From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Susan Stoker comes a new story in her SEAL of Protection: Legacy Series…

Over the years, Storm North has witnessed two teams of Navy SEALs under his command find true love. He doesn’t expect the same for himself. He’s too old. Too jaded. Too set in his ways. Until a woman who’s been right in front of him for years manages to impress Storm in a way very few women—or men—ever have.

Jane Hamilton knows it’s ridiculous to have a crush on the charismatic and handsome admiral. She’s the divorced mother of a twenty-six-year-old daughter. Too old for crushes. Too old for a lot of things. There’s no chance she’ll ever catch the eye of a man like Storm North.

Until someone delivers a bomb to the base.

As the civilian contractor in charge of the mail room, Jane finds herself in the direct line of fire, enduring a series of events that leads to a budding relationship with the very man she’s been longing for. She couldn’t be happier, and Storm feels the same.

The only one unhappy, in fact, is the thwarted bomber. Unhappy enough to do something drastic. Now Storm and Jane have to work together to save innocent sailors—and themselves—from an explosive situation threatening their happily ever after.

**Securing Jane is the 7th and final book in the SEAL of Protection: Legacy Series and a part of the 1001 Dark Nights collection. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

**Every 1001 Dark Nights novella is a standalone story. For new readers, it’s an introduction to an author’s world. And for fans, it’s a bonus book in the author’s series. We hope you'll enjoy each one as much as we do.**

He thought he was too busy for love. She thought she was too old for love.
They'd both find out how wrong they were.

Great

Susan Stoker never disappoints me with her stories. They are so well crafted. Loved that this story was about an older couple getting their HEA

Being a bit older myself it's nice sometimes to dive into a story that involves characters more my own age, this was definitely one I really enjoyed. Jane may be just into hers 50's but she's no slouch, working really hard and long hours when needed, she's raised her daughter, despite that not being the easiest and worked her way up in her job. She's strong, independent and conscientious. Storm has put his career above everything including his private life, his team's are important and he tries to do whatever he can to lesson any risks for their missions. While he has seen Jane and talked to her one morning, for some reason he actually sees her. While they start to get to know each other, there are things afoot to not make it easy. At times this was sweet, loving and even romantic, in others it was tense, suspenseful and even edge of your seat. There was a wonderful mix with a fast pace and exciting plot, I found it interesting reading. I loved that sex wasn't the top priority or that it was 2 or 3 times a night or every night, because real life and at that age it really isn't. The companionship and closeness is more important, being on the same page and talking, loving and supporting each other is. I love the acceptance and help the teams give along with friendship. A wonderful story to get lost in and enjoy. Started 10/3/21 finished 11/3/21

Securing Jane was an enjoyable read featuring a romance between a woman who run the mailroom on a naval base and an admiral who works in her building.

Jane Hamilton is too old to have a crush on someone but she can't help the feelings that surface every time she sees Storm North. Storm thinks he's too old and too jaded to find love but after Jane catches his eye, he wonders if maybe that could change. When someone delivers a bomb to the base, putting Jane directly in the line of fire, Storm realizes if he waits too long that he may not get another chance. But just as the pair's romance gets off the ground, Jane finds herself the target of the thwarted bomber.

Securing Jane was the first book in the series I've read but it worked well as a standalone. There are quite a few side characters that were presumably the main characters in previous books which I enjoyed getting to meet. Some of them I'm interested in reading more about so I will definitely be checking out other books in the series in the future. I liked that while the characters were included, they didn't overshadow the main couple. Overall despite being the final book in a spin-off series, the book works well on its own.

Jane and Storm were both older characters (both in their fifties) which I enjoyed as I don't read romances about older characters too often. Jane and Storm have known each other for some time as she runs the mailroom for the naval base in the same building Storm works out of. For most of their acquaintance, Storm is too in his head to really notice Jane and then when he finally does, all hell breaks loose after a bomb is sent to the mailroom. I liked the friendship between the two although I do think their romance developed a little too quickly for my liking. So while I liked them together, things just developed a little too fast for me to really buy in to their romance.

Overall Securing Jane was a good read and I will definitely be checking out more books in the series in the future.

I absolutely loved that this story had a mature hero and heroine! Jane and Storm moved from acquaintances to dating, and moved along at their pace. They handled everything as the adults they were, and while some things from Jane’s past were brought up as comparison, she had long ago dealt with the baggage of her previous marriage. We also got some suspense, and that was underlying after the initial moment until it couldn’t be contained at the ending. This was a great story with great characters and I loved it!

I've loved the SECURING series, especially Ace and Phantom's stories. But I found myself wanting a little more with this series ender.

On the one hand, I loved that it featured a mature couple, Admiral Storm North and Jane Hamilton, who directs the mail department on the base. I loved the exciting beginning and the tense ending (the villain surprised me) where Storm showed that even with a desk job, this former SEAL still has what it takes to save the day.

But it dragged for me in between. Tender love scenes (a little steamy, but appropriate for a mature couple) and lots of internal dialogue about how Storm and Jane made each other feel, and how they found the person they needed at this particular time in their lives. I wanted more action, even if it wasn't the mission kind.

But if you've read the rest of the books in this series, you'll want to read this one, too.

5 Star Review of Securing Jane (Seal of Protection: Legacy #6.5) by Susan Stoker
I have read and enjoyed numerous books by Susan Stoker and I couldn’t wait to read the last book in the Seal of Protection series and in my opinion Ms.Stoker has saved the best till last.
From the first to the last chapter I was fully invested in Storm North and Jane Hamilton’s story. There was danger, mystery, suspense, with twists and turns that held me riveted. The fact that the main characters are more mature, just added to my enjoyment.
When a bomb explodes in the mail room which Joan overseers on the naval base, she catches the eye of the man she has had her eye on, Storm. Determined to protect Jane their friendship develops which was interesting to watch.
Jane has baggage from her past to deal with and I loved how supportive and protective Storm was. This book was a delight to read and I was sad when it ended but thrilled that Storm and Jane got the happily ever after that they both deserved.

What a great book for February! Susan Stoker's Securing Jane made me fall in love all over again with her amazing hero and equally amazing heroine!

Storm and Jane come together thanks to danger that comes calling and the sparks and passion and romance collide together wonderfully with the danger and suspense. It was easy to get lost in this book and after it ended, I felt content and excited. I really adore these older characters. They burn with a stronger passion in my opinion that I find sweet and awe-inspiring. I loved the action and slow burn romance and how this book made me feel. Such a great read!

Securing Jane gets a SWEET AND EXCITING FIVE AMAZING STARS!

I love that Susan Stoker not only writes amazing stories about active Seals, she also takes the time to give their superiors their happily ever afters. Storm and Jane’s book is hopping from the get go, with lots of danger and suspense. This isn’t you’re typical romance because it’s about an older couple, but that’s what makes it believable and endearing. 5⭐️

I really like Jane, loved how she was a bit dorky and her crush on Storm. That her handing him the mail was the highlight of her day. I wished that Storm would have seen her the same, but it wasn't too long before he did.

The odd package and what happened had me holding my breath. I really worried that there was going to be a bomb in it and Jane would have had to keep holding it until a bomb team could get there to diffuse it. So when it just turned out to be pepper spray I was relieved. Did that suck, yes, but that could be dealt with.

I liked that this mail scare is what made Storm see Jane and realize he needed and wanted to do something about that. His coming in to help was great, but better was how he left her know in plain terms that he was interested in her and didn't want to let another moment go without telling her.

I thought their relationship was cute, loved how they had all the Shawshank movie quotes and how they mingled their lives.

The drama at the end had me once again holding my breath. I was so happy that Storm clued in quickly and had people right there ready to help.

I liked how this one ended, glad that they are more serious and going to get married. I even liked how Storm brought Jane's daughter back into her life.

Storm is 47 and although his days of being an active SEAL has come to an end, he now manages three SEAL teams. He has always believed that he couldn’t have his career and a relationship but now that he is home every night he wonders if there is more to life than the way he is living it. Jane, the woman who delivers his mail, has attracted his attention but it isn’t until she is in jeopardy that he realizes how much.

Jane is 51 and has been divorced for nearly two decades however her sole focus was on her difficult relationship with her daughter. She has been attracted to Storm for a while but so is every other woman on the base so she doesn’t believe he will ever see her as more than a co-worker who delivers the mail.

She is strong and resilient both in life and when it comes to the situation she finds herself in while Storm proves that he is someone she can count on whether she is danger or not. I really enjoyed how their relationship was low on angst and felt so real as they fit into each other’s lives so well, him with her daughter and her with his SEAL teams.

Securing Jane (SEAL of protection: Legacy #6.5) by Susan Stoker

M/F Romance
I was given this book for an honest review by Wicked Reads.

Jane is middle aged, but knows that she has a lot of life left to live. I absolutely love that she is a Shawshank Redemption fan, as I am too. Jane has been working in the mail room at the naval base for a decade. She likes her job and enjoys what she does. While Jane is doing her job, she happens upon a package that doesn’t quite look right and finds herself at the wrong end of a tear gas bomb. Covered in caustic gas, she makes sure that the people she supervises are safe and helps everyone get out of the way. Jane knows that someone will help, but she wishes they would hurry up.

Storm is a fantastic commander. He loves what he does, but realizes now, something might be missing. As he sees Jane for the first time - truly sees her, Storm knows that he wants to get to know her. Storm has seen his SEAL teams find women to love and while he isn’t quite envious, he wants someone to share his life with too.

Storm and Jane know what they are looking for in a partner, so their romance is a whirlwind. With the bomber still on the lose, will Storm and Jane be able to find their happily ever after?

I am sad to see this series come to an end, but loved each book in it. I highly recommend them.

Another winner

Jane has worked on base for over 18 years, Storm North has been on her mind for years but nothing has happened for her until a mail room disaster. There is more to the bomb exploding in the mailroom and who it was supposed to have been delivered too. However it goes off too soon. Storm has seen Jane around for a while but it looks like after finding out her status and trying to find who sent the bomb he wants to pursue a relationship. Very exciting conclusion.

Love doesn't have an age limit. Susan stoker proved this. This isn't the first time that Susan has show that being over 40 doesn't me you aren't insatiable.

Storm and Jane volly back in forth. They are older, hesitant, but willing. This is their story. Enjoy a book that will so well written about the over 40s. You won't be disappointed. Hotness, lust, and togetherness isn't lost on this couple. Susan proved..age is just a number.

She's not just a plain Jane

She is so strong and deserved finding her strong man.
As with all of this author's books there's a strong woman who ends up meeting her perfect man with it's own twist on how it happens.
Plenty of action with plenty of steamy bits.
Still loving this author's work, still my favorite author.

I love this novella so hard. Jane our 50ish heroine falls for Storm North who is in his late 40’s. Add in some suspense and it made for a great read. I loved their chemistry, and their banter. What a great quick read. The narration was pretty fantastic as well.

I loved reading about mature characters. It was a nice change from the usual thirty somethings not wanting to engage in a relationship or shying away from love.

Storm and Jane both had their past and knew what they wanted. There was no hesitation, no drama.
Storm was protective and take charge without being overbearing. He respected Jane and knew how to reassure her.
The book also packed action as is expected with Miss Stoker and as always I enjoyed the story a hell of a lot :)

It's time for Commander North to get his HEA. He's seen Jane around the base, but finally opens his eyes and sees her. Jane is in danger, and North once a SEAL always a SEAL, jumps in to help. I loved the older couple romance plus seeing all of the other team members making an appearance.

Ciao Fenici!

Securing Jane is a novella set in the SEAL of Protection: Legacy series by Susan Stoker and it's listed as book 6.5 or 7 depending on how you see it. The book is a stand-alone, but it contains some spoilers about what happened in the previous books so I would recommend reading the series in order. I don't think Susan Stoker has ever disappointed me with one of her books, so I will just say read the whole series or at least give this one a chance.

The book is well written for a novella. There was no need for character development and which is something that usually it's a miss in novellas due to their length. This story is all about Jane, Storm their developing romance, and them taking down a bad guy. And that's acceptable mainly because our characters are old enough to know what they want and be mature enough to get it without the unnecessary drama. Jane is 51 one and Storm 47 if I recall correctly and they are by far the oldest couple I read about in a long time. That's not a bad thing and I don't want to give you the impression that I disliked it, it's just that I was caught by surprise when I discovered just how old the main characters were. It's refreshing.

I want to see if Rose, Jane's daughter will get a story too. She didn't appear much, but I want to see a happy ending for her and more of Storm and Jane. Their romance was very good, and I feel like they have a strong and solid relationship, so I would love to see more of them in a future SS book.

Securing Jane is the romance of Jane Hamilton and Storm North. Jane is a divorced, single mother of an adult aged child who manages the Naval base’s mailroom. She’s crushed hard on Storm even though she knows he is way out of her league. Storm is a SEAL team commander. He’s never had a serious relationship of his own, but has watched the men on his teams fall in love. He’s also wondering how he has known Jane in passing for years, but never really saw her until now.

Securing Jane had so much drama and action, but I loved the downtimes between this couple most of all, especially how easy things felt between them from the start. I adored how they both appreciated the little things and gestures that can really show how someone pays attention and cares.

It was lovely to see them both find love at an age when they thought the chance had passed them by. their romance was sweet and tender but also hot and sexy. It was great to see a romance for a couple that wasn't in their 20s. I loved catching up with both Rocco and Wolf's SEAL teams as well.

Securing Jane was a really fun addition to Susan’s series since Storm has played a peripheral character in multiple books . . . it was nice to get to see him get the happy ever after the men on his teams did! 5 stars!

I love Susan's action and adventure novels, and this novella certainly contained heart racing moments, but what I loved even more than that was the comfortable moments in between. This relationship was about connecting on a deeper level beyond just the hot times. I really, really enjoyed this book!

Storm North and Jane Hamilton are both seasoned. While Storm had never been married, aside married to his job, Jane is once divorced and has a grown daughter. They both love their jobs and aren't really looking to settle down, but when Storm finally notices Jane, like really notices her beyond just as another woman on base and as the mail carrier who delivers his mail, he is certainly interested.

It doesn't take long for Storm to decide he would like to take Jane on a date, again, he's older and I like that he doesn't play games. I also respect that even though Jane has had a crush on Storm for quite a while, she doesn't beat around the bush when it comes to letting him know that she is interested.

I don't want to give away the suspense leading up to their date, but once these two get together, I absolutely loved that Stoker included having them spend time snuggling, deeply respecting that not only were they just a bit older, but that they both had high pressure jobs and might be a little tired at the end of the day. I totally understood that. Yes, Susan had seriously smexy times included, but I LOVED the realism in this book too!
