Mandy Kocsis' SOUL SURVIVOR is a journey of one woman's pain and survival. You will find yourself breathing in every word, feeling every emotion rise and fall in your chest. You will be drawn into her world of words spilled onto the pages. Her poems are the breath you needed, but was unable to express. She brings it all to life with eloquence and a gentle touch. Her strength is a guiding light through a journey of darkness. Every poem is a layer of her soul being pulled back, revealing every wound, every scar. You will feel you are not alone, finally understood in this sometime upside down world. SOUL SURVIVOR is a compass for surviving, but is also the first step on a path to healing and finding peace.
Mandy is a warrior in bloom. A soul that has fallen into depths beyond the imagination of the average person. She evokes a great array of emotions through every single piece she has written. I feel honoured to be allowed to delve into her soul. I felt her taking my hand and pointing at every scar across her soul while reading her book. She leaves me puzzled, as I both overflow with a deep sadness for her hurt, but at the same time I feel overwhelmed with deep passion toward her ongoing strength. I admire her fierce pen, her honesty and her ability to write it down exactly the way it is. I highly recommend her work.
Soul Survivor by Mandy Kocsis is perhaps one of the best poetry books on the market today. Not only is her writing an honest portrait of her life, but I find bits of myself in her writings as well. You need this book in your collection!
Best book of poetry I've read in a long time. I refer to it constantly Mandy's words ring true, are poignant and knows exactly how to describe things. Thank you for making something so meaningful and beautiful.
Poets like to hide behind metaphors, it's not often that you find a poet with such raw honesty displayed. Heartbreakingly beautiful and exposed so that light is recognized in darkness.
The poetry in this is amazing. I don't often read poetry but I was given this book as a gift. I loved reading it and would definitely be reading this in the future.
