Cute little story about the making of dinosaur toys for Christmas. I love that it actually has pronunciations and descriptions of the different dinosaurs. The story, however, was a little boring. 3 stars

The pictures in this book are quite attractive and eye-catching! The story itself is a bit flat, but overall a child would appreciate it.

Any kid who loves spouting dino-facts will appreciate the budding paleontologist in this story. The flat, scribbly illustrations aren't especially enchanting, however.

Dinosaurs' Christmas was a fun, dinosaur-themed Christmas story with simple, colorful illustrations. My 4-year-old liked it.

This book was published in 1991. It tells the tale of a boy and his dog, Bones, who have quite an adventure when they meet a dinosaur who needs help - it seems that Santa and his elves are making dinosaurs all wrong! Together the dinosaur and boy help the elves make corrections and then go on to save Christmas - all the reindeer have the flu and so the sleigh is pulled by dinosaur and half a dozen of his close friends. There are quite a few proper dinosaur names in the text (consult the glossary in the back of the book BEFORE reading it out loud) and a simplicity to text and illustrations that books of this era possess. It was a nice contrast to some of the other books we read with wild text and even wilder illustrations.

This is a fun book that combines Christmas and dinosaurs, tow fun topics for children. It has some interesting facts about dinosaurs that are fit into the story quite nicely. Our girls liked this book, but I would guess that it would be preferred by boys.
