ONE MIND-BLOWING MELT DOWN!!! Holy hell! If you're looking for something a little different, a refreshing spin that keeps you on pins and needles in the best of ways, all the alpha male dominance you can handle and plenty of action to keep you balancing a razors edge. Congratulations my friends you've stepped off in it chin deep. Blasting the boundaries and eradicating the lines, limitations are stretched and manipulated, kicking this baby into overdrive, blowing it into a hissy with astonishing results, testing our characters in ways they could have never imagined. Coiled, knotted and tightly woven, displaying the explosive ups and agonizing downs, grounding in it's simplicity and awe inspiring in it's depth. Shenanigans, escapades and havoc run amuck, rousting the drama, anxiety, intrigue, turmoil, revelations, danger, mounting suspense and unnerving situations along with a boatload of secrets, you have one mind-blowing masterpiece. Bearing the load and towing the line, delivering one high octane, adrenaline pumping, white hot, page flipping block buster, wrapping this baby up sleek, shiny and tight. The characters are complex and authentic with qualities and traits that blend and flow, adding depth, transforming into genuine charismatic personalities. The scenes come alive wonderfully with such abundant details and descriptions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Remarkable job Lexy, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.
If you like mafia romances, you'll love this book. Savage starts the Darkest Night Series off with a bang. I loved Mia and Gabe's story. Talk about a fast-paced story with lots of action, this book has it all. Mafia bosses, bodyguards, shootings, passion, explosive chemistry, and lots of danger. Beware once you start reading you'll find this book hard to put down. A great read with a well-developed script and complex characters. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to review it
Read this in the middle of the night in one sitting because of, well, insomnia. And nothing says "I'm def going to resolve this insomnia!" like a mafia romance book at 1am, right? Please tell me I am not alone on this theory...
It wasn't the worst but, wasn't the best as in earth shattering..for me, anyway. The story seemed simple and easy going, possibly even predictable. Could've used some more tension building moments between the main characters but, can understand that being sacrifice for moving the story forward, but the main characters finally 'collide' it seemed abrupt and a bit out of the blue. Especially when it was drilled in repeatedly about how long the Gabe had been with the family, I couldn't connect everything together fully.
This is the first Mafia romance book I've read too and, for a quick read in the middle of the night, I overall approve. I know there is a whole world of this genre out there to explore as well!
I wasn't sure what to think of this series. I went into it thinking I was going to be reading Smutt with no plot. Little did I know I was going to get swept up in this mafia story. Who knew mafia stuff would tickle my reading fancy?
I loved that Mia wanted to prove herself. It was so relatable being underestimated and sheltered. I think we all can sympathize with that in some way.
Right off the bat, my blood was boiling over any family that would "use" their daughter to distract someone for their gain. This had me just disgusted with her father.
Then in comes the bodyguard to save the day. Intrigued right away. The way I can tell you I was instantly curious about how this protective bodyguard would develop over the series. Chefs kiss to this man.
I was on the edge of my seat while navigating the trials and tribulations they go through as Mia is the daughter of Vincenzo Romano, one of the most powerful mafia men in the city.
If you are looking for an easy read with some spice and excitement this is a nice short series that will sweep you away. Definitely will be reading other series from this author.

Lexy Timms is the reason I grabbed this listen and I am so glad I did. A great start to to is mafia series, we are introduced to Gabe and Mia. Mia is the beautiful daughter of Gabe's employer. Being part of the family for years, Gabe has watched Mia, and now hearing what her father has in store for her has this enforcer ready to take action. He is going do what he needs to, keeping her safe. But will the attraction between them cause a problem? Danger, explosive chemistry, famiy deception, and love that is real and true. A fantastic start to this mafia series and I can't wait for more.
Christopher Solon brings this gem to life. I love his alpha dom voice for Gabe. He makes the protective man strong, yet tender. And he easily flows to Mia and lets us follow her feelings through his emotional portrayal. I enjoyed his perfromance and look forward to book 2.
Savage is a wonderfully written steamy mafia romance and a fantastic start to the Darkest Night Series. The premise is engaging, and the storyline is fast-paced, suspenseful, action-packed, exciting with explosive passion, and has loads of steam. Mia and Gabe are great characters, and their story completely captured my attention. The connection and chemistry between them are explosive and electrifying.
Excellent narration Christopher Solon, portraying the characters and their connection very nicely. Overall, Savage was an enjoyable and entertaining listen, and I'm definitely looking forward to the second book in the series.
How far will a mafia princess go to defy her father so she can play a significant part in the family. Mia Romano wants to be treated like her brother and expects to mingle among the powerful in the city, even though danger to her family is always present. Her father gives in to her wishes and allows her to attend an important dinner party, but he assigns Gabe to watch over her. There are sparks between the two of them and, when danger finally shows its face, they have to go on the run. There are many different storylines beginning in this first in the series, and Savage ends in a mild cliffhanger.
Mmmmm I’m not 100% on this one. The male narrator does all parts and I just can’t get my head around the fmc in more ways than one. I can’t picture a bombshell female when the narrators voice is so low and doesn’t really change between male and female voices.
I don’t understand how someone can want to be part/more involved of a crime family but doesn’t like violence. You either want to stay away from it. Be ok in the shadows or find a backbone so you can get involved.
Fmc is too naive and fragile for me and my tastes therefore I couldn’t enjoy this book 🤷🏼♀️ sorry! 2.5 stars. Just not for me.
Great start to a new series! The author brings strong ,well developed and realistic characters in Gabe and Mia and weaves a slow build romance with an undeniable chemistry. It's a great mafia romance filled with tons of action and danger , is well written with vividly painted scenes , moves fluidly and is a fantastic read. I'm looking forward to the next book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I was very tempted to get the next book in this series, but the jury’s still out.....maybe. I was hoping there was a box set, because they’re cheaper to buy, but I couldn’t find one 😕 There’s definitely a romance building here, also some action, she’s being shot at and her father wants to sell her to the highest bidder. No mention of her mother, which is weird, or maybe it was so brief, I missed it.
Savage Darkest Night Series, Book 1 By: Lexy Timms.
Book 1 in the series. Lexy Timms wrote a very detailed book, you were able to visualize the scenes, not only by Lexi description but the way Christopher Solon tone . This story is about a Mafia Princess . The story is full of twists and turns . Mystery, full of suspense and action.
Hero is Gabe. Heroine is Mia. Grab this story and get lost in the love story
Yikes! You better hold onto your seats ladies, this one will blow you away. This story is amazing, complex characters, it’s dark, dangerous and suspenseful, and will have you on the edge of your seat. You will not be able to put this one down. This author takes you on the ride of your life into the Mafia world. I received a copy of this book.
Mia is the daughter of the most powerful mob boss. Gabe is the hired bodyguard for the family. Mia goes out with friends and Gabe is also there, but at another table. Mia almost gets kidnapped and Gabe gets shot. They go into hiding and feelings for each other develop. Mia's father wants to sell her to the highest bidder. The ending of the novel leaves you wanting to read the next installment.
Savage is a great read, of your looking for a mob story that doesn't start right in a love triangle this is it. I love when an Author builds you up for an epic story to come. What I love most as I have read many Mob stories it Mia gets a chance to own who she is without someone taking it from her. I hope that she learns how to be a bad as Enforcer we shall see.
I really loved this one. This has a lot of action, drama, suspense, and a whole lot more of mafia mayhem. Mia is the daughter of the boss and the there is Gabe who is the bodyguard for the family. Now sparks fly and the chemistry is Hot🔥! See for yourself how HOT🔥 Steamy!
The only thing I don't like is the ending, it is a Cliffhanger.
I Received ARC for the audiobook in return for honest review This is a mafia romance which the writer and the narrator did a very good job. The ending of this story is the beginning of the next installment which felt unsatisfying and unfinished .To get all the answers we need to continue the series
I have read/listened to both the author and the narrator before. I enjoy the narrator he does do a good job. there is one part in this book that the editing was cut wrong a phrase repeats itself that's just as an FYI doesn't hinder your listening experiences.
the story was good, I enjoyed how it really progressed at the end, I'm excited to see where this story is taken.
Well, you better be ready to delve into the seamy side of life with this mafia tale. It is definitely dark and gritty, but will there be any light ahead or just more sordid outcomes?
Not bad. It's a little dry in the love interest area but it's fairly well written and since this series is spread out through many books you get further along.
Mafia dark romance which I did not love, it did have spice, it did have me wanting to know what was going on and I did read #2, Vicious but I have the last 2 still waiting to be read and I will get to them as I don't really DNF but this was hard.
