This is the continuation of Monster Empire, Fantasy-harem series, Volume 2, with 400+ pages and 21 chapters (each chapter has 20+ pages which allows for enough character and story development). The thing is, this volume 2 did not bring anything new to the original story.
Ken Jewel, main character is teleported to this alternate reality world with a special ability to bond with monsters, this is of course not to make "friendships", but to actually breed and have sexual relationships with monsters. So this volume 2 increases his harem with a dwarf-girl, that specializes in construction and trap creation and brings the human family (Torrance, the farmer, his twin sons and his daughter that first met him when he arrived in this new world.
Ken has an all out war with the King of the Goblins, father in law (Nika's Dad). So it is kill and conquer or die for Ken, his family-harem, and his human friends...
With his wives, his friends and his children, this author pretends that Ken Jewell, will have enough to conquer this other world. So "bonding" is the main plot arc and conquering this new world is the ultimate goal. I imagine that somewhere down the line, figuring why he was teleported and see if it is possible to return to Earth will also open up for him.
This is still a straight forward story, with profanity especially by the first goblin son, SawSaw, but other than that all of the sex is insinuated and not underlined or stressed. It still needs to change up and include other factors to make this story exciting and entertaining...

This was a nice sophomore effort for the Monster Empire series. You are able to see the development of Ken Jewels family, with the further growth of SawSaw and the introduction of Abby the siren to the war tribe. The new conflict is the resolution of the blood feud with Nika's father. You get to be reintroduced to Torrance and his family and see what occurred as a result of their brief interactions with Ken.
As the book progresses, Ken is able to add two new wives to the tribe and "rescues" them in very different ways. Their addition to the tribe should be beneficial for fortifications and troops but we will see how that all ends up.
The ending is typical of Monster Empire and MSE's book in general. Very exciting and action packed that allows you to rip there it and get excited for the next installment.
This is exactly what you want and hope for in this genre. Action, adventure and conquests. It doesn't try to be something it is not and if that is what you are wanting, you will not be disappointed. Bring on the next Monster Empire book.

This series, gets even more wild, violent and monstrous with a whole lot of sex and pregnancies that really sets this as an 18+ rated book to read. This was a fun read, but I really really hate the names of most of his goblin son's as they are childish (yes they name themselves, so they probably would be childish) but "Shitter"? really?? I though "Sawsaw" was bad enough. He does manage to get extra wives in this book, but at least these ones don't seem to pump kids out practically monthly like his Goblin wife seems able to. MSE's books are only available from his website and accessible via bookfunnel.com.

This book is totally missing at least a thousand more pages. I can’t wait for the next book! Hopefully I get the next kickstarter so I can get my early release book. I missed it this time and I had to wait an extra month. The problem with this author is he has too many fans and consequently it only lasted about a day or so before he reached the goal. This time I’m going to keep checking updates.

I loved this book especially his goblin wife, although there are many good characters it certainly made me laugh. It is very bloodthirsty but I think it works in this one it is good to get out of the safety bubble we live in now a days.
Keep up the good work M-S E.

Book two in the series takes up right where book one left off, with Ken expanding his monster harem in a testosterone heavy, adult, male fantasy. I mean, you kinda know what you are getting into with this series, right? It is what it is: a guilty pleasure with a lot of heart.

The only disappointment I had was when it came to an end. Cannot wait for the next book so I can continue to enjoy this story.
Loved it. :)

The story continues some time later. I liked the story knowing what type of story it is.

A Sequel that raised my opinion of the series
This has a little more of what I liked in Monster Empire 1, and less of what I didn't like.
Right out of the gate, if saw saw was getting on your nerves, he's a more rounded character here. I also like the slower addition of wives to the harem. A major problem with harem books is the tendency to just start adding wives all willy nilly, 2 or 5 at a time. MSE does not do that.
Wile there is more gore here, there is also more heart. This book has people who care about each other and you usually don't find that in books with naked monster girls.

*Reread 2 years later. MSE tries to invoke an "Adams Family" vibe, with the creepy but lovable shtick that nearly lands. Sadly the scenes of animal mutilation and human torture were a bit too much to pass off as comedy, or to keep the "...but lovable" credentials.
*Secondly, MSE loves to do the dithering hero routine. I don't know if it has an official name. Where the damsel is in trouble, let's say she's tied to the tracks and a train is coming, and just as the hero is about to leap into action, he stops do some unnecessary thing like; bake a pie, or get a haircut, or explain the 4 different kinds of knots used in a rappelling harness. This activity (pie, haircut, or long shaggy-dog explanation) is dramatically exaggerated to cause the audience heightened anxiety imagining the train bearing down on the helpless damsel. What ever you call this gag, I'm not a fan and thought it was over used, but I must concede that it did add to the air of light comedy (a la Adams Family) that keeps this book from getting too heavy or serious.
