The hurt/comfort in this was sweet and the long lasting impacts of sexual assault feel sensitively written. This features a non-graphic on page sexual assault in the prologue and the rest of the book talks about it but with no flashbacks. The prologue could be skipped if one preferred.

I do wish there was more hurt/comfort, more time with Theo and Brad developing their relationship. Despite a decent start I got bored here fairly quickly and by 40% it felt like the rest of the book was just a lot of meaningless filler scenes and repetitive smut. It really dragged. I couldn’t care less about the characters by the end. There was some scenes that would have been good to have on page - Brad telling his brothers what happened, but we didn’t see this instead we just got more sex scenes and I was skimming in the end.

I didn’t feel like Theo’s voyuerism really worked that well. It felt like the author wanted to write that kink so included it but it didn’t seem to suit Theo’s character and felt forced. Not to mention this seemed really creepy given that he does this at work and probably should be fired before he has charges laid again him. I’m surprised there wasn’t more backlash about that from the brothers who are the hotel owners and hence responsible for his behaviour.

I don’t think I’ll be continuing with this series.

Possible Triggers PTSD/Voyeuism
I really tried to read this series in order but somehow, I got off track. I guess it doesn't really matter all that much, but I was really trying to be a "good girl":)

This story begins on a rather dark moment in Brad’s life and takes a few chapters to let him improve. I wasn't too sure about Theo's intention to begin with and thought he might not be such a "good guy" after all. We had always seen such a happy vibe from him in all the books he has appeared in, in this series. Learning just what he’s been up to, was a bit on the "creepy" side. Then we learn that consent was never an issue with Brad when it came to Theo’s voyeurism...but I thought it diminished him from the character we had seen previously. It seemed that other folks in the town were also aware of his "kink" and brushed it off as harmless.... but then, Cherry Creek is an unusual little town.

Brad has lots of trauma and anxiety, along with PTSD...so some readers may want to pay attention to the book's warnings. Even though Brad has been in treatment at this point in his life and attempted to adopt several coping mechanisms, it’s clear that Theo sparks something in him that Brad thought was over and gone. The mutual attraction between Brad and Theo is obvious. Maybe it's just luck, or fate, giving them a break. Everyone in their families and social circles seems to accept the pairing, except Andy, the brother who returns to town after taking the money and not the hotel inheritance deal from their father. That's all explained in the first three books. Andy isn't particularly likeable, but he is the loud "voice of reason".

Andy's story feeds into the last part of the end of book 3. After reading a few of installments of this series we know that the brothers get their happy endings, so I wasn't too worried about Brad and Theo. I have really enjoyed this series...but be better than me and read them in order.

I loved this book so much.

I admit, when I first started this series, Brad's story wasn't one I was particularly keen on reading because I was afraid it wouldn't hold my interest as much, but BOY HOW WRONG WAS I.
Brad's the most precious human being ever, and he deserves to protected AT ALL COSTS. I loved him so freaking much: I knew he was hiding stuff, scary and painful secrets, but actually reading about what he went through, how he's managed to keep himself afloat after a horrible trauma in college, broke my heart to bits. I was cheering for him from the very start, and I loved that he finally got to have his HEA with such a well-deserving sweetheart like Theo.

I devoured this book in less than a day, and I still can't believe I did that! I've been in a slump since June-ish, and I thought my binge-reading days were over, but Kate Hawthorne proved me wrong <3
I loved Brad, and Theo was freaking great too. Their romance was beyond sweet, hopeful and romantic, and seeing Brad finally overcome some stuff and beginning to heal was absolutely wonderful to witness. He blossomed thanks to Theo's patience and affection, and their romantic arc in general was very, very satisfying.

Surprisingly, I wasn't too keen on the steam this time around; I liked it, don't get me wrong, but I was more interested in the emotional aspect and I kinda kept wishing there were more scenes where the brothers interacted.
Anyway, I adored this.
I'm not sure what to expect from Andy's story, but I'm very much looking forward to reading it (and after that, going back to my beloved James and Levi <3 <3 )

A Joyfully Jay review.

Fearless is the fourth book in Kate Hawthorne’s Room for Love series and I am really enjoying these books so much. They feature the Motel brothers who come to the small town of Cherry Creek, forced by a whim of their father’s will to run a hotel together. The books all take place within the framework of the hotel and the town, and the brother’s appear in each other’s stories. So being familiar with previous books will definitely be helpful here, but not totally necessary to understand Fearless, as long as you don’t mind missing some of the backstories.

Before I go too far, let me give a content warning for sexual assault in this story. Hawthorne places the details of what happened within the Prologue and, if this is a trigger for you, you can easily skip this portion and still follow along with the rest of the story. But do be aware that Brad’s past is a focus of the book and his journey forward is affected by his experiences.

I really liked the first part of this book, but I did find it dragged a lot more than some of the other ones, which is odd, because I liked this pairing. But I guess just most of plot happened in the first 40% of the book, and from there, it felt like a lot of filler, a lot of smut, and a smidgen of plot. The last 60% of this book dragged a lot for me, though I actually go through it a lot faster than the first 40%... go figure. I did skim over the last 2 or 3 sex scenes. While this was one of the ones in the series I thought I would enjoy the most, it actually took me the longest to read.

I do think this series has far too many sex scenes for my taste. I would like to see more time showing us how the relationships develop, as opposed to so many of them being established within a few chapters.

I don't understand how only one person found Theo's voyeuristic tendencies alarming, especially considering a) he works in a hotel and b) half of the people who didn't seem to mind are owners of said hotel and you would think they would be concerned with the privacy of their guests. But okay.

In the fourth book of On the Market, Raphael had a somewhat prominent role. This seems to be the book where he was first introduced. The same book also tiptoed around some drama regarding Kyle... this book seemed to be laying the groundwork for that. I don't know if the fifth book in Room for Love touches on it more, or if that will happen in On the Market.

My heart hurts. Brad's story is different from his brothers', it's sadder, darker, and I just wanted to wrap him up and keep him away from the mean author because no one deserves to go through what he did. This book is everything you want in a Kate Hawthrone book. She gives us kink and feels and love and makes us hurt for these men who just want to be themselves.

Theo is a voyeur, he doesn't call himself this, he's just observant (his words), but at the heart of it he's a voyeur. I was excited about that aspect of this book because I haven't read any books like it before and Kate Hawthorne always has the best kink. Theo saw everything and everyone, but no one really saw him, they didn't get him or his needs and why he liked what he liked...until Brad caught him that is.

Brad is a precious baby and I wanted to protect him from the world. My heart hurt for him over and over again while reading. He was coasting through life, his secrets a heavyweight on him, until he realized that Theo was there, watching him. Seeing him. In more ways than one.

Together, they navigate Brad's healing. Theo is patient and kind and perfect for Brad. He doesn't push, but he's always there for whenever and whatever Brad needs. From reclaiming his sexuality to falling in love to getting the support from his brothers that he wasn't ready for years ago. This book has it all and my heart is currently in tatters because it's so full of love for the characters and sadness that in order for their story to be told one of them had to hurt.

Hurt/comfort is one of my favorite tropes because while it's hard to read the pain of a character, it's so invigorating to see them take back their life. Brad gets that but he gets so much more. He discovers parts of himself that he didn't know existed because of what happened to him. Theo gets it, too. He gets someone who doesn't shame him for what he likes but encourages him to be himself, to watch, to take, to feel everything he's always wanted to.

Fearless was everything. Brad and Theo are everything. Their love story was both hard and easy at the same time. Easy in that they were able to see each other right away. They just got it. Hard because there were emotions all over the place and I just wanted to take care of them until I knew they would be okay.

These Motel brothers just keep getting better and better. Every single book I think that those characters are my favorite and then they get upstaged by their brother in the next one because they're so good. Kinky and loveable and so broken in ways none of us understand until we read their book. No one suspected that this is the way Brad's book was going to go. Until now he kept his past a tight-lipped secret. That only makes me wonder what Andy is holding back because you could see it was something. He even admitted that there as a guy out there somewhere. And Andy is so dominant, such a "there" presence, I cannot wait to see what happens in his book. I have a feeling he's going to take us all for a ride.

Brad and Theo are precious, soft and sweet in their love and setting the sheets on fire with their passion. Kate can seriously do no wrong with the Motel brothers--I absolutely loved this addition to the series!

Right from the prologue, this book gripped my heart and wouldn't let go. It was crushing, devastating to see Brad's innocent excitement about college get shattered by his assault. Please pay attention to the warnings because this scene is difficult to read. You can still enjoy the rest of the story without reading the prologue, if needed.

Brad's life in Cherry Creek is regimented, structured in ways to keep Brad in his safe bubble. He only sleeps in his bed behind a locked door, only eats and drinks food he's seen prepared, and never seeks out intimacy. As much as he desperately wants to feel normal, he doesn't know how to even think about bringing someone else into his life. In contrast, Theo literally grew up in the Cherry Creek Motel, always in the background observing everything around him. Though he has a huge crush on Brad, he feels safer watching and listening from a distance.

Theo's voyeurism is both the catalyst for Brad and Theo's relationship and a source of pain for Theo as he struggles to balance his desires with his need to give Brad the commitment and exclusivity he deserves. I've never read a book with a voyeuristic main character, and I found it fascinating to explore this new kink and understand Theo's motivation. While their initial scenes were a bit awkward, as Brad and Theo navigated their new dynamic, their later experiments with voyeurism were incredibly erotic. I love how Brad got to set the terms for Theo: "it's not me watching you, it's you giving me something to see." The way Theo went beautifully pliant when Brad took control was shiver-inducing.

While the sex Brad and Theo have is insanely hot, what got to me most were the softer moments in this book. Theo gives Brad so much attention and adoration, making sure he's always safe and comfortable in Theo's presence. Even when Brad feels insecure about his food issues or inability to be intimate, Theo is right there, quietly showing him that none of that matters. Brad, in turn, is supportive and accepting of Theo always, even when Theo doesn't think he deserves Brad's affection. I love that this couple showcased a softer side of love, with quiet confessions under the stars and a deep sense of devotion and trust.

Although this book has a heavy backstory, it's definitely the softest book so far in this series. Even the Motel family drama was pretty short-lived here. Now, can we please *please* get to Andy's story because he and his mysterious postcards have me so curious!

**I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

This is one of those series where absolutely none of it is my kink, but I keep reading them anyway because they fascinate me, like I’m observing wild animals in their natural habitat. I haven’t rated any of the others because I haven’t really known how to react to them beyond saying “hm.”

But this one. This one I loved. It could’ve used more editing, but overall it was really cute. It included the following dialogue, which actually made me tear up a little bit:

“I love you,” Theo said.
“Theo.”
“I’ve never loved anyone before,” he continued, eyes shifting back toward the night sky. “But I’m glad I do now. I’m glad it’s you.”

So precious!

There was more sweet romance and wooing in this book than in the first three, which is probably why I liked it so much. I love Brad. I love Theo. I love them together. There’s also a content warning for the prologue, which you don’t have to read to understand the character’s background, which was very fortunate for me because I found it too hard to read the whole thing.

This book had a lot for me to unpack. It starts on a pretty dark moment in Brad’s life and takes a bit to let up, because honestly, Theo came off as pretty shady to me at first, as well. Despite the happy-go-lucky vibe I’ve gotten from Theo in both this book series and Lindsey’s On the Market books, the reveal of what he’s been up to “behind the scenes” was super sketchy. The consent issues with Theo’s voyeurism also bother me, especially as it becomes evident that others in the town are aware of his proclivities and brush them off as harmless. Theo is incredibly fortunate that he falls for Brad, who doesn’t necessarily have a “being watched” kink, but instead regains power over his life via Theo’s habits.

All of the above may or may not make sense because I’m trying to (mostly) avoid spoilers. Brad’s trauma and resulting anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) warrant potential readers checking out the book’s warnings. Even though Brad has been in treatment at this point in his life and attempted to adopt healthy coping mechanisms, it’s clear that Theo sparks something in him that Brad thought long-gone.

The mutual crushing between Brad and Theo is obvious, and it’s just fate (and possibly because they live in a romance novel) that their individual needs line up so nicely. Everyone in their families and social circles seems to accept the pairing as inevitable, except the brother who returns to town late (having not taken the hotel inheritance deal from their father). I immediately latched onto Andy as a voice of reason, ending up way more curious about his own story as it fed into the last half of this book than I was in Brad and Theo’s inevitability.

This installment is still worth reading as part of the series. While I ultimately enjoy reading Hawthorne’s take on all the brothers, along with her excellent writing, this book didn’t jive with me as much as the others in this series.

I love the Cherry Creek universe. It's so hard to pick a favorite Motel brother but Hawthorne reached new emotional heights from the first page. I felt like I didn't breathe through the prologue- it was intense. Brad and Theo have beautiful chemistry. Brad is my favorite- wounded and vunerable from events in his past beyond his control, he slowly lets Theo fill those spaces of fear and need. Theo has his own baggage but understands Brad so well from the moment they really connect. I just loved how they fill those crevices of need in the soul of the other. Theo helps Brad see and take the things he really wants. The writing was beautiful, emotional and had that style we love from Kate Hawthorne. She has created so much atmosphere with the entire series that I almost feel like I could roadtrip to Cherry Creek and hang out at the hotel. She deftly weaves in the characters from both her stories in the series and also EM Lindsey's stories as well. I love Kate Hawthorne's books for a lot of reasons- they are always perfectly edited, her writing is clever and witty, the characters are different and engaging... She is a must read for me! This book gave me all the feels- sweet, steamy and a little heartbreak thrown in for Brad and what he's been through. I had a wee book hangover simply because I loved it so much. ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND!!

Theo Bruster has a bad habit. You could call him attentive or observant, and you would not be wrong, because Theo has always liked to watch. Growing up in a hotel has given him an exciting and easy life, but he's ready to put some space between himself and the only home he's ever known. But sometimes when you're not looking for anything, you find something, and Brad and Theo are about to learn that the hard way. The relationship that develops between them might be unconventional, but under Theo's watchful eye, Brad can regain control and for the first time in his life, be fearless.

*** Please read the content warnings ***

I enjoyed this story with a traumatised man with PTSD and a man whose link fits perfectly to help their needs match. They both deserved love and I feel that their mutual respect was a clear path towards a lasting love. Lots of emotions for the characters in this story. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was a MM story with mature and a reference to an historical sexual assault.

The story grips your heart right from the prologue. To finally know, after all his family picks on him, why Brad didn’t go to college even on a full scholarship was...devastating and so completely heartbreaking!

That moment changed how Brad lived and interacted with his family. He was careful what he ate and drank and always made sure his doors were locked. He longs for the love that his brothers have found but can’t seem to bring himself to the point of trusting a person that way so completely.

Theo lived his entire life around strangers coming and going from the motel and he enjoyed watching them. His voyeuristic tendencies, or observations, led to seeing some interesting things. He’s always had a thing for Brad but hasn’t gotten any vibes from him so he feels safer just looking and observing from afar.

Theo’s voyeurism leads to him and Brad getting together by giving Brad something he can control but Theo feels he can’t give Brad his full commitment if he can’t keep his “observations” under control. The two work together to accomplish this and are so unbelievably sweet together. Brad discovers he likes being watched if and only if it’s by Theo and he likes taking control of Theo as well. Theo discovers he likes being told what to do.

The scenes were HOT as always but this was definitely a sweeter, softer story and I loved how Theo accepts Brad’s control and yet Brad leans on Theo for strength. Beautiful story!!

This book has some tough times and some beautiful ones, too. Brad, one of the Motel brothers, experienced a sexual assault on his first day of college and never returned. Now, he's older, but still frozen in a world he cannot trust. He experiences anxieties which keep him often alone and not able to function in ways he would like to.

Theo has been at the hotel all of his life, living there as a child while his mother worked as a general manager, and later employed there himself. Theo has crushed on Brad for month. He also is a voyeur who hasn't obtained consent for those he's watched or listened to. Oddly, when he spies on Brad and gets caught, Brad finds his own exhibitionist tendencies and they are able to arrive at an agreement for what could work for both of them.

This book deals with many strong emotions, recovery, healing, and communication. It's a sexual awakening for both of them. It's also a beautiful story of love and hope for the future.

Of all the books in this series, this was my least favorite. This one took me a painfully long time to get through and there were many times I didn’t think that I was going to finish it but I hate walking away from books so I powered through.
This series focuses on a group of brothers and they all have a different kink and it's their stories of finding love. The brother (Brad) in this book had gone through some sexual abuse and is dealing with a lot of trauma with that. But that isn’t really what makes this book bad it wasn’t like that was difficult for me to read. This book was just painfully slow. It could also be that by this point in the series (and the On the Market series) that I am just getting tired of these characters. I don’t know. There is one more brother to read about and I going to give it a try.

A story about being seen and accepted.
Brad absolutely broke my heart. Trapped in a trauma from the beginning of his adult life, he’s just never figured out how to move forward or share his troubles with anyone. Theo is... observant. He likes knowing things harmless gossip material or very private things, it doesn’t matter he just likes knowing. Some might find this intrusive but it’s exactly what Brad needs. Theo sees him, he sees past his trauma to the good man that’s been hiding from everyone for years. And Brad shows Theo how to bring his habit of observation out of the shadows and make it even better with consent. Their love is sweet and pure like a young love but shines with a maturity that you know it’s utterly genuine. I love them so very much and will enjoy revisiting their story over and over.

In prior books in the Room for Love series, Brad has been the quiet Motel brother, watching his brothers fall in love and supporting them, but keeping mostly to himself. We knew he had a secret, but he wasn't interesting in sharing it.
Meanwhile, Theo worked at the lodge the brothers owned He grew up there, in fact, and that helped him develop his particular kink. Theo was a voyeur, and watching or listening to others was exciting to him. He was also secretly in love with Brad Motel.
Who knew that Theo was exactly who and what Brad needed? When these two became more than friends, Brad's fears began to slowly lose their stranglehold on him. Theo began questioning his own tendencies. I was happy to watch them fall in love and grow stronger with each other. The heat level was high, and the romance was so sweet.
This series is terrific, and Brad and Theo's story is an absolutely perfect installment. I love the interaction between the Motel brothers, and adore how completely different yet equally supportive each sibling is. I'm anxious for Andy to find his HEA, but at the same time I'm sad that his will be the last story in this series. I never want to leave these couples or the other quirky characters in the town of Cherry Creek.

Fearless is the fourth book in the Room for Love series by Kate Hawthorne. It's a wonderfully written lovestory with hurt and comfort, kink and finding what you need. Theo and Brad are great and I adore them together. They fit so well and give each other what the other needs. There is alot of emotion here, and together these two characters create intense heat but also a sweet love story that grabs the reader's heart. Brad's secret store at my heart but his connection with Theo patched it back together.

There is also a theme of family. I love seeing the brothers interact with each other and seeing their connections. This book and series is fantastic.

Another great add to the series. Theo and Brad are my new favorite! Brad breaks your heart learning more about him and you only want to see him truly be fearless in this book. Intense sexiness mixed with a sweetness and connection that you've come to love about Hawthrone's writing. Loved the dynamic about control, trust and discovering your happiness. Can't wait for the next. I voluntarily reviewed an 'Advance Author’s Copy' of this book.

Great read

I think hurt/comfort might be my kryptonite, which is a strange sentence to type. I really enjoyed how Brad and Theo come together and stay together for the entire book. No dark moments here - which totally works for them because there was enough of that in their pasts.

Another amazing addition about the Motel Brothers. I love Brad and Theo's story! I just love all the emotions that are in this story. From page one to the last I was hooked on this story. Kate Hawthorne just pulls me right into this story. I just love how perfect these two are for each other and they give each other exactly what they need. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

I started from the wrong end of this series.

To many people in this story that apparently already had their story told and it made this one somewhat hard to keep reading. I quit a couple of times to read something else then finally came back just so I could wrap this is up. It was ok. Hard start and kind of jumpy. Needed more introduction of the family dynamics I think.

I wasn’t sure about this one. Brad’s issues are clearly hinted in the previous books. And when revealed, they are painful. Brad and Theo are so well suited, both have room to grow, and they do. Their kinks fit together too. I like Theo’s kink, and I’m glad he understands about consent, even in voyeurism.

Another wonderful installment about the Motel Brothers! We finally get Brad and Theo's story and it didn't disappoint. Brad has a past he has been letting control and stifle his life and Theo has proclivities he is ashamed of...they both need something that is missing to help them move forward. They realize slowly but surely that the other is that something they both need. These men are just so perfect for one another as they build a relationship based upon trust, love and understanding. It was so wonderful to watch them fall in love. Brad and Theo really had a level of intimacy that was so well written into the story, it was very heartwarming. I have fallen in love with Cherry Creek, the Motel brothers and their friends and significant others and cannot wait for Andy's story next!

The quiet Motel brother sat by while most of his other brothers found their other half. Brad’s story grips you right from the start with the reasoning of why he’s so quiet. Theo is perfect for Brad. This is a great story with great heat and a HEA.

Theo and Brad

I loved reading about Theo and Brad getting together. Reading about Brad's past was emotional and Theo's devotion to him was beautiful. This story is about unconditional love and acceptance. But I do wish the ending had more. I hope to read about Andy next.

Theo and Brad are my favorite couple in this series. Brad has been hurt in the past and is very anxious about stepping out of his comfort zone. Theo helps Brad find his confidence again.

The brothers need to have real discussions and not just yet hours each other in storage round their hotel. Andy has a stick up his butt and walks around sad that he left for a year and things aren't the same which continues in the next book.
