Scarlet Davis, ex-submissive, was content with her life between working as a programmer and dating a gorgeous six-foot-two golden-haired lumberjack she met on a Tinder date gone right. That is until she ran her car into a dog by accident. A dog which overnight turned into a naked man named Lucas who then proceeds to inform her that he is a wolf, not a dog. Now she is spending every waking moment trying to forget such a thing is even possible.
But when her so-called relationship with the noncommittal golden boy-cum-Dominant takes a turn for the worse and fate refuses to let her forget the werewolf who also happens to be a Dom, Scarlet must decide if the big bad wolf is the real antagonist. Because in a story like this, it's never just her heart on the line.
The Midnight Retellings Collection consists of re-imaginings of fairy tales and other stories as modern adult romances with D/s and power dynamics flavours.
P. Stormcrow grew up with a love for love and somehow that turned into authoring contemporary and paranormal BDSM romances. Fierce women and sensitive men fill her stories while she examines social norms and challenges conventional tropes of the genre through her craft. She is the recipient of the 2021 inaugural Good Sex Awards in the category of Erotic Touch. Born in Hong Kong and raised in Canada, she enjoys writing about both cultures.
In addition to being an author, she is also a techie, a graphic designer, a mother, a lover, a fighter and a little bit of everything else in between. When she's not typing away madly on her phone and running into poles, she enjoys copious amounts of tea, way too many sugary treats and as many sci-fi / fantasy / paranormal TV shows as she can sneak in time to watch.
I loved this book it was the perfect balance of everything a good book needs. There was a shy yet strong willed heroine. Our sexy leading man who's also a werewolf with a pantymelting accent. And no good book would be complete with out the scum but I'll leave those details for you to read about. Sometimes paranormal can be over the top and the story gets lost. But when reading P. Stormcrow's books I never feel like the story gets lost or the Paranormal takes over the balance is always there it makes her work really enjoyable to read. I wished it were longer but that is my only complaint. ❤️
This THIS is the kind of red riding hood retelling I want to see. A werewolf shifter romance. AND HES SWEET. My only issue is that I wanted it to be longer 😭. 90 pages isn’t enough I want more. I NEED MORE.
New to me author P. Stormcrow delights me with her retelling of Little Red Hood. Erotic nods to faery tales always catch my interest. Kinky and sweet, I am definitely adding this author to my list for reading.

I enjoyed this book. I enjoyed how the red riding hood story was sprinkled throughout the novel. The red hood from the event and the red hoodie. Granny showed up along with the “big bad wolf”. The main character’s name, Scarlet, alone was a nod with the nickname “Red”. These characters were well rounded and memorable. I know little about this genre or the subject of submissive, some things I have an issue which could be a genre or subject thing.
There are a few things I wished were different. The story is too short, 9 Chapters plus an epilogue. And I still wanted more. I don’t mind short chapters, but I loved this story and wanted more, which is great right. For myself, I felt as if the story in the first 2 chapters were fast, and the tempo and story didn’t match until the third chapter. It is as if the writer wanted to hurry and get to the main storyline.
I felt the relationship between Scarlet and Derrick wasn’t realistic because of how the story opened. I wouldn't have been bothered if maybe it was a mention how they met, not necessarily a flashback but a jump in on the relationship instead of just met then they act like they have been together for months. But I don’t know if it is the subject of submissiveness as again, I am not familiar with that world. Maybe another chapter or a few more dates before bringing in the sideways relationship. I loved how the relationship between Scarlet and Lucas developed and wished we got a little more of Lucas, maybe an extra chapter about a few days or weeks after the end incident before the epilogue. I think it’s mainly because I want more lol.
I recommend this book if you want a short, well-written story. I read it in one sitting, and I am not a fast reader. The balance between paranormal and romance is written well. I like twists on fairytales and this one I will read again.
I tend to avoid this genre. I have an issue with the way consent is portrayed a lot in these types of “alpha wolf shapeshifter” things. It seems to be a lot of the attitude of “she is my mate no matter what, and I will scarily persue her until she gives in”. It’s deeply unpleasant to me. There’s also an element of the woman seeing her “mate” as a wolf and being ok with that!? Uh no. I’d be terrified! Not turned on. So I just avoid that whole thing, don’t read, don’t give bad reviews on books I KNOW are not meant for me and leave them for the people who do enjoy them.
NOW THAT IS OUT OF THE WAY!
I loved this. There was still the element of being chased here, on a couple of sides which I will not go into. Scarlet was not a typical damsel in distress, she did know when she needed help. She had a lovely tongue in cheek humour. She’s intelligent, and I liked her. The other characters were well written and compelling. I liked the lore written in, and wanted more! I’m also grateful for a kink positive slant. Yes, horrible people in the kink scene exist. They are cruel and damaging. This is not BDSM this is abuse, and this isn’t the place to discuss it so I will stop!
Bottom (haha a kink pun there) line is I wasn’t a fan of these books, now I’ve read a good one, I would read another by this author!
Picked this one up because a) I'm researching erotica to see how far I want to go in my own novels; b) paranormal romance intrigues me; and, c) werewolves are my new favorites now that vampires have been done to death (or, undeath, you might say). And, it's usually fun seeing where an author takes you when tackling a classic fairy tale. I was happily surprised to discover P. Stormcrow is a talented writer with a gifted imagination, both necessary to have when carving out a place in the literary world. The characters are well-written and memorable. Scarlet is a relatable heroine and I fell in love with Lucas at first "sight". The only shortcoming, and I won't even call it a complaint, was that it seemed a bit short. If you want a quick read, then that's great, but I like more of a story; I like to spend more time in the world the author creates. So, I guess, either way, the length of the book could be seen as a positive: a fast read that left me wanting more. The erotica? *shrug* Stormcrow does a good job there. It's not necessarily my thing or not my thing, but this book did set a bar that I'm not sure I want to tackle right now in my own work. Still, I will be adding more of P. Stormcrow's work to my bookshelves.
Definitely not the version of Little Red Riding Hood I grew up with but definitely the one I prefer. The storyline follows the same premise, there's still a beautiful Red, a Big Bad Wolf, and a grandma....Then there's a Fet Club, a Dom, and oh so much more. The characters were very well written and the plot was both exactly what you'd expect and then the moments of "Wow!" that took it to some other place. I loved that it was a short story because it was fun, fast, full of everything you could want in a book. I hated that it was a short story because I probably could've lived in Scarlet and (no spoilers here) her partners world for a little longer. Would fully recommend it to someone looking to get their toes wet (pun intended) in this genre. If you're already a fan of this genre, what are you still doing here?! Go get the book! Looking forward to more books and more P. Stormcrow.
Scarlet Davis' best friend has set her up with online dating, and it looks as though it could be going very well when she meets a handsome lumberjack Dom. Yet he proves not so reliable, and to make her life worse, she accidentally hits a dog with her car. She nurses it overnight and it turns out to be a gorgeous werewolf. But can she trust the big bad sexy wolf or should she run away?
A tantalizing quick read that is deliciously thrilling. Scarlet is a shy submissive that is immediately likable with brains and spunk. I was immediately enchanted by the big bad wolf. I'd play nurse for him any day! A nice light introduction to BDSM and plenty of tension. I gobbled this up and I can't wait for more from this author.
P Stormcrow is a new author to me so imagine my surprise when I found 'Bound by Red', the first book in her "The Midnight Retellings Collection". This is a quick, easy read, which is both good and bad, with characters that were totally relatable and a storyline that was fun, emotional, and kinky!! This version of Little Red Ridinghood's story is definitely not the one I grew up with but certainly will keep in my library now that I'm an adult! Because it's a short story I don't want to give anything away but if you enjoy this genre then you will absolutely want this book as part of your collection. I loved that it was such an easy read and yet I hated to see it end, it was that good.
This was a super read full of action with plenty of suspense once I got into it I could not put it down there was plenty of twists to keep me reading and on the edge of my seat. I really enjoyed the story and would definitely recommend it

P. Stormcrow is one of my absolute favorite erotic romance authors. I’ve read a few of her other books on wattpad. This is the first one I bought through amazon and it was worth the money. What’s interesting about P. Stormcrow’s work is that her stories are almost a deconstruction of the bdsm genre. Her stories are educational, especially this one, where the main love interest and antagonist each serve to illustrate what a good dom and bad dom look like. Being a submissive does not mean giving up your boundaries or doing anything you aren’t comfortable with. Just as in ‘The Will to Serve’ we are shown examples of abusive doms. Now, I’m not involved in the bdsm lifestyle. I’m just your average creepy lady :P but from what I’ve read on r/bdsm it does seem like abuse is a problem in the bdsm community, due to a combination of true sadists presenting themselves as doms and wet-behind-the-ears submissives who don’t know it is okay for them to have boundaries. Becoming a sub does not mean giving up all of your power and autonomy. I LOVE that pixie uses her stories to educate on these important issues. Erotica can be meaningful and impart an important message, just like any other genre and Ms. Stormcrow proves that in her stories. Her stories also have such loving and sweet dynamics between the dom and sub. None of that nasty, yelling and shaming Christian Grey stuff. All of pixies male leads are sweet, kind, and gentle. Nothing is pushed on the female protagonist. Rather, the female lead owns her sexuality and wants to submit just as much as the man wants to dominate.
The only real complaint I have about this book is that it doesn’t work as a retelling. Some bits are clever. Like the MC’s red hoodie, the male lead being a werewolf, and the MC going to the hospital to visit her sick grandma. Clever! But overall this is the loosest of retellings. For one, the wolf is not the antagonist in this. I wanted to see how the grandma being eaten was going to work out...but that didn’t happen. I mean...it is a loose retelling. Maybe I’m being unfair. I guess I like a retelling to stick to the main plot beats if the original.
And then pixie’s sex scenes really aren’t for me. But that’s a personal thing and I can’t fault her for it. A lot of it just goes beyond anything I’d ever find appealing. The thing is, the story has far more romance than smut, so even if nipple clamps are t your thing, you might still find this a highly enjoyable read. I know I did!
I’ll be a fan of pixie’s for a long time, I’m sure. She’s doing some exciting things in the bdsm erotic romance genre and I can’t wait to see what she comes up next.
Pssst! Pixie! Write a time travel romance! My gosh, if this lady started writing full-length historical romance novels, I’d eat it up so fast! :)
Wow.. That's all I can say... 😳😳😳 This might be a short story but it lacks Nothing... There's mates, doms, subs, fighting, jealousy and even more. Don't miss out on this one. I don't wanna to much more because I'm afraid I'll give something away.
I don’t usually read paranormal books with shifters/Wolves, however I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The storyline and characters were very well written. Scarlet being a shy, yet strong willed woman, made her the perfect heroine. I highly recommend this book, and I am looking forward to reading more soon from P.Stormcrow.
This was a great take on Little Red Riding Hood. I loved the story and the characters. Both are well written and keep your interest. I definitely recommend reading.

This is an amazing sexy, hot read. You will love Lucas and Scarlett. Their heat burns off of the pages. The Alpha Wolf is gonna make you purr. P. Stormcrow is a fabulous writing who draws you into the story. Once you start reading this you will not be able to put it down. Must, must, hot to the touch fiery read.
Where do I start in this story! This story was my favorite introduction to P. Stormcrow and I was amazed I relatable this story was to me.
Lucas and Scarlet are one of my favorite characters from this author, besides I love anything werewolf I think is was a unique touch and I love it.
Scarlet who is trying to find herself and finds herself a tall glass of Lucas. This two bring out the best of each other without knowing they are. The best version of Red Riding Hood written.
Ms. Stormcrow is a new to me author. This is a fantastic book. If you need a quick read on your break this is the book I would recommend!! I can't wait to read more by this highly talented author.
“Bound by Red” is a fun love triangle story of the good guy with a bad side and a dangerous-looking guy who has a heart of gold. I loved this twist o Little Red Riding Hood. What’s more, this is an important book for those who desire a dominating partner but are currently unattached. Scarlett’s choices represent a true partner who plays the dominant in their play and the other guy is controlling and abusive. Since 50 Shades of Grey came out, there have been some grey areas (pun intended) on whether a boyfriend is dominant or abusive. This needs to be addressed in erotic books and “Bound by Red” does just that. As a bonus, the message isn’t preachy at all. It is packaged in a sexy, fast-paced story with a main character you want to find love from page one.
Off my soapbox and into the book! Scarlett is a computer programmer, and I loved the accurate portrayal of the profession. There are so many programmer stereotypes, but Scarlett is a normal woman who likes computers. Imagine that! She meets Derrick while online dating and on paper, he seems perfect. However, she is confronted with a dark-haired stranger in a coffee shop who sets her on fire. The author’s descriptions were so luscious, I was swooning next to Scarlett. I would have chased him out of the coffee shop! Once the reader gets to know him (sorry no spoilers here), he goes from gorgeous to SWOON-WORTHY. Yes, all caps.
I highly recommend this book. Not only did I enjoy reading it, but I found it important for those who are curious about “the scene”.
This was an interesting take on the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale. I enjoyed that the author wrote Scarlet, Little Red Riding Hood of the story, as a smart, strong woman instead of the usual awkward, trip over everything heroine that is so commonly seen in this type of book. Lucas, the wolf of the story, was such a nice man too! He gave Scarlet space and let her do her own thing while he waited for her to come to him after absorbing all the information he sprung on her. So refreshing to see that, along with him being a doctor instead of a rich billionaire or a biker. G-Ma was a cute addition to the book as well to complete the Little Red Riding Hood cast of characters. I honestly gave this book an entire star based solely on it being so different.
There was only one sex scene in the book and I thought there would be more but overall, it was a fun little read. I will definitely pick up another from this author.
I thoroughly enjoyed this read from the first page. I honestly didn’t know what I was about to read and I am glad I didn’t because it made it so much better. This was literally one of the best BDSM reads I’ve read in a long time. I highly recommend this read to anyone who likes an easy, well written, hot BDSM short story that leaves you wanting more.
This one was easy to read and interesting enough. I liked the werewolf and that he knew she was his mate but didn't try to claim her while she was with the other guy. Other guy was a douche I'm glad she got rid of. Was not expecting the action at the end and loved it. Plus it's super steamy for a 100 page book, so if you're into that, you'll likely enjoy it. There were a few typos after the midway point but they were easily overlooked.
I loved this reimagining of a classic tale. It’s steamy, sexy and the perfect read when you need to escape into a fairytale with a twist. I’m now excited to read the rest of the collection. One thing I love about the characters are their interactions and the power and strength behind submitting and being themselves.
This Little Red Riding Hood retelling was so good. My only "complaint" is it was too short of a story of love to read more of Scarlet and Lucas. I love that the lumberjack really was the "villain" of this story.
A different kind of retelling of Red Riding Hood. It's so good and hooks you in at the beginning. Lots of action, steam, suspense and a twist or two. I loved reading.
