Zenith Series #4

Zenith's Legacy

Rate this book
Being the daughter of a rock star kind of sucks.

Kathy Randall has worked very hard to keep her stepdad’s rock band, Zenith and the clinging fans out of her daily existence. She finally has her life exactly on track and how she wants it; she works in music on her own terms and is engaged to the pastor of the church she works at.

When Eric James took the security job for Rob Williams, the lead singer of his favorite band, Zenith, Eric hoped to become Rob’s bodyguard. But unfortunately, his assignment is to guard Rob’s stepdaughter. The shy, quiet, awkward, middle daughter, who works in a church, and whom he met under the strangest circumstances.

Eric both infuriates and intrigues her. Their relationship allows her to be uncharacteristically argumentative, opinionated, and surprising to Kathy, honest. But before she can figure out what it is happening between them, the legacy that only Zenith could bring into their lives shatters them in a way nobody predicted, except maybe, the one person it almost destroys…

Raw. Real. Emotional Romance. Writing provocative and darker themed romance that always finds its happily ever after!

With 50 plus, full length books there is a story for everyone!
Cowboy romance? Got it! Small town... yep. Big city rock star? Covered! You like a little suspense? Yep, got a few of those too.

Most of my books are standalone stories in connected series. Whether it's the setting, theme or family connections, my series are often multi-generational and span decades. While each book is a complete story, beloved characters will pop in and out of these sagas. I stick to new adult, contemporary and western romances, with tons of emotion and all the feels tucked into them.

I live in the rainy area of Western Washington, and spend as much time as I can traveling to destinations all across the state, where I do all things outdoors.
Many of these locations become the settings for my books.

Being a fan of the Zenith series I was excited when I saw the kids of Rob and Rebecca and Nick and Joelle were getting stories.

The one thing I always knew I would get from a Leanne Davis book was a tragic, heartbreaking, emotional make your stomach knotted while reading it stories. These books dont seem like they are going to be of that level of emotion.

Middle child Kathy Randall has devoted herself to God. She is still a virgin and really has no interest in sex or intimacy even though she is engaged to be married to Pastor Jim Zavarian and is the church choir director. She thinks she is frigid and never argues or loses her temper. That is until her Dad's new head of security assigns himself as her personal bodyguard.

Eric James was asked by his boss, Nick Lassiter who is Rob Williams brother in law to take over Security for Rob and his family. Eric had hoped by taking the job he would be Rob's personal bodyguard and get to travel with the band. After a very uncomfortable first meeting with Kathy, he ends up being assigned to her. He is not exactly thrilled with protecting the awkward middle daughter, who works in a church. But its not long before a fascination forms.

This was a straight contemporary romance. Nothing wrong with it, had a good love story that took a long time to build but I missed the darker aspects that this author is known for.

This is my first book by Leanne Davis.

Zenith Legacy is book 4 in this series. This story revolves around Kathy who is the Stepdaughter of a Zeneth Band Member, Rob.

Kathy is a very quiet young lady. A music director at her church, engaged to Pastor Jim. Life is the way it should be until she meets Eric who is hired as a Security guard to protect her at all costs. Eric meets Kathy for the first time while she is half dressed. This is a shock to both of them as Kathy is the shy timid type. At this first meeting Eric falls for Kathy but only realises the depth of his feelings when he is hurt protecting her stepfather Rob. Kathy then also realises that she cannot marry Jim as her feelings are with Eric.

Jim sees the love they have for each other and releases Kathy from their engagement. At first it is hard for Kathy because of her beliefs and wanting to wait for marriage before loosing her virginity.
As we have it their feelings and desire for each other lead them down a path which they do not regret. Eric and Kathy finally get married and as we have it they have a little bundle of joy on the way.

I would love to read the rest of this series in the near future.

Well done to Leanne Davis on a great book. This book is recommended for anyone looking for a new author and can be read as a standalone.

Zenith's Legacy introduces Eric James who took on the security job hoping to be guarding Rob, But Rob assigned him to Kathy, one of Rob's step daughters. Their first introduction was shockingly bizarre and it opens up Kathy to a whole new gamut of emotions she's not used to feeling. Quiet, prim and proper, Kathy is thrown for a loop.

Kathy, the stepdaughter of the mega star. She is the middle daughter, reserved in her mannerisms and speech. She is the musical director at her church and engaged to the pastor. Their future looks like it will be nice and calm. Her family ties though bring new people and threats to their lives however. Eric is the bodyguard hired to re-evaluate their security systems and bodyguards. He is excellent at what he does and takes the personal aspect out of everything. That is until his very unorthodox meeting with Kathy. He falls a little bit that first time. He struggles with his attraction because first, she’s his client and second, she’s engaged. Kathy is very religious and has found her calling in God. Her ideals are admirable..

A series of misadventures and a horrible event will serve as a huge wake up call for her entire family and especially in her. So many questions are broiling in Kathy. She will have to search her heart and dig deep into her soul, make very grown up decisions that could make or break her.

This is one book that a must read and one of my fav of the series..hurry and get this book you won’t regret it

Such a great heartwarming story. Kathy the step-daughter of a Rock Star is so shy and timid. Some may say she had a mousy way about her. Always under the protection of security, she always did what she was told. Kathy finds herself engaged to a Pastor and she is also very involved in the Church and dreams to be a Pastor, but is afraid to tell her Fiance. She's very shy and timid around him and agrees with everything he says. That is until she meets Eric installing a new security system in her parent's compound. A very embarrassing meeting. Eric falls for her instantly and decides he's going to be her personal security guard after a very dangerous threat to the family. She doesn't like being followed around by him because of how they first met. Things heat up and this shy mousy girl turns into a powerful woman around Eric. No more about this story, you must read it to find out how it ends. I've read two different series from this Author and they are so different, yet so much alike. Leanne is an amazing writer and I love reading her books. Starting on the next one Zenith in Love now.

Leanne Davis has this ability to write complicated family ties. This series is no different yet unique. Set in a rockstar world this family has such deep devotion to each other even though they tease each other. This book focuses on Kathy, the stepdaughter of the mega star. Her ideals are admirable. They also blind her in ways that it takes something so horrific to see past them. I love the fact that with any of Ms Davis’s books, you can jump in at any time.

The Zenith series began as a trilogy and it was my favorite series from Leanne Davis. Then she decided to add onto it! And she didn't disappoint! Number four, Zenith's Legacy reopens the world of Zenith and continues the series.

Zenith's Legacy introduces Eric James who took on the security job hoping to be guarding Rob, lead singer of his favorite rock band. But Rob assigned him to Kathy, one of Rob's step daughters. Their first introduction was shockingly bizarre and it opens up Kathy to a whole new gamut of emotions she's not used to feeling. Quiet, prim and proper, and engaged to a local pastor, Kathy is thrown for a loop by a massive wall of man stirring forbidden feelings.

A series of misadventures and a horrible event will serve as a huge wake up call for her entire family and especially in her. So many questions are broiling in Kathy. She will have to search her heart and dig deep into her soul, make very grown up decisions that could make or break her.

Yo...this was definitely a five star read for me.

I loved the initial trilogy of these books and was so excited for this and to be honest I was a bit disappointed. Kathy is so dull and prissy. I know she as was a lot younger in Zenith fulfilled but she seems to have completely had a personality transplant and become completely different from the fun, fun loving girl she was. She is unsure, timid and almost a doormat to her fiance who she barely feels comfortable having a conversation with. I would expect this type of switch if there has been some sort of past trauma but there wasn't. Eric helped slightly bring her out her shell but the formula that worked well in Zenith falling off the heroine only able to speak her mind with the hero falls short here due to her complete almost mute personality with everyone else.
What really sucks is the idea of the story is a good one and had so much potential. I hope the next few books get back to the slightly damaged but sassy, stand up for herself heroine.

Great read! Leanne Davis's stories feel so real. Eric and Kathy, both are very normal, very regular people. They don't stand out with their quirky behavior or extraordinary talents and yet Leanne, with her story telling skills connects the reader well with her characters and makes the reader feel invested in them. The flow of story, building of characters and their motivations was on point. The idea that you only show/be your true self with a certain person is so true, yet so difficult to explain, is brought to life in a wonderful way. Loved the way Eric and Kathy communicate and bicker verbally and non-verbally. Although I feel there could have been more interactions between Eric and Kathy to establish their comfort with each other before the big turning point in the story happens. After that, their relationship grows organically and culminates in a very natural way. Rifts between characters are not arranged just for the sake of it. Overall, it was a lovely story to get lost in.

I am a fan of the Zenith series so far, but I struggled with this one. This story concentrates on Kathy, the daughter of Rob, a Zenith band member. When Eric is hired to protect Kathy, you get the slow burn of a relationship building up which is easy to see, but with complications ! Kathy is already engaged to Pastor Jim and a virgin. Much of the story, is based around Kathy, Eric and Jim all trying to "do the right thing" and contrary to what might be considered "the norm" in this type of threesome story, there really is no bad guy, infact its the opposite. I actually felt sorry for Jim, who did nothing wrong and even did the right thing. It was however very slow burning, took a long time to build up and the chapters very long. None the less, if you have enjoyed the Zenith series so far and like a slow burn contempory romance this is still a good read.

Zenith's Legacy : A Bodyguard Romance is book 4 in The Zenith Series by  Leanne Davis. Righ from the beginning i was hooked. Kathy is the middle daughter of the head singers of Zenith. She grew up always being guarded but has been very sheltered. She is very shy and modest. Kathy meets the new security guard while he was installing the new security in her house. Eric came to  be the head security at the compound. He came to evaluate the security system and to make sure everything was tight on security.  Eric is now Kathys full time bodyguard and doesn't really like it at first. These two have chemistry. Eric can't and won't do anything about it because of his job. Kathy is engaged to a pastor and doesn't know how to handle her growing feelings for Eric. This is a great book and the series is great. Can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Eric was just doing his job of protecting Rob’s family when he got back he job of looking after Kathy. Rob’s step daughter who was a shy and quite lady. Eric and Kathy didn’t hit it off to well right away and that made everything harder. Kathy always felt safe in her place of worship and the church held a special place. Her best friend and fiancé Jim was there for her though her feelings weren’t of full passion. She felt something different with Eric. She was being more herself and stating her feelings and needs and wants but holding back with others. Eric was the only one who truly listened. Then a shocking thing happened and changed everything for her. So, Eric and Kathy needed to explore their feelings for each other. This is a great book and I’ve enjoyed the series as a whole.

Zenith's Legacy
(The Zenith Series, #4)
Leanne Davis

Kathy & Erics story

I look always look forward to reading Leanne Davis's novel's. When I saw The Zenith Series, I had to snag a copy to read. I was sucked into this story from the very start when the hero & heroine first met. Heroines had one embarrassing introduction when she meet the hero. This pair of opposites had major chemistry. The storyline & characters made for an easy read. The compassion, patience & understanding between the characters had me falling head over heels in love with the characters especially Eric James. Kathy and Eric's story is the first book I've read in this series. I'm looking forward to reading Zenith In Love next.

Lots of inner voice

Great plot, delivery was difficult for me. A huge percentage of the book is inner voice/thought. This made the book very long and then I would get confused. A character would say something and then that was followed by lots of inner voice, such that when the other character responded, I had forgotten what was previously said or asked.

So, this made it hard to follow along. I also got confused as to who said what during dialogue so I didn't know which character was talking.

Sad because the characters were interesting and the story has great potential.
I received a free copy of this book and I voluntarily reviewed

I had some difficulty connecting with Kathy. She was a tad fickle and judgmental at first, but Jim became a favorite. This author seems to have a talent for making me really like secondary characters more than the main couple. And Jim definitely falls into that category. He felt like a truly nice, real, down to earth guy who didn’t harbor resentment or anger about a whole lot. Eric was another character I enjoyed because he tried to do the right thing and almost lost everything doing it. But Jim? Yeah, Jim was the best part of this book.

Kathy the step-daughter of a Rock Star is shy and not talkative. Engaged to a pastor, she follows orders and does as she is told. But things change for her when she meets Eric who installs a security system for her parents compound. The interaction between them changes when he becomes her body guard. Her feelings change and she is interested in Eric, still engaged to the pastor. The book is good and exciting. I hate to spoil it but I love her books. Kathy changes once she is around Eric with her new feelings, from a shy, inward person, to a more talkative person.

This was another solid offering from this series! Kathy is the daughter of a rock star legend. Eric is the bodyguard hired to protect her. These two are complete opposites but are attracted to each other. Their journey to happiness was an emotional one and worth reading. I really enjoyed getting to catch up with others in this series.

Thank you for the privilege of reading this book! Well done ❤️

Book 4 of the Zenith series does not disappoint the reader. It's amazing how Leanne Davis can continually create characters that feel so real and authentic, she is truly a talented author. Eric and Kathy seem to be as different as night and day but in her typical style Ms Davis brings them together in a remarkable story. It's pretty easy in this story to pick out who the next book in the series will be about and I'm looking forward to reading it as soon as it's available.

I love all things Leanne Davis.
This book did not disappoint.
Even though, technically the love story is about Kathy and Eric... I really loved Jim.
The Zenith series has been an incredible ride since book 1, and I am so glad there is more to come, more stories to tell, hopes to dream, and tears to cry.
My favorite line, really sums up this book -
“......grabbed her guts and twisted them all up”
THAT’S what Leanne Davis brings to the table.

Ah. Love Leanne Davis books. And this one does not disappoint. Has drama and real life struggles on top of being rich and famous even if it’s not wanted by her. The opening scene was funnily awkward and it keeps you wanting more from the book and you get it. As always great character development and great story line.

I really enjoyed this one. I kinda liked how Kathy's life was opposite of Rob's. She was content in living a spiritual life. I liked how her and Eric's relationship ebbed and flowed. It definitely was far from perfect, but they both brought something unexpected to each others' lives. Can't wait to see what book 2 has in store

I was given a free copy of this book for an honest review. I really enjoyed Zenith’s Legacy! The romance was a little slow to start, but considering Kathy’s religion, it isn’t surprising. Even without heat in the beginning of the book, I was hooked and couldn’t wait to read more. This was such a good book, where the characters were completely themselves and weren’t ashamed of it. Read it!!
