I enjoy HM Shander's style of writing, it is so smooth and flows so perfectly, I never want to put her books down. For this particular story, I'm having a hard time dealing with the main character, Corinne. Ten years ago her boyfriend left her and they accidentally meet again while stranded on top of a mountain. Corinne has been in therapy for years after having the love of her life up and leave her, but a night stuck on the mountain with Ales, by morning she has forgiven him for all the hurt and pain he caused and wants to get back together with him.
I understand that first loves are hard to get over, but this boy, now man caused her terrible heartache and left her when she needed him most to the point she had to go into therapy and had given up on life and still had trust issues, and ten years later he is back and begs forgiveness and she pretty much caves in.
Again, I love the author and even though I wasn't sold on the story line, I couldn't put the book down. I recommend trying the story out for yourself and drawing your own conclusions.

This is one story you definitely don't want to miss out on. I've read a few of this author's books and have enjoyed each one and this one is no different. I was expecting a fun and light read but got so much more. The story of Corinne and Alessandro is a touching tale that will pull at your heartstrings. They were deeply in love many years ago, but circumstances caused them to go their separate ways, leaving behind broken hearts. Fate brings them together again and now they have no choice but to face each other and their feelings. As the two interact, you can definitely feel the chemistry between them and all the strong feelings of all those years ago coming forth. Well-developed characters and an interesting and smooth flowing storyline kept me glued till the end. An entertaining read to be sure and I definitely recommend.

I was gifted an advanced reader's copy from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review.

I was provided an ARC for an honest review:

Whistler's Night was unexpected. When I read the blurb, I thought it would be a quick, light hearted read about an ex-couple being forced to spend the night together and the awkward and funny situations that may entail. But as the story unfolded, I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of THEIR story and the circumstances that drove them apart when they were younger. It was heart felt and sometimes a little hard to read, as pain was still so palpable from each of them. Corinne and Alessandro had shared the kind of love that is deep-rooted and sinks into the confines of your soul, not quite letting go as one would expect it would happen with the passing of time. What happens when "fate" throws them back together and they have to face the reality of what happened? The reality of who they were? The reality of how they felt when everything unfolded? Is that love still there waiting for a chance to emerge? It is a short, very good read and my 4-4 1/2 rating is due only to the fact that I would have wanted the story to be a bit longer. The passion and heat between Corinne and Alessandro was felt in the looks and words shared between them. You'll have to read to know how it all turns out 😉☺.

I found this book through Blind date with a book. Corrine is finally ready to truly move on. Today is her birthday and she has a special night planned with her boyfriend. But, first she is going to take the tram up the mountain and take some pictures. She could never have imagined she her ex who destroyed her heart up on the mountain. He doesn’t even live anywhere near her. Then things get worse. The power goes out and they must wait for the lift company to figure out how to get everyone off the mountain. Corrine finds herself stuck over night with her ex. Will this be a second chance for them or just a chance for closure? This book was an interesting read. It is about 140 pages so a short read. I liked these characters. I was unsure how I wanted to book to go. Did I want them to get back together or for Corrine to just get closure. It has been years since their break up but once I found out what happened I wasn’t sure if I could forget as quickly as Corrine did. Yes, forgive because that is for her too. I will be looking at H.M. Shander’s other books to read in the future. Wonderful job H.M. Shander.

Alessandro and Corrine were each other's first loves, but pain and youth got in the way. He followed his career path, but her life imploded into depression, and it's taken ten years to get back to a semblance of normal. Then, there he is in the same small mountain observatory near her small town home, where she has gone to take photos. The power goes out, and they are stuck there together. As the story unfolds, we see how much they still care for each other. She helps him through a panic attack. He warms her up. They talk about everything that happened long ago and understand and forgive each other. They share the sunrise.
I loved this beautiful story of redemption and hope.

This is a wonderful, feel good, second chance at love story. Corrine has spent the past ten years of her life never truly getting over the heartbreak that Alessandro caused when he suddenly walked out of her life. Now, on her Birthday she takes the gondola up Whistler’s Mountain to take some pictures and ends up stuck up there in the freezing cold all night long with none other than the guy who broke her heart all those years ago. Sweet and touching dialogue between the two throughout the night let’s the reader know of all the hurt and pain that had transpired between them all those years ago through now, and to feel the love and compassion that still remained. Heartwarming and beautifully written!

This was an interesting second chance romance.
Alessandro and Corrine were stuck on Whistler's Peak for the night, because she chose to honor his request to go down on the helicopter with him instead of her group. There was definitely more to their story. What I liked was that Corrine knew what Alessandro needed and supported him, even though they had a lot to work out. The night on the peek, let them work through their complicated past. So many interesting moments, I liked when they went outside to view the stars. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like clean second chance romances. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I received this story as part of Secret Date with a Book, put on by Francessca of Wingfield Designs on Facebook.

It is a nice quick read but with enough in it to grab my attention almost straight away. The author was able to transport me to the scene at the top of the mountain with her words. As a lover of watching the stars, sunsets and sunrises, I loved the way she was able to allow me the ability to almost see her vision in my mind as I read.

For lovers of second chance stories, and quick reads, this is a definite book you should read.

Many thanks to Francessca and the author for providing a copy.

I really enjoyed reading Whistler's Night by H.M. Shander because it was such a great story about Corrine and Alessandro. They were high school sweet hearts and their relationship ended badly. It was only after 10 years that they are in each other's presence due to an unfortunate incident. There was a lot of heartaches on the both of them that needed to be said. I loved reading this story because it was about second chances and if you ever get one, to take it. I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest opinion. I loved it and would highly recommend reading.

Corrine was heartbroken when Alessandro left her, after a devasting loss and hasn’t really moved on. Sure, she’s dated here and there, but no one has won her heart. Imagine her surprise when she finds him on the same trip as herself to visit Whistler’s Mountain. Will they reconnect or is her heartbreak too much to overcome. I won’t leave any spoilers, so grab your copy and see what happens when they get stranded together.

Alessandro broke Corrine's heart years ago. Now they're forced to spend the night together, with nothing to do but talk. I didn't expect this, but I loved it - not a kiss-and-make-up second chance story, but a talk-it-through-all-night-long, ending with her not able to forgive and forget. Their past was sad; they were so young, and he left her to deal with the situation alone. They're forced to confront their feelings about the past, with a surprise ending. I received a copy of this book from the author, and this is my honest and unsolicited review.

This is a second chance story that takes you on the emotional ride as Corrine and Alessandro by chance cross paths on the top of the mountain and the pain and hurt for the past is unburned.

I liked Corrine's character; she was strong although hesitant to commit to another after Alessandro left her the way he did. Alessandro delt with the remorse he felt of leaving Corrine as well as not going to her when she needed him.

Great story for a lazy day.

This is a second chance romance between Corrine and Allessandro. They had a bad breakup , now ten years later they meet again. The spark is still there but can she overcome and forgive him/ It's well written with tons of emotions , flows quickly and smoothly with her detailed scenes and is a great read.

She has gone off for a break and have a rest but she bumps into the last person she ever expected, her ex. He broke her heart and took it with him when he left. She hopes to leave soon until a power cut leaves them stranded. How will they deal with it? Can they face the past? Will it give them a chance of restarting their relationship? See how they get on

A great second chance romance. Corrine takes a trip up Whistler's Peak to reflex on her life and if she is ready to take her relationship to the next level. While up there she sees Alessandro her ex and the reason she never let's anyone in. At first she avoids him but then when they get stranded she gets the opportunity to get closure as she realizes she still harbors a rollercoaster of emotions for him. An entertaining clean quick story.

Could there be anything worse than being stranded on top of a mountain with your ex?

Whistler’s Night is a short, easy read, second chance romance.

Corrine wanted to photograph the scenery but instead got caught in a storm with her ex Alessandro. It is a bit of a cliché and everything magically gets fixed really quickly as this is a short book.

The characters are ok but the best thing for me was the descriptions of the scenery. If you want a short, quick read them give this a try.

Great read! Corrine was a great character, so well written. I felt for her, felt her pain and struggle, was so proud of her choices. I also liked that Alessandro expressed his feelings, baring his less-than-wonderful thoughts and actions. This was really a story of forgiveness and moving on. Loved it!

A clean sweet story of a chance meeting at Whistler, after ten years apart. Corrine and Ales story is well written and held my interest until the end. I thought the cover was cute it kind of shows the hurt she feels but also the feelings for each other that they never lost. A quick HEA read (no spoiler review). The main character is in need of a HEA and this book does not disappoint. I am guilty of not reading blurbs if a book has been recommended to me and this read was no different. It was a deeper/more serious read than I expected but one full of heart and healing. If you like a fast, sweet, heart-felt read with an HEA, it won't disappoint.

Having gone to the top of Whistler's Peak to photograph the scenery, Corrine never expects to see Alessandro, her former love who broke her heart years ago. How they survive the loss of power at the tram station and deal with their past makes for the premise of the book.
