My review

Will they be able to see beyond the riches offered to them ...

After Mrs Aston, Mrs Denise Daye is the second author to make travel back and forth in time in the last few days.
After her last book in time travel series, she transported me back in modern time for a very different tale and not so different as it is one of a marriage of convenience, a classic trope in historical set stories.
While it is a cute romance of two childhood friends rekindling their relationship past the hurt that tore them down, it is more a tale of family’s love.
Even if he is physically present only in the first third of the book, Elijah is a shadow lurking all along, his handprint on many of the decisions they take. His love for his grandson drove him to drastic measures, with only the best intentions in mind.
Ava was Ben’s friends until being the gardener’s daughter weighted too much against Ben’s world. She did not change, he moved.
She stayed the little girl with magic in the eyes, one with a heart bigger than her whole person.
Ben became a man driven by idle pursuits. He has everything wealth can offer, but he lost himself in the way.
Something his grandfather, Elijah, realized too but not before having reached the end of his journey. So he wants to remedy to it and help his grandson before it is too late for him too.
With Ava, once he let go of his anger, he will see understand what his parent wanted him to understand.
Mrs Daye demonstrates the power of love, how beyond his grave a man can still put his mark, helping others comprehend the value of what was right in front of them.

Special mention to Lucy, I loved to hate her as much as I adored her carefree brother.

⚓⚓ONE THRILLING WHIRLWIND⚓⚓
Sensational! Denise nailed this baby with 100% on point realism, laying out one helluva storm, with all the passion, desire and sentiment, weaving threads of sanctuary, solace and belonging, binding it all together strand by strand beautifully. A roaring tempest of vexing mishaps and dubious events, observing the arduous trials and heartfelt triumphs, stumbling through the intriguing twists and wicked turns, testing our characters in ways they could have never envisioned. Entwined, entangled and tightly woven, showcasing the soaring ups and agonizing downs, breathtaking in it's simplicity and inspiring in it's depth, putting our characters through their paces, propelling this little gem to life flawlessly. Disadvantages are heightened and strengthened, laying out all the fervent facts, feels and fiascos, kicking this baby onward, breaking it down, blasting it into a tizzy with astonishing results. The magnetism, attraction and chemistry collides with such intensity, exposing profound emotions, drawing our characters closer, binding them to one another perfectly. The characters, interactions and charged atmosphere along with relatable qualities and individual traits adding depth and diversity, transforming into genuine charismatic personalities. The scenes are abundantly descriptive with colorful details that blend and flow, creating a majestic backdrop that's so rich and lively it feels like you can just reach out and touch it. Remarkable job Denise, thanks for sharing this little jewel with us.

Not half bad, this. Kind of a modern faerie tale, but still pretty believable. Slow-burn and relatively clean, so it won't work for anyone looking for smut or steam.

However, I can't stress this enough - hire an editor. The book was loaded with errors, including extra words and a lack of contractions which made the unnatural dialogue even more stilted. That was a significant distraction. The other was that the book was written in third-person omniscient, which IMO is the WORST perspective for any kind of fiction but most especially romance. It's also pretty outdated but for some reason anytime I see it used in this genre the writer is always a novice. I get that it's easier to get everyone's POV, but it is story telling and not story showing. It's impersonal and makes it hard to connect to the most important players, which are the hero and heroine. They are the only people we need to hear from. It is the writer's job to fill in the blanks another way instead of throwing every character perspective in the mix.

Nevertheless, this was a decent read. With a good editor and a bit of practice I think this writer will come into their own.

This read almost like a fairytale to me, or maybe a Disney movie. It sort of made me feel like I was reading Sabrina, which I LOVE that movie. Except more contemporary since the original Sabrina was well before cellphones ;).

Ava and Benjamin have known each other for years; Ava the gardener's daughter and Benjamin the pampered son of the rich family where Ava lived. Ava is an angel. She needs money to help her father with bills but she still is a social worker in a lower income community and is such a saint with everything she does. Even when she has to marry rich, she is still providing her support and working at the center. Which makes me love her more.

Benjamin is a total snob. There's brief glimpses of the boy he might have been but ultimately, his "status" makes him look down his nose at Ava. Until finally, his perspective has changed and that's 100% due to Ava.

A great book by a new to me author!

Inheritance With a Catch is a great read. I truly enjoyed reading this story(I received an advance reader’s copy). Ava and Ben's story, truly weaved in magic, allows one to still believe that true love exists. The story flowed easily, I was hooked, couldn’t put it down. Not sharing any spoilers, get a copy and indulge your senses.

Inheritance With a Catch is a really great read. I truly enjoyed reading this story(I received it an advance copy). Ava and Ben's story was magic all the way to the end. I read the book in one sitting that's how good the story was. The story was nicely structured all thanks to Ben's grandfather desire to help what is left of his family. I won't give spoilers but I do recommend this story. If you love a good enemy, well former friends, to lovers story this is right up your alley. It was for me.

This magical enemies to lovers start out with hatred, secrets, drama and lies, but the chemistry between Ava and Ben is palpable from the beginning. Elijah Radcliff knew what he was doing when he demanded that Ben needs to marry Ava to get his inheritance. Ava and Ben strike a deal to marry and then divorce as soon as the will is satisfied but after only a few months with uncle Barney’s interference and help they have become friends. At the end of the time they will have to decide where their feelings and paths will lead them, to a HEA with each other, or as only friends. Is 6 months long enough to fall in love and build a forever HEA or will the surprise clause in the will at the end of the 6 months trip them up? The only problem in Ava and Ben’s lives the snobbish Lucy who believes Ava is a gold digger and beneath them.

The author did a great job developing the characters and building growth and maturity all while highlighting and describing the emotions and feelings between Ava and Ben and their growing attraction to each other. I enjoyed the banter and laughter between them and I found myself rooting for Ava and Ben.

I received an ARC of this book in return for an honest review.
This is the first book I have read by Denise Daye. I enjoyed the premise of this book but what was really great was the twist. I loved Benjamin and Ava, they were such great, strong characters. Benjamin set to inherit a billion dollar fortune upon his Grandfathers death and their estate gardeners daughter Ava would be forced to marry to allow Benjamin to inherit. The two hated each other, but with all that money at stake they agreed to his grandfather’s wishes. The story was believable with a mother in law from hell too! The book flowed and I couldn’t put it down wanting to know if their relationship would survive. I would recommend for anyone wanting a lighthearted read with some twists and turns along the way.

The story, while over all sweet, was a bit lack luster. The synopsis alluded to more drama and angst than there actually was. Spice level could have been amped up a bit more as well. What actually ruined the book for me was the ending. After all the arranged marriage of convenience was said and done, Grandpa's will wanted Ava and Ben to get a divorce in order to get their inheritance - which was the opposite of the initial letter said. I thought it was a ploy to see if they choose love over money (which they did) but it wasn't a ploy. The estate went to Ben's crazy mom, who after two years had an epiphany and decides she doesn't hate low life Ava and she wants them all to be a happy family. So everyone is forgiven and moves on. Wait...WHAT?!

This is a well written book with strong, well developed characters in Ava and Benjamin. The author does a fantastic job building the story and pulled me in with all the emotions and ups and downs they encounter. I was glued to the pages with all the twists and turns throughout. The story is brought to life with her descriptive and detailed scenes as she weaves a realistic story. It moves fluidly and I enjoyed watching them find true love.

I won this book as a goodreads giveaway and this is my honest opinion. Denise Daye wrote a really good novel with a storyline that kept the reader intrigued. I loved the character Ava and learned to appreciate Benjamin. In the beginning of the novel Benjamin was completely unlikable for me and as the book continued the reader can begin to see how his character developed. I enjoyed the secondary character of Uncle Barney, I feel that he brought personality to the book. If you like a quick easy read, contemporary fiction or fiction novels I would recommend this book for you.

Delightful story of a young man with no understanding about anything other than what money can buy. His mother is totally filling her empty life with high society airs, diamonds, bitterness and snobbery. The h is a social worker who once was impressed with the H until he let her down (as children). The genius will of the H's grandfather serves to bring the H and h together and even to redeem his mother.

Well developed characters with a storyline that keeps you invested. The editing was great. A solid 5 star read.

Filthy Rich

This is a great book. But I've come to expect that from Ms. Daye.

Ava Burns lives with her father, James, in the gardener's cottage on the estate of an extremely rich family, consisting of Elijah, his daughter-in-law, Lucy, and his grandson, Benjamin. (Can you tell I've forgotten the last name?). While the billionaire family lives in luxury, Ava and her father struggle to pay the final medical bills of Ava's deceased mother.

But things are about to change. When Elijah dies, he manages to control his family -- and Ava -- from beyond the grave.

Love or Money

Elijah Cummings Radcliff was nothing short of a genius, so when he was diagnosed with a terminal illness he wanted to leave all his unattended affairs in order. The most important was his brands Benjamin. Ava was selfless she put everything above herself and her own happiness. That is until she was in the position to have wealth like she has never known. The test of love over money will come into play for these two kids. Will they take a risk of will money win out?

This story gives a whole new meaning to the phrase 'marry for money'. I loved Ava and Benjamin's story and know you will. Well written with fun characters and an entertaining story. In a way, it's an enemy to lover's story in that they couldn't stand each other as kids. Once I started this book I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting. A great love story with some twists and lots of chemistry. I read a free book via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to write a review.

Good tender romance
It's a good, simple, rather tender romance between enemies / lovers, but it does have a few twists, especially towards the end. The characters are good, but I found the female character of Ava to be a bit too perfect the whole way, especially facing an extremely snobbish and arrogant Benjamin.
On the contrary, the character of the grandfather is extremely well written and surprising.

She can't stand him and he hates her goody, goody attitude of being so much better. But his grandfather throws a monkey wrench in his will to get his money. He has to marry the one he hates. But there is a thin line between love and hate. Can these two work it out. There is lots of excitement, emotions, suspense, hot heat and so much more. I received a review copy and voluntarily review it.

What happens when a multibillionaire is a jerk? But no-one cares — after all he is RICH. But his Grandfather does care. And he leaves a will that makes him marry a poor woman! WHAT??? And they have to stay married for six months. And she has to live in the same house. And then he can have the money — and she can walk away with debts paid and lots of money. BUT his mother hates her so much she will do anything to prevent this . . . .absolutely an amazing book!!

This was such a lovely book! It was a very slow burn which I could not put down. I read it in one night. I love the writing and the story was different and just wonderful. Benjamin is going thru life living the playboy life until his grand father changes it all. Ava is the gardeners daughter a strong selfless heroin who you root for from the beginning. I love Ben and Ava they are a wonderful pair. Highly recommend this book! Buy it you will not be dissapointed.

Fix

I enjoyed this book about Ben and Ava. They are complete opposite with him being a playboy and her a social worker. They have known each other since they were kids him the rich little boy and her the servant daughter. They have an arranged marriage because of his grandfather for the period of six months for his inheritance and her mother medical bills being paid off. They don't get along, and Ben's mother is the mother-in-law from hell. Ben and Ava fall in love and don't want a divorce, but there is a catch in the will. I loved this book.

I loved this! Such a cute rom-com! It was very well-written, the plotline was good and entertaining. I just couldn't put this one down. I loved Ava and Benjamin's story. Even though it's kind of a straightforward rom-com, it still has some twists in it that makes it even more entertaining. This is really a different kind of marriage of convenience!
