"Why don't I want a normal relationship?"Told in multiple POV, Gold Mine is another action pack passionately charged creative work by Skye Warren. Once again, the tension between the main characters is complex and the passion is smoking hot. In addition to the conflict between Holly and Elijah, the stakes are high for Adam Bisset who also has his heart and soul invested in this game.
"Maybe soul mates aren't only for good people. Maybe bastards like me get one, too."Overall, Gold Mine will appeal to readers who enjoy a darker romance with intrigue, complex characters, and a seriously broken hero. As always, Skye Warren never disappoints.

You can pretend you’re disgusted with me when I make you come so hard you see God.
...I take what I want. It doesn’t have to be more complicated than that, Holly.”
“Have you heard of dating?”
He gives me a small, private smile. “This is better. I don’t want to ask you out. I don’t want to give you the illusion that you can say no, Holly. You’re mine.”

When you’ve lived long enough in the dark, it begins to feel like home.

"I can't hold her captive. I can't let her leave. The contradiction is tearing me apart."
"She should know that I'll hurt her. It's inevitable. As inevitable as finding her. She's my prey, and I"m her monster."Is he really, though? I'm not sure if he's the monster he says he is. I know Holly loves him, as evidenced by the truly awful cliffhanger. And now I'm left with lots of questions, the main being "WHY?!?!?" Yes, there's a freaking cliffhanger, which I knew because this is a trilogy, but I'm still kinda freaking out because I can tell that Holly and Elijah have barely scratched the surface of not only his layers, but of their relationship, and of the craziness going on around them.
