The 18th Edition of this classic, world renowned textbook, which together with Ten Teachers in Obstetrics, provides comprehensive coverage of this important specialty for undergraduates and beyond. With Ash Monga now as leading Editor, and a largely new team of contributing authors, this new edition builds on the book's strengths, combining authoritative detail with a clear guide to essential knowledge, while incorporating the latest advances in the field. Great care will be taken to ensure structure, style and level of detail are consistent across both volumes providing the reassurance students require that they need go no further than this text. Where appropriate, chapters will be structured according to a consistent format (Overview, Definition, Prevalence, Etiology, Clinical features, Differential diagnosis, Investigations, Treatment, Key points, New developments, references), and illustrative case histories with 'Discussion points' will be provided throughout. In line with new curricula biomedical science underpinnings will be integrated within clinically orientated chapters.
I really liked this book. However, I felt some of the information was all over the place. I had to look through many places to come up with a concise picture. Additionally, there are some things they could add more but overall it’s a really great book for doctors and students alike.
This is the ideal book to study for undergraduate gynecology, it's a fairly short book, without the unnecessary and annoying details! It contains the most important problems, all simplified.. Most of the classifications and differential diagnosis and drugs are simplified in tables. I loved it, I actually enjoyed studying... And i recommend it to all undergraduates.. Especially for the clinical sessions.
An easy book; but only very few topics are filled with sufficient knowledge, otherwise there is a huge deficiency in the basic knowledge that a medical student should know during his GYN rotation..
