This is the second installment in the Vienna Trilogy (and another book in the Orchid Club series), so I knew this would end on a cliffhanger, but wow!!
From the opening pages of this story, we are aware that Alena isn’t exactly who she wanted Alexander to believe she is, and Alexander wants answers. He proposes an unorthodox “bargain”, and Alena seems caught between a rock and a hard place. I felt this book was a bit lighter on the intrigue, and a lot heavier on the BDSM (emphasis on the SM) than Vienna Betrayal.
The game Alena began playing becomes all too real. Due to events in Vienna Betrayal, Alexander feels he has been wronged by Alena, and his anger is all-consuming. I fell in love with both characters in VB, but it was, honestly, a bit harder to take Alexander in this book. I was feeling quite stressed during the BDSM scenes between the two. That being said, I’m still all in for the final installment.
This story had me on the edge of my seat, and I cannot wait for Vienna Bliss!!
