Rate this book
A father pirate explains to his daughter that he loves her more than anything--even the most exciting and valuable aspects of his incredible job. This is so cute and adorable!

A father who happens to be a pirate tells his daughter how much he loves her, more than all the grub the kraken eats, more than wrestling with sharks or wearing fancy clothes, more than the plunder from a sea god's treasure is worth.

They are depicted having fun, loving each other.

I think it's rare to see love between father and daughter with just the love the center, no other plot, no other person. Also, both are dark skinned and have kinky hair. There are not enough people of colour in picture books, so seeing them depicted this way felt really cool!

Go, pick it up!
Warning: If you read this to your toddler, you might get them hooked on pirates early.

I recieved a copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.

My 4 and 6 year old really liked this story, though my 6 year old was a little concerned when it came to the part about eating eels. "You shouldn't eat eels, they will shock your tummy!" It's told in a rhyming pattern that manages to flow fairly well with only a few kind of awkward spots. All in all a cute, quick read about how much a pirate dad loves his kid. Great pacing and length for a bedtime story.

A digital ARC of this book was provided by the publisher via Edelweiss+ for review. All opinions are unbiased and my own.

What a wonderful children’s book! I got emotional with the special Dad-daughter relationship.

So much happens in a few pages. So much love is conveyed through the humorous statements by author Kyle Sullivan.
Congrats to Nicole Miles for the awesome illustations! I greatly enjoyed all the details, from the matching missing teeth to the sneaky siren.

I strongly recommend this delightful book ^^

A cute and sentimental love story from a pirate father to his kiddo. Cute and touching with funny and well thought out illustrations that are just out there enough but were lassoed in just the perfect amount. Cute book that I will recommend friends get for their baby daddies to read to their kiddos.

I mean, it's a cute concept. Would be fun for a really young kid to tell them how much you love them and introduce them to important things... like pirates.
