Rogues #2

Enraptured

Rate this book
What’s your worst day ever? Mine is getting fired and discovering my boyfriend cheating on me in the same day.

At least I thought that was as bad as it could get.

Turns out I was wrong.

Only someone with my kind of luck could arrive at an interview for a job I desperately need and then discover my potential new boss is the guy I drunk-kissed the other night. An unsolicited—and unwanted—kiss if the way he recoiled is any indication.

I don’t expect him to offer me the job as nanny to his seven-year-old daughter. I mean, who wants a drunken harlot taking care of something so precious? Except he does. And against my better judgement, I accept the position.

He’s gorgeous and sexy and the kind of father that has my ovaries screaming. Yet to him, I might as well be invisible.

Until the night that everything changes.

Now, I’ll do anything to keep him, especially when his past comes knocking.

Another absolutely amazing story in the 'Rogues' series by the only romance author I can not get enough of!!! Oliver is a man whose trust was completely destroyed when his wife left him and their infant daughter, with no warning and no look back. An intensely hard working businessman, Oliver reworked his whole life to take care of his daughter Annie. What a wonderful father he is, always putting the little girl first, showing her a love not many can find. It has now been six years, and his Mom, who moved in and helps raise Annie, wants to take a vacation with her new man. So she is hiring a live in Nanny..And what a surprise when a girl he met a bar shows up and he almost ruins everything...
But the Nanny, Harlow, is hired and the sexual tension mounts between them...However she is loving with Annie..And has had her own problems with the opposite sex...
A story you Need to read, as life has moments of joy and then pure horror..A person shows out of the blue who may ruin any thoughts of happiness for anyone...A 5 STAR story that will have You taking a cold shower!!

Yay, I was so thrilled to receive the second book in this fabulous series. I loved Oliver's story, he's so different to Tracie's usual alpha male type heroes.

An excellent father to seven-year-old Annie, his character melts your heart.

His past is such that he no longer trusts women, thanks to his ex and Annie's mother, but when his mother announces that she's going on a cruise and he has to employ a nanny while she's away, his world is literally turned upside down.

But he's met this particular nanny before, on a cringeworthy night out...

Harlow is a fabulous character, she's had her problems in relationships in the past and is also wary of getting involved again.

Enjoy reading what happens next in this fabulous instalment. Loved it to the moon and back.

Absolutely fabulous instalment to this series.

A genuinely sweet but sexy single dad story.

Oliver’s character will resonate with a lot of single parents and endear him to a vast array of readers. He’s had it tough since the mother of his child left and even though being a single parent isn’t something he foresaw, he takes it in his stride and muddles through.

Harlow is a woman in need of a break and when an embarrassing encounter with Oliver happens, it changes her life completely.

The two of them together is a perfect combination. They have chemistry and believability and it shows across the page that relationships take work.

I adore this couple and this story. Can not wait for more from this author!

This book has warmed my heart!

What a sweet, sexy gorgeous story with two of the loveliest characters in Oliver and Harlow. These two will seriously make you swoon. There is some angst and drama too, it's definitely not plain sailing for this hot, broken when it comes to love single Dad to a delightful little girl and the nanny he is forced to employ when his mother wants to go travelling.

After his ex wife cruelly abandoned them both when Annie was a baby, Oliver's trust in women was shattered. He's an absolute sweetheart though, a protective, hands on loving single dad as well as a very successful businessman *swoon*. Harlow has trust issues too thanks to cheating exes and family who dont recognize her talents and kind, caring soul.

Their chemistry knocks them both sideways, especially after their not so auspicious first meeting haha! Their connection is not to be denied until a blast from the past rattles their new found happiness.

I love this authors writing and the diversity of her characters. Oliver is very different to most of her male leads, there's not an ounce of a-hole in him, but that makes him no less attractive, sexy and dominant where it matters. I loved him! Harlow was a determined, strong woman but with such vulnerabilities too. She has such empathy and is a natural with children, she's the type of person I'd love to call a friend.

I'm loving this series so am excited for Oliver's best friend Garen's story next. I suspect there will be fireworks with him around!

I absolutely love Tracie's books and this gentle, romantic story between Oliver and Harlow definitely shows another side to Tracie's talents. You'll fall in love with both Oliver and Harlow at first sight. Far too over-protective of his emotions, Oliver lives to work and to care for his gorgeous daughter Annie. He has no time in his life for other distractions. Enter Harlow who, on the face of it seems to lurch from crisis to crisis, but in reality she's committed to being a strong, independent woman that is following her own path. While there are ups and downs, this story is gentler than some of Tracie's other books but no less gripping. You end up absolutely smitten and happy that they deserve their love story and their HEA.

Another amazing book from this talented author, i love all her books and this was up there with the best of them, this was a sweet romantic story between Oliver and Harlow that will have you routing for them all the way through.

I read this book in one sitting as i couldn't put it down. This is a story of a single dad Oliver and his beautiful daughter Annie who is six but needs a nanny for three months while his mother who looks after Annie goes on a holiday. Hanna who'd had a drunken night out kiss with Oliver the week before has a call to go for a interview for a job to be a nanny for a little girl, she then becomes the nanny to Annie and you just know you are in for a ride with along with this couple. Then throw in a ex wife who hasn't been around in six years there is going to be lots of drama, and there certainly was.

I totally love Tracie's story telling and this story did not disappoint at all, can't wait for more from this series as loving all the characters that we are getting to meet. Definitely need to pick these books up you won't be disappointed at all.

I enjoyed this story. There are so many tender and swoon-worthy moments, with a few moments of self-doubt by both MCs along the way. Not a perfect relationship or a perfect situation, especially when a wrench gets thrown in just as their relationship really starts to take off.

Harlow is sure of herself and her abilities, but she is still young and has suffered from past relationships. Oliver has been burned mightily in his past. His young daughter, Annie, is the most all seven-year-old and brings laughs and a fresh perspective to the adults in her life. A fun read with a dash of intrigue to make you want to keep reading.

I can’t wait for more in this series!

Boss/employee is not my fav troupe, as this is father and nanny but the usual push/pull of the situation doesn't last long once she starts working for him.
They form a relationship quite quickly.
Major exdrama in form of his ex-wife.
No intimate scenes other than the Hero and heroine.
Heroine had been cheated on by her boyfriend that she was living with.
Hero is divorced, single dad, non man-whore type as he doesn't want that around his daughter.
No cheating.
Noone else once they are together but the ex-wife wants him back.
HEA.
Breadcrumbs dropped for future books in series and previous couple appear.

Ok, so I do love me a billionaire single dad/nanny romances, and I did enjoy the previous book somewhat.

This one, though, for me, it felt flat. I didn't like Harlow, I felt like she was flopping between standing up for herself and having no spine at all. Oliver was okay, but just nothing extra for me. The plot line? The ex? The fact that Harlow didn't even see anything and still decided he doesn't love her? Yeah, I was over that shit. One of the redeeming qualities in these books is usually the kids, but here, I felt like Annie acted spoiled even though everyone had praised her.

I decided to give this book a try after reading Athena and Ryker’s story. While the first book in a series is usually my favorite because it’s the anchor text, I was a big fan of Harlow and Oliver. Not only do I eat up the nanny-boss trope cliche, I felt there was more depth to this plot line than Athena and Ryker. It was an incredibly quick read. Oliver also, unexpectedly, has possibly made my top 5 for book boyfriends, which is very, very high praise. He’s at least top 10.

Fantastic writing.

But the ending I wanted him to show more. Yes it was a happy ever after BUT if I was Harlow I would be asking more questions.

It only seemed that he was 100% committed to Harlow AFTER he found out about the ex was trying to get back with him for the inheritance money. The fact that he sat in the cafe with his ex, then defended himself to Harlow by saying that the ex didn’t have anyone else to talk to was a huge red flag. I can’t help but get into the psyche of the characters when I’m reading ☺️

Yes the ending was as expected, but personally, I would’ve like him to show his commitment, especially after what he said to Harlow after the cafe meeting. Nevermind that the ex showed her true colours again, that was neither here or there. The fact that he was slightly swayed again and made excuses was a red flag.

Loved this whole series 🥰

Complimenti all’autrice

recensione a cura del blog “Libri Magnetici" by Anna M.
Ciao a tutti cari Magnetici!

Buona lettura, a presto!

«Oliver?» «Mai.»

Tre stelle.

Harlow lost her job as a Nanny because she stood up for herself when the husband was making advances on her. The same day she came home early to find her boyfriend sleeping with the neighbor. She kicked him out and went to a bar for some drinks to unwind. After talking her friend and telling her everything that had happened she felt a little better. Her friend had to leave to go to work and a stranger (a man) was trying to convince her that all men were not lying cheating bastards but she agreed to disagree with him. When he saw how drunk she was and offered to help her get into a cab. Right before she got into the cab she did something very stupid and kissed him.
Oliver was the stranger Harlow kissed. As soon as it happened he was shocked and turned around and left. He has not even think about another woman for a long time because he had trust issues when it came to women because of his ex wife. His ex wife had left him and their one year old 6 years ago and to be never heard from again. For the longest time he was hung up on her and tried to win her back. That was until he was told to stop or an injunction would be placed. That is when he filed for divorce. After a large sum of money she never came around. His mom moved in with him to help with his daughter. When she wanted to go on vacation she knew Oliver would need help. She conducted interviews and the last interview was with Harlow.
Harlow was offered the job but she turned it down because of how she acted when she met him for the first time. Oliver was able to get her reconsider and she accepted the job. Will Harlow go against everything her rule about not getting involved with another man for a while What will happen when his ex wife comes back?
I really enjoyed learning about Oliver after a little glance at him in book 1. The devotion he has for his daughter made my heart grow. Tracie knows how to pull at the heart stings. I wish I had an Oliver as a dad growing up.

I usually love the employee/boss trope especially the nanny/single dad one. However, this one didn't do much for me. It was cute. But forgettable. Plain and simple.

I did like the hero Oliver. I did! But he was just so... average? I'm not sure. I would say Beta but although he was that most of the book he did reveal a more Alpha vibe and it was pretty hot. Sadly though it wasn't enough to make this book spectacular. Oliver though was a lovely hero you could cheer for and a wonderful dad that made you wanna swoon.

His daughter Annie was a cute character and I'm glad she had alot of personality.

And then there's the heroine Harlow. Oh boy. Well I want to say I liked her and maybe there early on I did. BUT...she sucked. There. I said it. She actually had alot of things I did like about her but what completely negated that like was her massive insecurities regarding her relationship with Oliver. Was most of those doubts understandable, especially regarding their boss/employee situation?? Suuurree. But when his ex comes back into the picture the whiny pathetic woman she became just ruined it for me. I'm not going to drag out all the tidbits that we're often reminded of with her and her insecurities. But it was so annoying. It completely ruined the character for me.

All in all it was a cute and quick romance. Even though any action between the two didn't happen until 50% ish it still felt fast IMO. Likely due to the pacing of the storyline going on, I guess. 🤷‍♀️ But sadly it was forgettable. Cute though it was, neither character or the story had a strong presence.

Ps: I skipped the first book as it didn't interest me and it was perfectly fine as a standalone.

Enraptured is the second book of the ROGUES series and tells the story of Oliver and Harlow. Overall, it's a sweet story with all the cliches in there: the nanny falls for the boss, they start a relationship, the ex appears in the picture, he is rich, she is insecure, and the list goes on and on. It's a fast read and very distracting. It's perfect for a rainy day in New York, where you want to spend the whole day reading.

About the characters, I have loved Oliver since the first book. We already knew he was a nice guy, but this book took it to a new level. He is the perfect boy, way too perfect; he is intelligent, rich, gorgeous, sweet, head-level, and a fantastic dad. What else you could ask? On the other side, Harlow is lovely, but as the main lead of the first book, she is missing something; she doesn't have goals; her story is too on the surface to get something from her. Oliver makes her feel like she is more, and that's beautiful because you don't need a career or title to be smart, but she is still missing a lot for a lead character.

The book moves super fast. He fell deep and fast for someone who had not opened his heart for more than six years. I usually get anxious with third-act breakups, but in this case, I didn't mind; it was necessary and a smart choice for the moment. During those last chapters, I felt like most of Harlow.

I really enjoyed this sweet read about Oliver a single dad, hurt betrayed and left to care for their daughter when ex-wife Sara walks out and Harlow a single newly unemployed nanny. Their first meeting was not ideal but I loved that Harlow still interviewed and jot the job.

The book has great character building with amazing chemistry between Oliver and Harlow and the love that develops heartwarming. Both characters are strong, well developed with depth and easily relatable and the author did an amazing job highlighting and describing the emotions and feelings between Oliver and Harlow and their growing attraction to each other. The supporting characters and relationships between them were realistic and well done. I loved Annie, she was a sweet adorable and vibrant little girl and definitely stole the show.

The Karma at the end of the book served to ex-wife Sara definitely adds to the appeal of the book. A Must Read!

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Oliver’s story is the second book in this series and I couldn’t put it down. A single father, his sweet darling daughter and a down on her luck nanny... what isn’t there to love. Don’t get me wrong it is a classic single father and the nanny scenario but this single father isn’t one to be crossed, he might come over like a push over but thats where the similarities end and his ex finds that out the hard way. Harlow has her number straight away and the ex knows this so she sows the seeds of doubt into the equation. The chemistry between Oliver and Harlow is smokin hot and I loved the interactions between Harlow and Annie which firmly bond the two of them together. I loved the story and the characters and we get to see the other Rogues come out to play and they all pool their resources together to help Oliver in his time of need which makes us wanting to see more of them. I’m loving this series and I cant wait to get stuck into the next book...

Oliver, wow, Oliver, what a man.
Oliver's ex wife abandoned him with their daughter Annie when she was a baby and he has severe abandonment issues. Me too darling. His mother helps him but when it comes to her wanting to go on holiday with her new man, they are in need of a live in nanny. This is where Harlow comes in. After having a drunken kiss at a dive bar she is in for a shock when she goes for an interview, not realising it is the same guy from the bar!
Seeing their relationship grow, it is just so good. Even though their relationship was not plain sailing, it was realistic and just tugged on your heart strings. Annie was just incredible and so cute. Normally i do not like main characters having children but she was just so loveable.
The only thing I did not like was the sudden 'countess' plot thrown in the end, it was just so random and seemed so unbelievable and was just not needed, there is so many other story lines she could have gone with.

Another amazing book by this brilliant author. The second in the Rogues series sees Oliver’s life completely centered around his young daughter after his wife walked out on them both when she less than a year old.
Time moves on and eventually he finds himself in the position of having to employ a nanny.
Harlow is everything a child could possibly want & more & eventually she creeps into everyone’s lives including Oliver’s.
The sexual vibes between Harlow and Oliver increase until he makes her his own.
Enter a ghost from his past and everything starts spinning out of control. His ex wife has come back on the scene but with ulterior motives to try and win Oliver back.
You just have to read this for yourself to find out what happens next.
A fantastic read and one that I just didn’t want to end.

So many insecurities in the story. Harlow has next level angst throughout the book. I liked her at first but she never reached her full potential as a strong character in the end. She’s just so darn insecure. She didn’t ask too many questions about Oliver’s actions. She just accepted his answers. She seemed too easy to please.

Oliver is just plain forgettable. Very vanilla. He had one show of alpha behavior in the end when standing up to his ex but it’s obvious in their brief marriage she walked all over him and he let it happen. Then he blamed the ex for everything. He seemed too sure that Harlow would just accept everything he said about his ex. He didn’t grovel enough.

To me these two characters match. They both fade into the background. They both lean into each other’s insecurities. It works well for the story.

Enraptured: The ROGUES Billionaire (2)

The Billionaire and the Nanny. Seems a cliche. But what a story. Harlow falls in love with her new charge Annie, she's a born nurturer, Annie's mum dumped her when she upped and left her husband Oliver literally holding the baby, divorce and a large settlement and gone. Luckily his mum moved in and helped him. But now she has a gentleman friend who wants her to go on an extended holiday with him. Oliver wants her to go, she's already given them 6 years, she deserves it. Hence the nanny, Harlow, who is perfect. She adores Annie, who loves her, she and Oliver are getting close, until his ex comes back causing chaos. Excellent yet again. Now I'm ready for book 3

Oliver and Harlow. The Billionaire and the nanny ... hahahaa how many times have a I read a story with that concept ... but this one is done in such a way it leads the reader to a happy ever after...yea I know they all do but .... this one is pretty cool ....They are perfect for each other. I truly enjoyed how they meet with Harlow bashing the bf cause he cheated and then she disses all men and Oliver steps in with my saying that not all men are bad as not all women are either.....Their coming together was perfect. This book has loads of feels in it. The author did a wonderful job with the uncertainty of the characters, many more layers to it. Harlow is a wonderful woman with a heart that draws people especially children in to her world she has a loving heart.... even with how she felt and was treated growing up .... Oliver is damaged,a flawed man who was duped by the ex ..and now only lives for his daughter. They play off each others strength and weakness's. so when the ex reappears i love the ferocity harlow fights her with ... and i love how garen and oliver set her up ...
