Robert Maxwell’s quite a legend among thieves, I understand. He killed himself in 1991 to avoid being brought to justice. COWARD! Still, while he lived, he was a real tyrant and snake. This is an incredible book. It just blew me away how many people could be so blind to this monster’s deadliness. Charisma to spare – the guy could’ve created his own cult. I guess, in a way, he did. Even after his death and the grievous aftermath, there were people (wealthier than the Joe Public) who STILL believed Maxwell had meant well. Perhaps, given his overinflated sense of worth and importance, he thought he was doing the right thing. Wherever he is now, I’m sure he’s doing time; not just for suicide, but for cheating millions of dollars out of hundreds of people.

Read this book as I wanted context and background to the current state of the world 😬😳
In short it alleges, with a book full of detail, that Robert Maxwell (father of Ghislaine Maxwell) was one of the most important Israeli spies to have ever lived.
His family were Jews wiped out in the Naxi regime after he’d left his country. The book suggests this was a driving factor in his life goal of protecting Israel and creating a homeland for Jews.
His biggest help - selling across the world to intelligence services the Promis software which had a trapdoor in it so that as security/ intelligence services spied on people, the Israelis could see what they were looking for. It alleges he was eventually murdered because he got involved too much with organised crime as his finances struggled.
Who knows if it’s true but it seems pretty well researched with lots of well connected sources.
If true ….how’s his daughter connected? What’s going on at the moment in world politics and is this connected?
I found this a griping and eye opening read and may go back to more old books for a greater understanding than what you read on TikTok!
