As the Conference of the Realms convenes in London, Jinx and the gang settle into adjoining rooms at Claridge’s determined to find a way to end The Agreement segregating the In Between.

This is book 9 of the incredible Jinx Hamilton series. I have covered the other 8 books in previous reviews. I will reiterate that these should be read in order, and, although each book touches on what happened previously, you really need to read each and every one of them to truly grasp the story. It is, by far, my favorite series.

Disappointed...disappointed that I'm going to have to wait for another! These just keep getting better and better!

I'm becoming less and less happy with this series. There is, as of this book, absolutely NO character growth as far as Jinxs' witch powers go. She still hides behind everyone else when there is trouble about.
It feels as if years have passed but it has only been a matter of months -the writer makes that difficult for me to believe. Actually, with the next book after this one, I think the timeline may even be wrong...but I don't care enough to check on it.
The author also has this habit of one of my past (and mind you I mean *past* - as in I refused to continue on with her series when she started doing this) and making this book into several novellas instead of one cohesive book. I sort of blame this on the fact that there are so many main, secondary and tertiary characters now that you need a scorecard to keep remembering who is who.
I also don't like the fact (and call me crazy for this) Ms. Harper's books garner no critical reviews and the positive review almost sound as if they were written by friends and family. I know, I know -horrible of me is it not? I just find it difficult to believe that a book is soooo perfect that it gets no bad reviews.
All in all, I'm very happy I did not pay for these books (they are Kindle Unlimited books); books that had so much promise and are slowly turning meh! ) Oh and I'm happy they are short pop-corn reads.

Authors love to write series because it lets them get more return on the investment of time in creating characters and a universe. Many readers love them because they feel comfortable in that universe and view the additional books as a continuation of their exploration of that literary universe.
The downside is that sometimes authors become too formulaic in the later books. When you read them, you know what is going to happen before you're 20 pages in. They stop holding your attention. They become stale and trite.
Juliette Harper shows us that series don't have to become stale and trite. Granted, this isn't War and Peace or even The Lord of the Rings, but it is a very engaging series, written with wit and perception. If you enjoyed the "Harry Potter" series, you'll probably enjoy the Jinx Hamilton series.
I've read the first 9 books, and I am eager to keep reading them.

A reckoning
As the Shevington delegation heads to Londinium, to deal with Isherwood and Chesterfield, the Briar Hollow team have their own investigation to carry out.
Tori is left stunned when her father, Scrap Andrews, turns up at the café. Sensing something off about his appearance they realise where the Strigoi Sisters are hanging out and a confrontation is set in motion when Scrap is admitted to hospital and dies. Can Tori take them on and win?
Meanwhile, Jinx is facing her own confrontation after Barnaby is shot down with an enchanted arrow as he reacts to protect Jinx in the Chamber. Jinx is left to make the opening speech and try to get Isherwood's Agreement overturned.
As she succeeds she's attacked and it's a fight to the death for truth and justice.. can she best them with Moira and Brenna at her side?

Not Happy
Chase once a strong protector for Jinx rebranded and as a normal man and kind of a whiner. The author took a str o by character and reduced him to a second rate actor so a new actor could take over the lead. If Chase was going to give up his relationship base on not being with any one but another werecat, why would the author turn around and place him with a human femal. Isn't this the reason he was targeted and the other person Fisher had gone crazy? Tell me how that makes sense. Chase was who we settled on from the beginning then along comes a guy who isn't always available due to his job. Jinx father was a trucker which means not home alot, so why would she chose to have a family and put her own children through that with an added possibility of danger for both him and his family with revenge as a insentive?

Great
There is so much going on in this installment that it could have been two books. Many threads of the story come together for resolution, and some are surprising. As usual, the authors carry it off well and it is pretty nicely edited except for a tendency to throw commas around where none are needed. Any flaws are so minor in the face of a great story that it still makes my five star list as one of the best of its kind.

Love Jinx and her Shenanigens
I have followed Jinx from book one to here and hope there's more. It's been a wonderful journey thus far and I can't wait to continue it. The characters come alive for me, even those of less corporeal substance. Shenanigens is a good word to describe all the adventures that Jinx has had so far, as they are far from linear, but long may they continue.

My favorite in the Jinx series
If all the books in this series had as much action, and was as creative .....it would be hard to forget what made you fall in love with this series while you were waiting for the next installment. This "Harry Potter" like world ..is enough to keeping me coming back for more.

Jinx, Myrtle, Moira and the Lord High Mayor, Barnaby are in London for the Conference of the Realms, where they find a dangerous plot by a Ruling Elder.
Our heroine and her friends have another adventure fighting evil a as well as trying to right a wrong. Plus planning an unexpected wedding.

This definitely felt like part 2 to book 8 and they could’ve easily been combined into one novel. That said, there were multiple storylines going on, so I’m still waiting to see if and how they tie together. While this book wrapped up some ongoing storylines, they have left it open to pursue flashback details, which I won’t be surprised to see in the next installment.

Each one is different from the last. New characters introduced to the story fit in well. Can't wait for the next one.

Just gets better and better
This whole series has been fun to read. The story lines are fun and I especially like the references to modern tv/movie land. I would recommend this series to anyone who wants an entertaining and fun story to read.

Love this series!
Before reading the excerpt for book 11, and wisely choosing to start with book 1, I had never hear of Juliette Harper. Now she is on my list of favs! These books are awesome! I have to make myself put them down just to go to bed!

Love the series
I had to comment though - everyone seems to fall in and out of love extremely fast in these books. Saying"I love you" isn't as easy as they seem to banter the words in the last couple books.

Excellent series
I really enjoyed reading Hamilton mysteries I can't wait for the next one comes out because I finished all I really enjoyed how these books tie in for some the same facts that are used in other books of this type

Love these characters and their adventures! Very glad this book isn't left with a cliffhanger. The first chapter of the next book is included, but you choose to read or not. As it should be.
