crushes! He was mean to her as he liked her *whistle*) Omg, fun talk🔥.
They agree to give this a chance, take it slow. *Yay!*
(J.J. was an ass, but well only for, like, half a day! Her bestie-Sierra was Saying Cam should totally bone Brody *Chuckle*)

There are Movie dates, Hot Kisses, Cute Family moments, Cam & Sierra's Funniness, Town Gossip Mill (oof!), Ice cream shop shenanigans, Fun times, Sexual tension, Sexy times *wink*, Them Falling in love (Hell yeah, Love Confessions!)

But of course Trouble will come. Here comes Monica (his Ex-wife) with her greedy ass & Threats *huff*

She was such a problem! She was even worse, using Jacks for her means.
Due to M, Brody & Cam had to be apart for weeks!
*Temporary* Break-up, Finding Truth, Finances, Miserable days, Confrontation..HEA?
Will Monica Back-off? Who'll have Jacks' custody?

When it's meant to be, they always find a way. Cam+Brody are Meant to be. After all this darkness, they find their Light. Their HEA. with Jacks, of course *Swoon!*

The epilogue was Gorgeous! His Proposal was Beautiful and Ice-Creamy *Chuckle*❤.

P.s. I'm so looking forward to Sierra & Ben (Brody's young bro) Next. They'll be Fun!

Also excited for J.J. & Lee's story!

M/F Romance - semi - second chance
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

Cam is a tough woman. She is independent, strong, compassionate and has made her living doing something she loves. With her best friend, Sierra as a silent partner in the business, Cam and Sierra are heading towards franchising Cam's ice cream shop.

Brody is Cam's brother's best friend. He and Cam are like oil and water. When he comes back to their hometown with Jacks in tow, he isn't sure what to expect, but Cam's hostility and aloofness is not what he is expecting. Brody knows that he should be more mature around Cam, but he just falls in to his old habits of taunting and aggravating her.

When Cam sees Brody with his daughter, she can't help but see the potential. And, when their chemistry starts to build again, Cam has to decide if she can overcome the hurt that she felt as a young girl. And, can Brody find it in his heart to let someone else in?

These two have a long, slow burn that builds to a peak, but it isn't what you would think. I really liked watching them figure out what they truly wanted. The conflict is heartbreaking and frustrating, but it is real. I can't wait to see what happens next, as all of the characters were fun to see and their banter was great!

I was given this book for an honest review. I Crave You has everything you need in a book. There's steam, heat, sweet and laugh out loud comedy! Cam and Brody set the pages on fire in this small town rom-com. Sierra and Cam's friendship is quirky and amazing and Jacks is sweet and funny. CC Woods managed to make all these wonderful characters and build relationships and a realistic world you'll get lost in. I can't wait for the next one!

It’s been a while since I’ve read a new C.C. Wood book, and I’m not sure why I waited so long. Her stories are always entertaining and prove to be a pleasant escape from daily life.

Summary:
Cam and Brody have a complicated history. They met when Cam was eight and Brody was twelve. For Cam, it was love at first sight. It didn’t last, though. Brody effectively ended Cam’s adoration of him about six years later, and turned their once friendly relationship into something a lot more contentious. Years of arguing and open hostility followed whenever they saw each other. Considering Brody was Cam’s brother’s best friend, this was a lot. Cam finally caught a break when Brody got married and moved away. She graduated and started her own business, becoming confident and successful. Then Brody comes home. But not alone. He’s divorced and bringing his sweet little girl home. Cam is more than ready to dredge up that old grudge and remember all the reasons why she hates him. Unfortunately, or not, Brody makes that path hard to follow. He’s not the same boy that left years before. He’s a funny, sexy, single dad and even easier to fall in love with than he was at twelve.

I Crave You was a sweet, romantic brother’s best friend romance. Brody and Cam were entertaining and sweet with a comfortableness that showed their shared history. I adore Cam. She was a fantastic heroine. She’s smart, strong, successful, hardworking, and not afraid to speak her mind. I really liked that she had a crazy personality (in a good way), but was grounded enough to make smart decisions. I liked Brody well enough. He was confident, smart, successful, and I loved how he was with his daughter. He was all in with being a dad and showed it. That said, I would have liked more from him. I think there could have been a whole other dimension to the story if only we got Brody’s POV or even more detail about his life and business. Cam and Brody’s relationship felt real and natural. It wasn’t a leap to envision their respective teenage crushes becoming something more intimate. I loved how their relationship progressed gradually; first rekindling their buried friendship, then becoming more intimate. There was undeniable chemistry and heat to make it a well-rounded romance. Overall, this book will definitely go on my reread list. It’s the perfect feel good romance that will have you smiling to yourself in contentment. Supporting cast was fantastic as well. I was intrigued by Cam’s bestie, Sierra. She was quirky and fun, and I really can’t wait to get to know her better. I also really liked Cam’s brother, J,J. He seems allergic to commitment, so I’m excited to see if there’s a woman out there to tame him. Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long to see what happens next and catch up with Cam and Brody again. If you’re looking for fun, sexy read with great relationship dynamics, I Crave You is definitely for you. ♡

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
Cam owns her own business with her BFF as a silent partner and they are looking at opening other shops. When Brody shows up at her parent's house for family diner with his daughter in tow.
Cam was in love with Brody when she was younger but he was her brother's best friend. And Brody always picked on her, never really noticed her as girlfriend material. Now he is back in town and she doesn't want anything to do with him.
Brody brings his daughter back home where he grew up. He wants her to grow up like he did, close to his parents and the people that meant the most to him. And he wants to get closer to Cam. But Cam is not happy to see him, she is nice to his daughter though.
Can Brody make Cam understand that he picked on her because he really did like her? Will Cam believe that him and trust him with her heart? Will Jacks accept Cam and her dad dating? What happens when Brody's ex-wife shows up?
I really enjoyed this story, Cam is an independent, hard-working woman. She doesn't need a man to protect her. I like that she doesn't become a damsel in distress when the ex-wife shows up. Brody is yummy and knows that he wants Cam and he will do what it takes to convince her of that. And don't forget Jacks, she is a doll, funny and knows that she wants Cam in their life.
If you are looking for a feel-good lost love, then this story is for you. I can't wait for the next one in the series to see what happens, I hope it is Sierra's story. Sit back and enjoy this one!

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

Friends to enemies to frenemies to lovers. I love a book that has it all. Growing up and having a crush on the boy next door or your brother's best friend is rite of passage for most of us. Watching the person you crush on make a big mistake and knowing that there is nothing you can do about? One of the worst feelings in the world.

That's all it takes for Cameron to put Brody on the list of thou shall not be named. However, when he moves back to town with his daughter, Cam can't help but fall in love with his daughter. She soon realizes that her old feelings for Brody have matured into something more and while she tries to stay way, there's just something about him that has her intrigued.

Brody is gun shy and all about his daughter. His ex has done a number on him and he's wary of inviting anyone new into his life - and especially his daughter's. However, if he can convince Cam to take a chance on him, he just might fall in love with the girl next door.

This book was highly enjoyable and I can't wait to see where the next book takes us. There is plenty going on with Sierra - Cam's bestie- and I would love to know more.

I Crave You by C. C. Wood was everything I needed it to be and so much more! I needed a story to draw me in and keep me captive, and I was extremely glad to be in this world!

Oh my GIDDY AUNT, but Cami and Brody are amazing! I adore Cami in all her feisty fiery nature! She's a whirlwind and a hoot and I wish she was my friend! And then there's Brody...from the start you can tell there is so much more to him, and getting to reveal each and every layer is a treat in and of itself! He is a cinnamon roll and it's beautiful!

Firstly, I need a Crave in my life. It honestly sounds like the best place in the whole wide world, and if they ever need a taste tester, I'm their gal!

Secondly, I honestly don't have the words to describe how awesome the cast of secondary characters are! They really contributed to and enhanced the story and made my heart happy as my stomach ached from laughing.

And can I just say that I sincerely hope to have Ben and Sierra's story soon? Or Sierra and anybody, because everyone needs a best friend like her and I greedily want more of her! Because I need it!

This was my first book by C. C. Wood but definitely will not be my last!

Without reading the synopsis, I just knew that Cam and Brody were the main characters. Their hatred for each other (although I hesitate to call it hatred) was so combustible. You could feel their chemistry leaping off the page, to the point, it made me uncomfortable for the people around them. That's some tension!

The whole group of people in this story and series make me laugh. From Cam and her family, to Brody and his brother, to the nosy townspeople who watch and report on Cam and Brody.

My favorite character might have to be Gary. Just because I like animals and Gary gives zero effs about people. Except for Cam when she is supposed to have fed him. And he will let her know if she's late. Cam has a good heart, even if she says that it's the neighborhood who feeds him when it's actually her who takes care of Gary.

I can't wait for Sierra's story. She has such an interesting background and philosophy on life that I must know more! Plus, I want to meet more of Ben.

I Crave You is a fantastically cute read. If you love single father romances and witty banter then you will just love I Crave You. You will giggle out loud several times over when it comes to Cam and her bestie Sierra. I love Cam and how independent she is. There is such a great bond between the Cam and Sierra. Cam has been in love with Brody for such a long time and when he comes back to his home town watch those sparks fly. Brody is a fantastic single father to Jacks. They will put a smile on your face when it comes to father daughter time. Brody and Cam are everything. I love the sparks and banter between them. As you get to know them both you see how a perfect match. There is something magical about their relationship and how Cam is with Jacks. This book is just a perfect feel good read that will put a smile on your face from the very start to the very end. I couldn't get enough of I Crave You and I'm so looking forward to more of the Crave series.

What a fun cute read. Cam fell for Brody at a early age but he was her brother’s best friend and eventually he became a big tease towards Cam. Fast forward into adulthood and Cam is a successful business woman and Brody is a recently divorced single dad. Cam is sassy, fun, Witty and still aggravated with Brody. Brody is a hot dad who has no idea why Cam is so hostile towards him but seeing him with his daughter Jacks may just save him yet. Brody and Cam have such pent up chemistry the sparks fly right out of the book. This book is full of fun, sarcasm, passion, love, and forgiveness. I absolutely loved this book and can’t wait to see what comes next.

Everything about this book was perfect, the characters, the story, the dialogue. I really enjoyed reading this book especially how he was with his daughter. There's nothing more attractive than a good father. I would love to keep reading their story and seeing them with more kids!. The little bit that we got from the background characters makes me want to pick up the 2nd book asap because I need to read their story

I liked the sound of this story from the synopsis, and it started out fine and then nose dived straight into underwhelming after about a third of the way through, leaving me to drag myself through the rest. It wasn’t that Cam and Brody weren’t likable, they were simply not interesting. I admired that Cam was so independent and self-motivated and had the confidence to fend for herself. Brody was a good guy who put his daughter first (ugh, her name is Jacqueline, but she goes by Jacks, which is so cringe) and had his heart in the right place except for misleading Cam into thinking he couldn’t stand her. Yet even with that angst trap, there wasn’t much to it in terms of building anticipation and veered into sappy territory pretty quick with a weak third act. It’s a light read with a storyline and characters that won’t stand out as unique, but still follows the romance formula for a happy ending.

This was my first book I have read by C.C. Wood and I loved it!
“Sometimes boys are mean because they like you. “ I think all girls have heard that at some point in their young lives but it can break your adolescent heart when someone you really like is mean to you. If only Cam would have paid attention then.
Brody is back and you’ll just have to read this book to learn how it goes.

Decent, but a bit dull

It was fine. I don't have any major complaints with the characters or the writing style. It was just a bit boring. Nothing really happened. There was a slight bit of drama near the end of the book, but it was cleared up quickly with no real issue.

I love stories where it all starts with a hate/love relationship and ends with a love that expands time. this is one-off those stories it took me on a rollercoaster ride of emotions from wanting to hit him to hug her, cry laugh its all in there. I was instantly hooked and couldn't get enough the story makes you feel like it's all unfolding in front as if it's happening to you. I hope you all fall in love with this story as much as I have

Cam and Brody stole my heart. Cam I respect her for the way she excepted Brody as a total package daughter and all. Brody I absolutely love the way he is raising his daughter. He one my heart with that alone. Now for Cam and Brody their relationship was fantastic. I don’t think C.c. Could have done a better job at creating their characters she was spot on. Oh and the spunk of the raccoon Gary was a great topping to the ice cream crave 😊 Great book!
