Sabotage

Originally published as SABOTAGE, THE CONSCIOUS WITHDRAWAL OF THE WORKERS' INDUSTRIAL EFFICIENCY, in October, 1916, by the IWW publishing bureau, in Cleveland, Ohio. It was later withdrawn from the IWW's official litearture. The pampahlet originally sold for 10 cents.

About the author

A labor leader, activist, and feminist who played a leading role in the Industrial Workers of the World (IWW). Flynn was a founding member of the American Civil Liberties Union and a visible proponent of women's rights, birth control, and women's suffrage. She joined the American Communist Party in 1936 and late in life, in 1961, became its chairwoman. She died during a visit to the Soviet Union, where she was accorded a state funeral.

I listened to this audio-style, courtesy of Audible Anarchism, and I’m very glad I did. While an older and classic work, it has very good and poignant views on the act of sabotage by the workers against upper percentile.

While I was already pro-sabotage, this work presented aspects I hadn’t thought about, from motivations behind it to the actual way sabotage can be carried out. It’s not a long read/listen, I would highly recommend it.
