This book is a very cute tale about a dragon feeling different and learning about diversity. I think this is a really good book to bring into the classroom. At a young age many kids probably question why people look different then them or feel different than everybody else but it’s those differences that make everyone so unique and special in their own way. It’s like a snowflake, everyone one of them is different and using a cute little dragon to tell the story is even more cute. The art is very cute as well although the art work reminds me of the captain underpants books that I would see in the library or store the book fair.

I loved the summary & reviews on Amazon so recently bought for a shower gift. Couldn't help reading before I wrapped. I really liked it. Seemed to be written to engage children w/ the appreciation of differences & diversity making a great story & great illustrations that would appeal to kids. Also gave me some ideas on how to talk to younger children about this topic.

I liked the message, MOSTLY. Two problems I noted:
1. The kid eating rice was named ping and the kid eating tortillas was name Juan. Stereotyping much??
2. Harmon showed boys and girls only doing “boy” and “girl” stuff. I would’ve liked to see a boy playing with a baby doll and a girl playing with the blocks.

Excellent

Books like this are so informational for children and hold such a wealth of knowledge. I really enjoy reading books, like this one and many others to my children, for if you start them young then they will grow to have a love for reading and adventure!
